Stayed Nov 10, 2025Our stay was warm and cozy. Loved the southern charm of our VRBO. Everything was clean, location was perfect, so close to restaurants and shops. Couldn’t have been better. Communication with Virginia was easy and reliable. Only suggestion is a step stool for the bed. I’m 5’ 1” and needed to use the chair. Highly recommend this VRBO!

Stayed Nov 6, 2025My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Carriage House. We were right in the middle of the historic district and everything we wanted to do was within walking distance; shopping, restaurants, historic sites, waterfront parks. Our cosy apartment was furnished with tasteful antiques and the kitchen had amenities galore! There was a private backyard patio and fountain to relax by after a busy day of sightseeing. Virginia, our host, could not have been more accommodating and friendly. We look forward to our next stay in this historic house in Charleston!

Stayed Oct 9, 2025I highly recommend the 1770 carriage house. The location is perfect so easy to walk to everything. The parking garage is about 2 blocks away. The property was immaculate. The tiny kitchen was efficient with everything you need. The area was quiet and if it hadn’t rained the entire time we would have enjoyed the outdoor area with the fountain. The hostess was great and checked on us to see if there was anything we needed. She even had umbrellas available. I can’t think of anything negative at all about this rental. Will definitely stay here again when visiting Charleston.

Stayed May 8, 2025Quiet and cozy upstairs apartment within walking distance of shops, restaurants, College of Charleston and more. We loved the location and communication with hosts was great. The apartment was a mix of old and new. Kudos to the designer for fitting a fully functional kitchen in such a tight space! The bathroom was lovely with generous towels. The entire space was spotlessly clean. Highly recommended! Caveat for those with mobility issues due to stairs and tight spaces.

Stayed Apr 10, 2025Lovely 2nd floor apartment. Clean, quiet, lovely and convenient. If I had to find a fault it would be that the bed isn’t the most comfortable but not so bad that I wouldn’t recommend the place without hesitation.

Stayed Mar 15, 2025The property is at an excellent location within walking distance of restaurants and other sights of Charleston. The house is charming. There were two problems though. One, there is no designated parking; we needed to park on the street. For the relatively high rental charges, the property should provide parking. Second, the bed was ridicularly high off the ground; we worried about injury.

Stayed Oct 22, 2024Terrific home base to explore and enjoy this wonderful city. South Of Broad is a gorgeous neighborhood and being able to stay in a historically significant location makes enjoying this city even more special. The apartment is lovely, quiet, comfortable, well maintained, and stocked with everything you might need for a comfortable and convenient stay. Lovely linens, very clean, and a very comfortable bed. I did an extended 2 week stay, it quickly felt like home, and I was a bit sad to pack up and leave. The property exceeded my expectations. Would gladly stay here again and worry it has spoiled me.

Stayed Sep 19, 2024We thoroughly enjoyed our 2nd stay at this carriage house. It is located perfectly for walking throughout Charleston, is quite clean, and has all the amenities you would want. We can highly recommend it. (The owner provides a picture of the spiral staircase from the ground floor to the actual apartment, so be mindful of that if stairs are a challenge for you.)
