1800's Original Cozy Romantic Cabin For 2 Or The Family

The cabin was delightful, quiet, very clean, with a nice hot tub on the screened in back deck. It was such a beautiful place to get married to my soul mate. We had so much privacy. We took our little pup (French Bulldog). This cabin was pet friendly. We couldn't have had a more pleasant place to stay. Loved it! We will go back for our year anniversary! Thank you!

Our cabin was beautiful! It was peaceful & quiet, exactly what we were looking for this weekend. We loved the hot tub & the woods all around us. Due to weather we did not get to get out & explore around as much as we would have liked, but we loved what little bit of the area we did see. We would love to come back some day.

This place is a absolute jewel. I cant say enough great things about it. Immaculately clean, decorated beautifully. Beds were amazing and hottub was my favorite. Also you can walk down to creek as welllas sit outdoors and grill …. and sit on the fromt porch for coffee and theres wven a firepit although we didnt havw time to enjoy it Also the kitchen was well stocked with more than we needed ! The water presdure for the shower was perfect as well. ! Im sorry we had not planned to stay longer but we definitely plan to come agan and bring our children and dog ! Amazing stay !

What an absolutely charming little place! It was everything it had been advertised to be - and more. The inside was just super cozy & adorable...The screened in porch, back deck and hot tub were all well laid out and so fun to hang out on. The property is quiet and well-maintained and the view of the river can't be beat. One of our favorite vacation spots to date and we cannot wait to go back again...and again!

Away from it all is the perfect name for this cabin. We had a wonderful time it was secluded but yet conveniently located toAll the areas we wanted to explore. We enjoyed hiking desoto state park, Jericho wall, little river canyon state park, Bucks pocket state park. Little river canyon rim drive, and cathedral falls state park. Oh and after all that hiking the hot tub was heaven. Kept us going and ready for another day of hiking this beautiful area. Not toMention the wonderful view of the river and sounds from waterfall from the back porch. And perfect fenced area for our furbabies right off back porch. Definitely want toPlan a return trip

The cabin was lovely and in a beautiful location. It was very clean and had everything you needed. It is a little hard to find and a little further from town than we expected. Also there is no cellular coverage so be sure and print out all the instructions prior to your visit. You will need the code to the gate to get in!

Only issue was whoever was there before us loaded the dishwasher, but never ran it. Smelled horrible when we opened it. We only used 3 coffee cups and one plate. Washed those by hand. Then ran the dishwasher with the old dirty dishes. Otherwise , a great stay!

The cabin and location is absolutely wonderful. My husband and I enjoyed our anniversary trip to this cabin so much that we only left to go get food haha. It is well stocked with everything you may need and it is so beautiful and inviting. The only issue we had is that the beds were too small and we ended up sleeping separately to be more comfortable. Overall I highly recommend this beautiful cabin and would stay here again if there was a bigger bed in the master bedroom.

The home was very clean. The directions were very easy to follow. The value for money was great. It fit my budget, which was very important to me. The hot tub works for heat. The view was awesome. The paths to three river were very nice. Sitting by the firepit was nice, fire lit of course.

This was our third time staying here and each time we have added on an extra day or two. It is calm, peaceful and exactly what we needed to decompress. The location at the end of a quiet gravel road set above the river is perfect.

We had such a relaxing weekend at this cabin and truly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was spotless and very well maintained, which made it feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The fireplaces were a great feature, especially in the evenings.The beds were extremely comfortable with memory foam mattresses, and we both slept so well. It’s clear a lot of thought has gone into making guests feel at home.The setting was incredibly quiet and peaceful, which was exactly what we were looking for. The hot tub was wonderful, and one of my favorite moments was sitting on the back deck in the morning listening to the waterfall. It was the perfect way to start the day.We would definitely stay here again!

We loved the cabin! It was cozy and comfortable. The hot tub was great. The beds were comfortable. It snowed while we were there and was very cold but we didn’t mind since we stayed warm inside or in the hot tub. It was just what we needed for respite from caregiving. It is well equipped and we cooked all meals there. Loved the little electric waffle iron. The host was responsive to our questions. We hope to return in a different season and enjoy the outdoors more.

Everything about this stay was perfect! We loved it so much that we didn’t even mind being without power one of the days! Exploring the property was breathtaking! Visiting the town’s Wildflower cafe was delightful (even though much was closed due to the weather). We are excited to come back in the warmer season (may even consider bringing the kiddos)

Fantastic host, first of all. Always. The cabin is ceey remote and rustic and the perfect place to get away. We love the hot tub, walking down to the river below, and the unbelievably comfortable bed!!

So many things made this property excellent from the authentic 1800 cabin to the fully stocked cabinets and the beautiful scenery. However the best was the communication from the owner who gave so much information we were able to relax and enjoy.

This was our second stay. The cabin was different than the last time we were there. Cozy. Remote enough to feel away from it all.

This was our second time staying at the cabin and it was as relaxing as the last time. Sitting in the screened in porch and listening to the river below was wonderful. We are already planning our next visit to the cabin.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay. The cabin was clean with all of the creature comforts anyone could ask for. The outdoor space however, was exceptional. We would definitely stay again.

This cabin is a treasure hidden in the woods, with sounds of rushing water and sounds of nature. Feels as if you have stepped back in time when you drive up and walk in. Although there are lots of modern things (like top of the line washer and dryer and any appliance you would want) the cabin kept the style and heritage of the structure. We were pleased we could take our little girl in a dog suit, she had the best time because the owners were so thoughtful, they have a fully fenced large area just for potty time. She could go from cabin, back deck, to potty area and back to deck and you have no worries. No need to look further, this cabin is amazing.

Cabin was rustic but nice. Everything was clean and kitchen was well stocked. Although it was remote, it was in the middle of everything we wanted to do. We will definitely book it again.

The cabin was cozy and well-stocked with some very thoughtful touches. Space-wise, it was great for two, but a larger group might feel a little crowded. The wi-fi signal is strong and reliable, but there is no cell service at all. You definitely feel like you're away from it all and unplugged while you are there. The hot tub was awesome! And the creek/stream out back was also really nice -- clean and clear. Our dog loved swimming in it, and we did, too. It does take a little work to get to the water -- there are a couple sets of stairs going down to the shore, and then shore itself is all rocks/boulders; there is no flat/beachy area and thus no easy way in/out of the water. Overall a great stay!

This home is amazing!

Check in was very easy. The kitchen had everything needed to cook. It also has both a Keurig & a regular coffee pot.

This is the second time my family has stayed at one of these beautiful cabins(we stayed at Valkyrie last visit). Such a relaxing trip to take with my husband & our two teens. We swam everyday in one of the most refreshing rivers on the property. Every evening soaked in the hot tub while listening to most unique bird, Chuck Will's Widow. Ate at the Wildflower Cafe, delish! Hiked down to Desoto Falls & swam a bit. I promise you will not regret booking at any of his properties. We will be back!

We enjoyed the property so much and loved that we were forced to relax. We took full advantage of the fire pit and the screened in porch. We had a fair amount of rain both days of our stay and enjoyed listening to it thru the trees on the porch and on the metal roof. My husband and I have stayed in a lot of rentals and he and I both agreed the property was perfect. We couldn’t think of anything that it didn’t have or offer. Thank you!

The place was just what we needed. The route down to the river was a challenge due to being out of shape but it was nice to do it together. The scene when you got there was worth the short steep walk. Beautiful. Just a lovely place to be away from it all.

We needed a getaway and this cabin was just what we were looking for. Communication with the host was timely. Cabin was quaint, rustic and cozy. Hot tub, waterfall, and location were incredible. We will be returning again and again.

Excellent place to stay. Definitely away from it all. It was everything that was advertised. We especially loved the decor.... It was exactly like we would have decorated it. The only ugly thing in the house was the Auburn Tiger picture,..... Roll Tide !!!!!! Loved it, and if they want to sell it,.... We're interested!!!! Thank you for sharing it.

My husband and I stayed here over New Years, and we loved it so much we just HAD to come back! We call it our cabin, and we plan to visit at least once a year...if not more. This cabin has all we need for the perfect getaway. It's far removed from everything, so we usually buy enough groceries for our stay and cook most nights. Though we do like to wander into Fort Payne for some delicious authentic Mexican food. The hot tub is amazing! The bed is beyond comfortable. We like to just hang out, walk down to the river on the property, walk our dog on the long road that leads in, and go hiking in Desoto! If you like peace and quiet and lots of privacy, this is the place for you!

This is a magical cabin! Something new at every turn! Power went out a few hours first night due to a storm. Could hear the river, but see nothing! I had brought a flashlight expecting the weather although there are lanterns provided. I noticed after the power came back which was more quickly than I thought considering the location! Good job! Our Pete settled in quickly and enjoyed being off leash in the yard. Upstairs was fantastic though we didn't need it! It is small but a close group able to enjoy the outdoors and location would be happy! Host was super accommodating, and I do appreciate it! Thanks!

We loved our weekend stay and truly needed to “Get Away From It All.” Everything about the cabin was perfect. It had everything we needed to cook all of our meals with the exception of our outing to Wildflower Cafe and Desoto Park. We loved walking down to the river behind property and sitting on rocks, listening to the water. We spent nights at fire pit and playing cards, watching movies inside in front of fireplace. The hot tub was the family favorite and enjoyed all day at various times! The hosts were accommodating and we were thankful for our early check in and also lucked up and got a later check out. We will definitely be back! We try to make a yearly trip to Mentone!

The cabin is beautiful and clean, the location is picture-perfect, and the owner and staff are very nice, accommodating, and communicative. The owner offered us an early check in and late check out due to a snow storm. The river is right behind the cabin and the hot tub, fire pit, and bqck porch overlook it. I highly recommend this beautiful property

Cabin is secluded, on a fork of Little River, very comfortable and perfect for our family of four. It was built in 1800s but has been thoroughly modernized and has everything you might want. Really enjoyed it and would definitely stay there again.

My wife and I had a great time during our stay with our two dogs. The cabin was clean, cozy and well equipped. The hot tub was awesome and the best we have tried so far. I felt relaxed like I would have gotten an actual massage. The fenced in backyard was a big plus for the dogs and overall the cabin offer several areas to hang out and enjoy some quiet time in the nature. We definitely consider to come back for another weekend trip.

My husband and I brought in the New Year here, and we had the best time. This place is absolutely perfect! It's comfortable, clean, private, rustic feeling yet with all the modern amenities. The master bed is unvelievably comfortable. And the hot tub overlooking the river is divine! Not one single complaint! We will be staying here at least once a year from now on.

I came to stay here with my fiancé after finishing a grueling semester of school and work. It was amazing to get away and unplug for a few days. The property is beautiful, and so quiet. Rob is a great host and answered our questions when we had some trouble with the WiFi connectivity. The instructions to find the place are perfect, and the signage is great. My fiancé and I definitely plan on staying here again.
