Stayed Apr 6, 2026Perfect for a spiritual retreat alone. Love the tongue and groove walls and ceilings. Felt very secure on the Camp property. Home was a little dark on the inside and lights could maybe be brighter. So, oh too bad, I spent my time on the lower patio enjoying the slow moving creek. My weather was perfect. If it has been dreary, I may not have stayed both nights. Nice places for walking. As I left, I tackled the Zwerner Lake trail and did fine. This may have to become a regular get away for me.

Stayed Mar 29, 2026Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. The location is marvelous for a quiet, relaxing retreat to the mountains. The waterfall was only steps away. Though the cabin was surface clean, it could use an extensive deep clean. This caused my review to drop from good to excellent. Overall, a great stay in the mountains.

Stayed Mar 6, 2026We stayed for the weekend in this quaint, old time feel cabin. Please know, this is not thrills and feels. It takes you back to a quiet, simpler time. Very basic but so relaxing. It’s on a creek so we kept doors and windows open to listen to the water. The beds were comfortable! The kitchen had everything BUT a keureg coffee pot and I had brought pods so keep that in mind if you love the idea of coffee in the morning on the screened in porch. The turntable was such a nice feature. I cooked breakfast to Neil Diamond, lol. Great experience!

Stayed Feb 16, 2026Our original reservation happen to fall right in the middle of the ice storm that went through but Hal was very accommodating with helping me get the reservations moved. I appreciated that. The cabin was comfortable and we enjoyed the experience of staying in a 50's style cabin. The lighting was darker than usual but I wasn't surprised given the context of the rental so it wasn't a bother for us. We were happy with the cabin itself. Even the loud, creaky old floor! The fall was amazing and absolutely beautiful and soul-refreshing. The grounds were very peaceful so the only noise was from the water and who's gonna complain about that!? There were a few things that were a bit bothersome. Everything in the cabin itself was clean but we had to go buy some xtra trash bags and there was no dish soap which I thought was odd. Even if you don't plan on cooking you'll still end up needing trash bags and dish soap. The porch was cute but it felt dusty; almost as if it hadn't been used in years. There was a throw blanket still crumbled up on a rocker and it didn't feel tended too since last renter so we didn't spend any time out there. The outdoor steps and patio could definitely stand a good sweeping or leaf blower taken to them. It would look & feel cleaner. The back patio was a mess. Chairs strewn about, a beer can on the ground and unkept. And I had to call to ask where to take our trash. I didn't understand why we had to do that ourselves. Otherwise, we had a good stay.

Stayed Oct 2, 2025The cabin was just what we needed for our stay in Dahlonega. We had a great time hiking in the area, visiting patches of pumpkins and sunflowers, and walking around the shops downtown. The cabin is in a great location to visit many different sites, and such a cute property with lots of eclectic touches - even a record player and lots of records to listen to! The bed was comfy and everything was clean. Lots of rocking chairs on the porch where you can sit and listen to the rushing water of the nearby waterfall. We would definitely stay again if we return to the area. (P.S. make sure to visit The Public House for a great dinner when you come!)

Stayed Aug 8, 2025**TRAVELERS BEWARE** As an avid traveler (personal & business) city/beach/farm/cabin/rural, multiple platforms, 10 years, this is my worst experience!Incorrect gate codes were provided via email. Stressful check. The cabin was cute and location was beautiful by waterfalls, however SEVERE COCKROACH INFESTATION!! Throughout the stay we found them in Bathrooms, bedrooms, (even in dressers), and in the kitchen. Upon ordering pizza, when went for another slice we found our food contaminated with roaches who then scurried behind the counter. All food had to be kept in fridge, takeout consumed immediately and felt unable to cook in kitchen. Traps in corners of rooms. Dressers reeked of bug spray. At least they left a giant can of bug spray and fly swatter for use. We had to purchase roach fogger canisters to treat our vehicle with all our belongings once we got home and had to wash all clothing at laundromat before bringing into the house to try to avoid any hitch hikers. Other issues - The AC in the den/living room needs replacement asap. It is barely functioning and incredibly loud (tv could barely be heard). The shower backs up after 5 minutes of washing. Residue/film from trap lingered in the shower floor. Very gross. They need drano or to snake it. Host has terrible response time. Days inbetween their replies via email or vrbo regarding concerns and then radio silence. Ruined our trip for college drop off with unnecessary stress and poor sanitation.

We just werent expecting no access at all to the creek or falls

Stayed Jul 12, 2025We had a great time staying just above the falls with a creek in our backyard. This property is located inside a gated church camp so we had tons of privacy. We felt like we had the falls all to ourselves. Parking was easy other than small steep spot getting down to the driveway. We had a small suv but any car can do the drive. No 4x4 needed. Parked right up to the front door! We had fun looking and listening to the records, playing board games and exploring the property (during the day). Ac was cold, showers had plenty of hot water. I have very sensitive allergies and I think the filters may need changed. Otherwise the house was cleaned. The beds are on the firm side if you like that. Kitchen fully stocked including coffee and creamer yay. The screened in back porch was a fav spot to enjoy morning coffee or have a night cap watching the lightening bugs dance around. I would stay again if I’m in the N GA area. It’s located not far away from other falls like Anna Ruby and popular towns like Helen or Blue Ridge. We took a check in day trip to Helen to ride the mtn coaster. In town is a gold mine you must see. We panned for gold and actually came out with 25 worth! Try your luck and book this place.

Stayed Jul 17, 2025The property is located inside a Methodist retreat property. My issue is with the lack of communication with the owner/host of the cabin. In order to get inside the property a gate code is needed. I did not receive the gate code before hand. Therefore I had to engage the staff of the Methodist retreat center multi times is get into center. He made it very clear that they do not manage this property. Helping me was not their job. They did help because they are caring people. However I was not giving the gate code by them. Once I got access I didn't feel like I could leave because I might be able to get back in. I left Friday morning at 10:30. I received a message from the host Friday about 10:00am as I was leaving with the gate code. I indicated that it was really too late to be helpful. This did not allow me to fully enjoy my brief stay. I made many calls to the host Thursday evening with no return call. The manager indicated that many of this many of the guests for this property have had the same issues. He feels that the host does not grasp some aspects. At any rate this set of events was stressful and sucked a bunch of my time that I had allowed for relaxation. The cabin is lovely. I enjoyed the property itself. I had indicated to the host that I will back in the area in August. I would like to stay in the cabin again. However these issues must be successfully addressed without question. Thank you, Lynne Michael

We tried to contact the host through vrbo, calling, and texting with no response. After an hour of trying to contact the host, we contacted vrbo. They tried to contact the host with no response. They promptly issued a full refund. After 22 hours and additional efforts to contact the host, he finally wrote back saying sorry for the mix up. Are you still in the area. I'll refund whatever you feel is appropriate . No explanation at all. Be careful of this one. It felt real scammy.

Stayed Jun 19, 2025Clean, quaint, nice screened in back porch. Lots of games and DVDs. Minimal lighting so kind of dark. Didn’t provide soap in the bathroom or paper towels in the kitchen, we had to go buy them. No central air so it was very humid inside, even following their directions for the units. Even with a 65 cleaning fee, we had to take the trash out to a dumpster, that didn’t exist. We couldn’t find the dumpster, so we had to take the trash home.

Stayed Jun 1, 2025The cabin itself was okay. Rooms were dark, even with all the lights turned on. The screen porch was our favorite, although it was very dusty. Disappointed that the record player wasn't working properly. There were camps in session so our ability to explore was limited. The flagstone patio is in disrepair and was unsafe for a 2 year old to play on. Proximity to the Town square was great.

Stayed Dec 27, 2024We had a child sporting event at the local high school and this property was perfect for that. Close to the school and to town. Cozy and well stocked for our needs (we weren’t really cooking), very clean, lots of games and dvds for when it was raining. It’s at a fantastically beautiful spot at the top of a waterfall. My only caveats are be sure you have the gate code before you go. I thought we did but couldn’t find it and struggled to get in. Also it’s on a camp property and because they had a youth camp when we were there we could not explore the property (but it was raining so we couldn’t anyway) but still good to know ahead of time in case you plan on hiking. This is a great place to disconnect with the world and reconnect with nature. We would stay again!

Owner of the property never got back to us after 1 text and 3 phone calls. Vrbo couldn't get a hold of the owner either. We knew the cabin was rustic but trust me when you don't see a picture of the front of the cabin - don't book it. We had to stay in a hotel that night - and the next day no water in the hotel. The holiday was totally ruined and didn't see any of the Christmas lights or go to any festivities at all. Never had a problem with a host being available - there is no excuse for not responding to our problems.
