Studio on Shem Creek with a Deep Water Dock & Views of Freshwater Lake

The hosts go above and beyond to provide everything you could need for an amazing stay and more! The property is absolutely beautiful and the location couldn’t be more ideal to enjoy everything the area has to offer! We biked to the beach, kayaked to the creek restaurants and took a short drive into Charleston! It was perfect!

We had an amazing stay and it was heightened due to the amazing hospitality offered. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. We had a wonderful time being able to kayak Shem Creek and sit and sip coffee and bird watch. The property inside and out was extremely well maintained and had everything you could possibly need. Thank you for an awesome visit to South Carolina!

Beautiful views of Shem creek. Lot of space on the property. Amazing fire pit (unfortunately we didn't get to use it because of rain, but it would have been amazing if weather had cooperated). Room is very nice, modern, and clean. Zero complaints.

The Studio on Shem Creek is absolutely lovely. Perhaps the only thing better was the conscientious and accommodating hosts (who live permanently above in the main house). My wife and I were in town for a wedding and found the private apartment and grounds beautiful and conveniently located. We did not have a car but utilized Uber, the provided bikes, and our own two feet to get around. No problem! That is — until the rain began falling. Charleston and Mount Pleasant experienced historic rainfall (10” in 36 hours!) and some very high tides over our weekend stay. Flash flooding was common but we retreated indoors and enjoyed our luxurious, well appointed apartment. Owner Jackie checked on us as needed and was very accommodating as the apartment developed a small amount of water seepage on the kitchen floor. While not a particular bother to us, our last night we did vacate the apartment early so that the owners could understandably remediate the moisture intrusion before the arrival of the next guests. Jackie assisted in relocating us to another (larger) rental across the street and made sure we had everything we needed - and extended us a few bonus courtesies to boot. I wouldn’t hesitate staying there again and frankly, if staying in Mount Pleasant as a couple, wouldn’t bother looking anywhere else.

The studio on Shem Creek is absolutely amazing, as are the hosts. It was perfectly equipped for all our needs, and beyond. Jackie and Chris are very inviting and available. Should we come back this way we will definitely stay here again.

This is probably my favorite property we've stayed at! The pictures just don't do it justice. It's quiet, peaceful, and those sunsets from the dock each evening are breathtaking. Jackie was an exceptional host too! She even gifted us with Callie's biscuits and their homemade fig jam and honey from their own hives.

Incredibly serene and cozy from the moment we arrived! Loved the two large floor to ceiling windows that framed the tranquil pond just outside the entry door. Super comfortable king bed, perfectly layered with soft linens and pillows. Extra bonus, (should you need to cook) is a complete kitchen with stove, fridge, and open shelving displaying white dinnerware and glass ware. The owners did a fantastic job of combining color, textures, and comfort!! Check in was a breeze with coded entry. We enjoyed our time at the studio and most definitely will return!

My fiancee and I recently returned from a week long stay at the Studio on Shem Creek. We had the best experience during our entire trip. The studio was so spacious and the host had all necessities provided that you could ever ask for. The grounds of the home were pristine and immaculately maintained. If you are looking for the full Charleston experience then you need to stay here! Beautiful grounds to walk on, a pier with stunning views and the gracefulness of the hosts are what truly made this place special for our trip to celebrate our recent engagement. My two daughters and I had a wonderful weekend at the studio on Shem. The property is absolutely beautiful. I wish we had stayed long enough to enjoy all of the wonderful amenities. We look forward to staying again in the future.

The studio was perfect, exactly as advertised but even better. The views from the dock watching the storms roll in were amazing. The studio has everything you need for the perfect getaway. We can say by far this is the best rental property we have stayed in, you won’t be disappointed.

Spacious and clean beautiful studio right near the beach. It had everything we needed and more. Backyard is so peaceful. Absolutely loved it and would for sure stay here again!

I had the most perfect stay! I felt safe and the views on the property can’t be beat! Absolutely no complaints! Sunsets on the dock overlooking the Shem Creek are absolutely breathtaking.

This newly renovated property was gorgeous and I never wanted to leave - I was seriously so sad to leave! The giant windows in the studio look out onto the lake, sitting in the chairs that looked out onto Shem Creek whilst having coffee was perfection, and usage of the kayaks to go to Shem Creek was super cool. The owner was very polite and actually left us biscuits in the freezer which we did make along with some butter and jelly, which was a lovely touch! Coffee was also provided along with shower essentials - another awesome touch. The bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in my life. It was walking distance to a really fun bar called the southern which we had a great time watching a band on Tuesday nights. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful little spot on Shem Creek. Perfect location to do all we love to do in Charleston. This sweet little studio was private, clean, comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. It was extremely affordable and the hosts were very kind. We had a wonderful time. highly recommend this place if you want a nice little getaway.

You cannot beat the location of this house. Close to Charleston, close to the beach, close to all the shopping and history and browsing and dining you could want. The property is amazing, offering views of mature trees, lovely landscaping, inviting lawns, and animal-watching galore. Staying at this home was as much a highlight for us as touring the area. Jackie and Chris have created a true oasis at the Studio at Shem Creek. Many extras are included inside the apartment as well. They are wonderful hosts. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a gem that is a separate open floor plan apartment (ground floor separate entrance from larger house) on Shems Creek just over the big bridge from Charleston. Shopping and dining are walkable but- at the same time- bald eagles and large egrets were 30 yards away from our front door. Kayaking and fishing 50 yards away! Jackie is a superb host who is on-site but maintains a complete professional distance. We originally came for the women's tennis tournament- now we come just to hang out and work from home!

This VRBO has everything to offer. The inside and outside are meticulous. Peacefulness is the key word. If you like, the restaurants on Shem Creek are out of this world. We enjoyed fishing and watching the Eagle’s nest. The host, Nicole couldn’t be friendlier. We really enjoyed our stay.

Chris and Jackie, you have an amazing property inside and out! Communication from start to end was seamless and everything was as advertised. We were especially happy to see the floating boat dock which gave us peace of mind. We cannot wait to come back with our son!

Enjoyed our stay tremendously. Unit is a converted space in a private home with owners in residence. However, the unit is very private, with a separate entrance to the opposite side of the house. Views from the picture windows are of the water, with ducks and other birds visiting throughout the day. We were there 3 nights. The studio is very well-equipped, and could easily accommodate a longer stay. Owner provided thoughtful touches, such as basic condiments, coffee w/sweetener & cream, etc. (They even delivered a small bundt cake for a birthday while we were there.) Owners encouraged us to use and enjoy the property (dock, firepit, outdoor seating), and made us feel at home. Would definitely stay again.

This space is by far one of our favorites that we’ve visited on both coasts. The studio is well appointed and spotless. The interior and grounds are aesthetically pleasing. The space fosters a relaxed state after a busy day exploring and within close proximity of dining and sightseeing. The hosts are accommodating, welcoming and easy to communicate with. The small thoughtful touches prove there is a lot of thought into making the guest comfortable. We look forward to visiting again.

This Shem Creek Studio was everything we could have hoped for and more. Jackie & Chris were so friendly and thoughtful, and I can't say enough about the gorgeous views right outside the windows of the studio. The property was absolutely stunning. After long days of exploring the Charleston area it was so nice to be able to come back to the studio, sit outside and unwind, and simply enjoy the peaceful tranquility while watching the sunset. We'd definitely stay here again - highly recommended!

This is one of the best vacations we have ever had. The studio was perfect, squeaky clean, had all the amenities you could want, plus some. The property is gorgeous with tons of wildlife and beautiful water views. The studio was the perfect location for us, a very sort drive to Charleston and Sullivan's Island. We loved this studio apartment!! It was immaculate, with beautiful decor, and the owners were very kind and responsive to any questions I had for them. The property was so serene and in such a peaceful location - it was truly like an oasis! It was also centrally located for all the sites around the Charleston/Mount Pleasant area that we wanted to see. Everything was perfect! The property was made as if you are family. The bed is outstanding and they even have a noise machine to help you sleep. The property is only a short drive to Charleston and other attractions all within 15 to 20 minute drive. If you had a 10 star rating I would give this property 10 stars!!

Place was amazing close to everything Bed was fantastic view was incredible loved the dock we even got to see dolphins and a terrific sunset loved it all I give this place a 10! We will be back !

Jackie was very responsive to any questions that we had, especially with the threat of a tropical storm. The studio space was perfect for my husband and me, with a private entrance. The extra added touches were really nice, like beach towels/chairs, shower products and delicious biscuits from a local resturaunt. The location, property and views of the river were beuatiful and we can't wait to for our return visit!
