Stayed Aug 29, 2025Beautiful lakeside cabin that was the perfect launchpad for my partner and I's trips to Acadia. Around a 50 minute drive to the national park and Bar Harbor, which is reasonable if you decide to make day-trips. We packed the car for the days worth of activities, and returned to the cabin at nights, which was cozy and quiet. The cabin is an all-around great option for your Maine trip.

Stayed Aug 23, 2025This was a great start to our trip to Maine. It was quiet and located on a beautiful pond. The A frame was rustic in a good way, providing anything we could need. The owner was very quick to respond to communications. This is a great stay!

Stayed Sep 27, 2024We rented the cabin to be close to UMaine Orono for Parents' Weekend. We arrived at night and the cabin was cozy and welcoming. In the morning we had coffee on the dock watching the fog burn off of the pond. The home is definitely bare-bones, but accommodating and comfortable. The property manager was responsive to my questions and concerns during booking.

Stayed Oct 8, 2023Overall the A-Frame was beautiful and I would stay again! A few things I wish I knew before booking or were more clear at time of booking: 1. there are 0 curtains on the windows or doors, and there are adjacent homes on either side. It's nice to have the peace of mind that comes with closing the curtains at night, so it made our stay a little uncomfortable. 2. The back sliding door to the lake does NOT lock - there is a piece of wood to jamb in the track, however, it's not cut to size and you can easily open it from either side - (we tested it). Not sure what the property owner was thinking here - but this also made the stay uncomfortable with the knowledge that at any point someone could easily come in. It would be great if the owner provided the key to actually lock it. 3. There is no drinking water, only pond water to shower and clean with. You must bring your own water to use to brush your teeth, etc. This didn't bother me, but I wasn't aware when I first booked this stay until my partner read the fine print after the booking was confirmed. Two gallons of spring water should be enough for 1 week's stay - not including any water bottles for drinking. Lastly, 4. There is no heat in the winter, only plug-in heaters. This also didn't bother me, but it should be noted for those considering booking here as this info wasn't clear to me in the Vrbo listing. I stayed here early October, and it was cold, but not bad when you layer up and turn on the heater.

Stayed Sep 21, 2023The cabin was remote but not difficult to find. It was on Beautiful Lake George. It was pretty close to Acadia and Bar Harbor. The cabin was clean and cozy. We enjoyed our stay. The loons called frequently which was our reason to stay by the lake. Jim was very nice. He helped us out when we need anything. No TV but who needs one when you are in the wilderness.
