Quiet vacation apartment for 2 - 5 people on the edge of the alpine pasture area

We had a wonderful vacation. This house was located in a quiet little town with very friendly locals. We rented a vehicle and was able to see a lot of Switzerland sites from this location. The house was very clean with a fully stocked kitchen. There was a pasture with cows behind the house...very peaceful. We highly recommend this house!

The chalet was lovely. At the top of the hill in Jaun with a beautiful view. It would be helpful to have something in writing on the property regarding only 2 rolls of toilet paper are provided as well as the single trash bag- this is common in Switzerland, but not in American VRBO’s. The host clarified this and it was no problem to find more in Charmey. Thomas was an excellent host and responded immediately to any questions we had. The on site managers were lovely, but only speak German, so we used google translate to communicate. I would recommend this Chalet for sure!

Stunning location and views are magical! Good access to local attractions and apartment was very clean. Could have sat and looked at the view all day!! Only recommendation would be to have some of the ‘things to do’ binder in English- we don’t speak German. Super trip and highly recommend!

Chalet Barbara is a fantastic property in the Swiss maontain range. It has a great view over the valley and village of Jaun. There are plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, and department stores in close proximity (by car). The drive up from the village of Jaun to the Chalet might let city dwellers shiver, but it is part of the experience. The good news is there is little traffic and the drivers are polite and accomodating to visiting drivers. The Chalet is superbly positioned for trekking and walks in the Swiss countryside. In fact, if you like walking you do not need a car at all, the track starts right at your doorstep and everything is within reasonable walking distance (20-30 min walk - 5 min by car). The Chalet is very well equipped, warm, and very cozy. The host and the caretaker couple are both six-star, e.g. vrbo should label them as 6-star super hosts. The communication was always very easy and the response swift. The entire team made a point to go the extra mile and make our stay exceptional. - The only improvement suggestion I have is to add a washing machine inside the apartment (could possibly be done by replacing the bathtub with a shower, to make space for a washing machine?). There is a communal washing machine in the basement, but it is only accessible through the outside staircase. Nevertheless, this is a minor issue given the overall quality and outstanding location of the chalet. It is nirvana for anyone who likes country living, hiking/skiing, peace of mind, and quietness. Highly recommendable. P.S. There are also cultural performances in the old church in the village of Jaun. Check with the friendly tourist info in the center of the village for the schedule

Very nice, quiet and cosy place, staggering view in the mountains

We had a wonderful holiday in Chalet Barbara. The apartment was excellent, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It was well equipped with even a cheese fondue set. The caretakers were super helpful, having the heating on before our arrival. Brilliant and even the weather was beautiful !

A wonderful chalet with an amazing view over the surrounding mountains. A very clean fully equiped and calm place. The landlord is extremely nice and helpful with so many ideas and advice to visit the region.

The cabin was beautiful and the area we stayed in was amazing. It was a small little town with a waterfall and tons of trees.

The Chalet was well appointed with great views. It all the equipment needed including a Fondue set which we used.
