Stayed Sep 25, 2025This was our second stay at Parkhead House and my only regret is that we couldn't have stayed longer. Angela and James are fantastic hosts and anticipate every need that a guest could have. The location is in the countryside, yet only a 10-15 minute drive to EDI airport and a local P&R with easy tram service into Edinburgh. Would definitely stay here again, but would try to stay longer next time. For Outlander lovers, also close to many filming sites. A++++

Stayed Sep 13, 2025We stayed in the spacious, comfortable Iona Suite on the first floor of this lodge. Included were living/dining room, a pantry with kettle and fridge stocked with all sorts of delicious treats (from smoked salmon to fresh fruit - in addition to a cooked breakfast), a large bedroom with comfortable queen bed and quality linens, and a bathroom with the fluffiest bath sheets we've encountered (along with robes and slippers). James was helpful with logistics and offered Outlander and history tours.

Stayed Aug 27, 2025James was such a nice, welcoming host. Parkhead house was very conveniently located to both the airport and to Midhope Castle. Breakfast was the best breakfast we had had during our week tour around scotland (this was the last place we stayed before leaving). From the moment we walked in we felt like we were staying at a friend's house. James even surprised us at midhope castle the next morning knowing we would be there and gave us a private tour! The room was well kept and clean and bigger than

Stayed Jun 18, 2025We have been going to the Iona Suite at Parkhead House for a few days every year during the RHS in June. An extremely comfortable suite which has a huge ensuite with a shower which is suitable as I have a disability. James always makes us so welcome. Booked again for next year!

Stayed May 5, 2025If you book the Iona suite, it is like having your own home with living room, stocked fridge and coffee bar, bedroom and bath. All of this in a beautiful setting. Honestly I booked it for our last night in Scotland because it was close to the airport. My only regret is that we didn't arrive earlier to enjoy the beautiful setting and surrounding attractions.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Exceeded expectation. Beautiful house and surroundings, the kindest and warmest hosts you could ask for who go the extra mile for their guests. Plenty of room, super breakfast with lots of unexpected extras in the fridge incase you are hungry. Everything you need for a fabulous stay. Perfect location to staynfor a wedding at Hopetoun House or for exploring the beautiful area, The Forth Road Bridge, Outlander country or Edinburgh. We absolutely loved it!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Location is close to many historical South Queensferry sites. Hosts James and Angela are the best - so friendly and helpful. They know everything there is to know about Outlander. The breakfast is wonderful and they stock your fridge with meats, fruit & cheese for lunchtime or snacks. The croissants and pastries are heavenly! The B&B is on the Hopetoun Estate, with deer and sheep wandering by. They recommended excellent dinner restaurants in South Queensferry. It was A Delight to stay here!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Our family stay at Parkhead House was truly exceptional. We rented the whole cottage, which is stylishly decorated, clean and located on a quiet country lane. James and Angela were the perfect hosts. We woke each morning to the smells of a freshly cooked breakfast, which James prepared for us each morning. The special part of our trip was the extra Outlander tour James provided, where he combined film locations with the actual history of this locations. Parkhead House is a destination in itself!

Stayed Jun 10, 2024My friend and I were only here one night, but wish we could have stayed longer. It was very clean and casual. The Inn keeper/owner was very friendly and courteous. The backyard overlooked a pasture, that has many deer (Bambies) roaming about. A true taste of Scotland.
