The Location — Caye Caulker, Belize
Caye Caulker is one of the Caribbean’s last authentically unhurried islands. The unofficial motto — “Go Slow” — says it all. No traffic, no stress, just barefoot village life, world-class snorkeling on the Belize Barrier Reef (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and a community of travelers and locals who’ve found something special here.

The villa puts you right in the heart of the island’s natural side while keeping you within easy reach of the village’s restaurants, bars, tour operators, and the famous The Split swimming area. Wake up to birdsong, fall asleep to fireflies.

Nestled in a lush mangrove sanctuary on the island of Caye Caulker, this one-of-a-kind eco villa is where Caribbean adventure meets laid-back island living. Surrounded by thriving wildlife —

Thoughtfully designed to blend seamlessly with the natural environment. Spread across three floors with open-air living spaces, local artist murals adorning the walls, and hammocks on two levels, the property invites you to slow down, breathe deep, and reconnect with what matters.

Your room
∙ Super-comfortable memory foam beds with premium linens, extra pillows, and fresh beach towels
∙ Large Smart TV with free Netflix and high-speed Wi-Fi
∙ Private bathroom with shower
∙ Personal sitting area with table and chairs
∙ Ceiling fans and standing fan in every room
∙ Fully-equipped kitchen with gas stove, granite countertops, refrigerator, and beautiful handcrafted wooden cabinetry — everything you need to cook a fresh catch or a full meal

The shared spaces are just as inviting:

∙ BBQ area with picnic tables on the lower level — perfect for sunset cookouts
∙ Hammocks scattered across multiple floors for quiet moments and private relaxation
∙ Rooftop terrace with unobstructed 360° views over the mangrove canopy — one of the best spots on the island to watch the sky ignite at sunrise and sunset
∙ Original art murals from local Belizean artists on all three levels, giving the property a creative, cultural soul

Every reservation includes complimentary use of:
∙ Inflatable paddle boards (launch from the shoreline, an 8-minute walk away)
∙ Bikes to ride the scenic beach trail into the vibrant Caye Caulker Village
∙ Full snorkeling equipment
∙ Fishing rods

The Caribbean Sea is a short walk away, where you can snorkel pristine reefs, fish off a dock, paddleboard through calm water, or simply sit and let the rhythm of the ocean reset your nervous system. The main swimming areas are a leisurely 20-minute bike ride along one of the most scenic coastal trails you’ll find anywhere in the Caribbean.
Need to venture further Daily water taxis run to the village, and golf cart rentals are available locally for easy island exploration.

Living Off-Grid, Living Well

∙ Air conditioning available nightly from 1pm–9am (solar-powered, weather dependent)

This property runs entirely on solar power with battery backup and a generator — a genuine commitment to sustainable island living, not just a talking point. The home harvests rainwater for its water supply, and we ask guests to be mindful of water and electricity use as part of the collective effort to protect this extraordinary natural environment.

A note for the right kind of traveler: Belize is a subtropical paradise — that means warmth, humidity, the occasional rain shower, and a thriving ecosystem of bugs, insects, and natural wildlife in every season. If you embrace that as part of the experience rather than something to avoid, you will absolutely love it here. This place is designed for guests who want to feel connected to nature, not insulated from it.

Costa Nube was the last of 4 places we stayed in Belize and the one we enjoyed the most. Aldo and Kolleen were the most pleasant and wonderfully helpful hosts, providing us with everything we needed for a 4-day relaxing stay before heading home. I had the best series of good night sleeps in a long time, which is priceless!

Aldo and Colleen were amazing hosts. They made sure we were picked up and taken the property safely. They also showed us around town to main spots they favorited. Very kind and warm souls. Everyone in town knows them and speaks highly which says a lot. The property is south of town and the airstrip so we did end up renting a golf cart for ease but you can definitely just use the bikes they provide as well. We appreciated being a bit away for a more calming and relaxing experience. We used a little dock near the place to swim daily and saw lots of wildlife. There’s not a lot of actual beach here as it’s mangroves mostly but the water is beautiful and easy to jump into off any dock. They can give you all the great recommendations needed and are on site to help out if you need anything. Being the property is off grid be mindful of the ac use and water. The ac is in the bedroom and you keep the screened doors and windows open for breezeways in the living areas. There are two very large covered common areas that function as outdoor living room's. The top deck has an awesome 360 view, you don’t find that just anywhere. Both levels are breezy and amazing for hammock naps! When we return to this beautiful island we will stay here again for sure!

Aldo was extremely accommodating for our stay. We were staying at a different VRBO before and we switched to Aldo halfway through our 6 day stay on Caye Caulker. Our check in wasn’t supposed to be ready until 3:00PM but when I asked if we could drop off our luggage early before check in he said yes, and to our surprise the room was even ready when we showed up! It is such a beautiful property with amazing communal spaces and charming landscaping and decor. He also provided free snorkel gear, paddle boards, fishing poles and bikes all complimentary to our stay. It is a bit further away from town than many other accommodations, bit the south side of the island is very quant, remote, and beautiful. Totally worth the extra adventure, and we would absolutely stay again!

I usually stay closer to the split when I visit Caye Caulker but I am SO GLAD I found this place. It is a 10-15 minute bike ride into town but it is 100% worth it. It is so quiet, private, and there is a beautiful roof-top hang out spot that is absolutely breathtaking! Aldo and his wife are also so kind and accommodating and very quick to respond. They went out of their way to make us comfortable and got us every thing we needed AND THEN SOME! The room itself was one of the cleanest places I stayed and one of the best beds I’ve stayed in on this island!! 10000/10, the best spot to stay on the island!

Amazing property that I didn’t ever want to leave. So much so that we came back from San Pedro to stay on Caye Caulker with them again! If you’re looking for an off the grid get away with the ability to stroll into town on a bike that is on the property (one of the main modes of transportation on the island), this is the place to stay! Aldo & Kollen were so accommodating. I cannot recommend this place enough!
