The Oceanview: Private Gated Compound with Views

We stayed at this property last year with our adult married children and grandchildren and made a return trip this summer. Our grandkids enjoy the boardwalk and it is a treat for us to tag along. The common space: living room, kitchen and deck are a generous size and give us plenty of breathing room for hanging out together. The location is ideal to walk to local cafes, bakeries and stores plus an easy walk down the street thru the park to the Boardwalk. The much loved decor and furnishing are worn but interesting and well thought out. We wouldn't hesitate to come back again next summer.

The property, house and amenities were exactly as described and impeccable. It was a beautiful place to relax on the deck and enjoy the weather, the views and the sounds of the boardwalk. Extremely comfortable in every way. I would stay again!

The upstairs bed and bathroom layout was generous and the beds and bedding comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with kitchen gadgets and pots and pans. The decor and furnishing were worn but eclectic and interesting with plenty of room for everyone to lounge. Clearly this was a beloved family home that has transition to a very pleasant rental property.

The Oceanview house is absolutely magical! As soon as you walk through the door, it’s clear that every single detail of this home was thoughtfully planned and perfectly executed. The house itself oozes character and charm and has been tastefully restored to include all the modern amenities one could want. The back deck is the perfect place for a cozy outdoor dinner or a relaxing glass of wine. The kitchen… where do I even begin? The kitchen is absolutely magnificent! A chef’s dream, fully equipped with everything you could ever need to host an extravagant dinner party or make a quick meal for your kids. Whoever designed this kitchen (the whole house really) has impeccable taste! The grounds are beautiful. The view is awesome and you can’t beat the location! There is a wonderful park right at the end of the street with an epic playground for the kids! We booked this home as a place to host our small, intimate wedding celebration. Finding a vacation rental that would allow a small event was difficult to say the least, but we are so very grateful that we found The Oceanview! The owners and the property manager were wonderful to work with. The communication was excellent and their organization and attention to detail was exceptional. We can’t wait to visit this beautiful home again!

This beautiful home has so many nice touches, it shows the owners are thinking of the guests in a thoughtful way. In the kitchen, we found besides for the Wolf stove, an espresso machine, oyster shuckers, plenty of counter space, actual soup bowls you can use for noodle soup, and so many other fun and useful amenities. We found out there is no microwave, but we were flexible and we warmed croissants in the warming oven and oatmeal on the stovetop. The kids loved playing in the treehouse, watching the busy bees flying to and from the bee hives, walking to the Boardwalk, learning how to use the high efficiency fireplace, and roasting s'mores over an open fire. Lovely and fun home.

Our family had the most memorable experience, staying at Upper Seabright, while celebrating my son's graduation from UCSC. It was a perfect house for the whole group, the beds were so soft, the kitchen had everything we needed, the porch was an epic venue for a celebratory dinner/BBQ. We could not have asked for more. I'm only disappointed that we found this perfect VRBO on the last day of my son's UCSC experience. I would have booked it every year. Thank you.
