Stayed Aug 22, 2024We had an amazing 8-day stay in late August. The location is fantastic, with easy access to many of Portland’s best spots and neighborhoods, and the area itself is charming and convenient. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and provided us with lots of helpful information while also respecting our privacy. The accommodation was well-equipped with everything we needed and featured cute, thoughtful decor that made it feel cozy and inviting. Plus, the bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring we got great rest after our adventures. We highly recommend staying here!

Stayed Feb 17, 2026Brick House Beautiful apartment is a wonderful place to stay when visiting Portland. I truly felt like it’s a home away from home. Everything I could’ve wanted or needed was there. Bob and Ann were most welcoming, giving a tour of the house and telling me of the history, which is fascinating. The location is perfect, and the neighborhood is great for walks.

Stayed Nov 1, 2025Excellent friendly hosts. Adorable, fifties vintage decor. The bed was super comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was great and the provided shampoo and conditioner was lovely. Not the cheap stuff. We will stay here again. The Laurelhurst neighborhood and park are beautiful!

Stayed Oct 11, 2025The property was very cute and very nice outdoor gardens to walk-through. Unfortunately, there is somewhat of a strong odor of mildew and possibly moth balls?, especially in the bedroom. Unfortunately, this made my stay unpleasant.

Stayed Oct 7, 2025The hosts are very kind and accommodating. Without us asking for an early check-in, they called us to let us know that we could check in a few hours early and provided both written and verbal directions for easily entering the apartment. Bob suggested some places we could visit, and his choices proved to be excellent. This charming apartment in a beautiful, historic house has everything one could need: a complete, cute kitchen with a stove, oven, microwave, coffee pot, utensils, dishes, pots and pans, and more, a washer and dryer just for guests, soft linens and fluffy towels. The bed is very comfortable, and I noticed that we slept about two more hours than we do at home. (I guess it's time for us to get a new mattress at home.) There is plenty of room for bags and clothing, a TV visible from bed, and a glimpse of the lovely garden out back. A large variety of pretty plants on the property adorn cute seating areas. The beautiful home is in a leafy, upscale, quiet neighborhood that is only about 2-4 miles from scores of restaurants of all kinds-Thai, Indian, Seafood, Mexican, burgers, steaks, and more. It is also near all kinds of coffee providers and bakeries, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe's. It provides easy access (a short drive) to Washington Park (and others) the zoo, Japanese garden, Rose garden, and close enough for easy day trips to GORGEOUS Silver Falls State Park, other waterfalls, and more. You will not regret choosing this lovely property!

Stayed May 23, 2025Staying at “Brick House Beautiful” was truly a joy! The English cottage apartment is decorated in a charming vintage style. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen, Keurig pods, very comfortable bed and all of the little touches that make you feel at home. The gardens and outdoor spaces are beautiful and lovingly cared for. Bob and Ann take great pride in their home, are attentive to their guests and easy to communicate with. Thank you for making our time in Portland so memorable.

Stayed Mar 11, 2025I had a last-minute opportunity to fly into the airshow at something fun in Lakeland and found that nearly every hotel within an hour was fully booked and the few remaining rooms were going for three to 400 a night.I was delighted to find this clean and cozy little camper RV trailer with plenty of room for myself another person and even two children if I had them along. It was in a nice shady drive right next to a wonderful families home and a quiet safe neighborhood. I strongly recommend and will certainly stay there next year when I’m in Lakeland in town for the same convention

Stayed Mar 19, 2025Had a lovely stay at the private cottage, I was in town for a practicum and was able to walk 30 mins each morning regardless of weather and Laurelhurst neighborhood was beautiful to walk. Bob was friendly and greeted me upon arrival. And once I settled in I had complete privacy, it was exactly what I needed after long days of social interaction. The courtyard is so peaceful and beautiful. Hope to visit again next time I make it to Portland.

Stayed Mar 3, 2025I enjoyed my stay at this historic beautiful location in a lovely neighborhood in Portland. The owners were very responsive to any questions I had. The unit had everything I needed for a stay. The kitchen was outfitted with all you need to cook(not that I did!). Coffee and tea were provided, the spice rack was loaded, instant oatmeal and popcorn to pop were in the cupboards, and a small basket of treats was left on the kitchen table for me. I never rented a VRBO that was so organized with labels on all the drawers! Fans and heaters were available if needed. I only wish I was there when the garden was blooming. It looked so inviting with a lot of outdoor furniture to sit in. Hopefully I’ll be back!

Stayed Feb 14, 2025We loved the spot, super cute with vintage furniture! It was a little difficult finding where we supposed to go when we first got there, but that’s only because we showed up very late at night and got a bit lost in the fairytale-esque courtyard.

Stayed Dec 13, 2024This has become my go-to place when I visit Portland. It's good to be familiar with a place and know what you'll find. It's in a historic brick home. Laurelhurst is a great neighborhood and close to where my son and other friends live. The retro furnishings and reproductions take me back to the 1950s when I grew up. The kitchen has everything you need. It's a great space for a single or couple. It wouldn't work for active kids. The owners live upstairs and are available for any questions, but they are unobtrusive and you'll have privacy. The floors are made of tasteful tile. This is good. My 1950s home had the most grotesque linoleum in the world. I'm so glad not to see that again!

Stayed Oct 30, 2024Stayed 3 nights during a relocation. The apartment has everything needed for a comfortable stay, and the decor is thoughtful and retro. Everything ties together so well. Kitchen has a small gas stove, full size refrigerator, and in the “pantry” area has a toaster, microwave and coffee maker. Very convenient for making breakfast in the apartment. Bathroom is well appointed, clean and large. Bedroom has a comfortable bed, and a Roku tv with streaming for entertainment. On street parking was easy, and no problem finding a spot near the property. Highly recommend this apartment!

Stayed Oct 4, 2024The location was perfect for us; close to my son's home. Beautiful neighborhood of older historic homes. This home is brick, and built by a brick company as a demo. You can read the history in the listing and more is available when you arrive. The unit is a small apartment on the lower level and furnished in vintage style. You can pretend it's 60 years ago, but everything is modern, including a washer and dryer. We will be staying here again in the future. The hosts are very cordial, and can fill you in on history and the neighborhood.

Stayed Jul 20, 2024This was an amazing apartment. The path to the apartment is like walking through a European courtyard. The gardens and grounds of this house are amazing and immaculately cared for. The apartment itself is decked out in retro appliances and fixtures, hearkening back to the first years of the house's building. There is rich history with the house that is laid out in the extensive documents that are put together for you to read if you are interested. The location is close to transit options, and there is a grocery store not too far away. The hosts are wonderful people with great stories to tell and are more than open if you are interested in chatting, or if you want time on your own. Highly recommended location for your stay in Portland.
