Stayed Apr 28, 2023We had an amazing 5 night stay at Casa Contenda. The elevated ocean front patio was stunning. Thoroughly enjoyed meeting our hosts Lin y Jim. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location of the property was the best in Los Ayalas.

Stayed Oct 11, 2022My boyfriend and I just returned from a weeklong stay at Casa Contenta and couldn't be happier with our decision to stay here! The photos don't do justice to the beauty of the property and the Terrace Suite! Meticulously landscaped and cared for, with the beach just steps away. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation and hope to return!

Stayed Aug 28, 2017The bungalow Casa Contenta has the signature of the owner's good taste for the Mexican Talavera ornaments. It has a big bedroom for two people with beautiful wood furniture and windows. There is a huge terrace where you can enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the beach. Plus, being at the end of the beach makes it more secluded. The kitchen has all the appliances needed to cook a feast. A nice garden to enjoy a sunny day under tall coconut palm trees. It rained in the afternoons which just made it cozy and different from the sunny mornings. Maricela and Samuel went far and beyond to accomodate my 82 year old mother as the third guest in our bedroom. The opportunity to have my small dog, Ashley, with us was the final wonderful touch. I honestly believe Los Ayala is the best beach in Bahia de Banderas. This property is the perfect match to have it all!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969“Loved our vacation” My husband and I loved Casa Contenta. It was a beautiful place right on the beach. As we slept we could hear the waves of the ocean. It was so relaxing and being right on the beach was wonderful. Jim and Lin were excellent hosts. They showed us what restaurants were good to eat in and often we would go as a group to eat. I think the word we used the most was fun. We had so much fun at Casa Contenta meeting other guests, going out for lunch just down the beach at Juan's restaurant, having all the vendors coming to us on the beach selling their stuff, buying custard donuts from the man carrying the tray on his head, walking the beach and enjoying people with big smiles on their faces, sitting back and enjoying the 60's band on the beach while the rain poured down from hurricane Sandra, the mariachi band at the local restaurant. We have so many memories of the sun and surf. The decor of Casa Contenta was amazing and we loved looking at all the decor and tiles and how the suites were put together. The best part of our trip was going to the dog shelter. We brought back one dog for a person who rescued a dog off the beach, paid for all her vet bills and brought her back to health. The dog wasn't ready to come to Victoria when the owner left so we brought her back with us. It was a joyful reunion in the airport. We also fostered a little terrier rescue when we were at Casa Contenta and of course we turned out to be failed foster parents and we kept her and she is the best little puppy and we love her. We are so glad we went to Casa Contenta and have already planned our next visit.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Casa Contenta is a funky place to stay ( lots of color and art!) that couldn't give you a better or closer Mexican beach and village experience. Lin and Jim are exceptional hosts and their place is beautiful, comfortable and spotless. I would go back in a flash.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Great place to visit. It is a shame to find so much garbage on the streets and beach. Especially monday morning. I do not fault the visitors so much as the local government and greedy hotels and bungalows. Where are the garbage cans for people to put there garbage? Why are the locals ok with garbage and graffiti? Culture? I will not go again and I recommend you go to Puert Vallarta, cleaner much cleaner

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We first heard about Casa Contenta through a friend of the family and went there in 2008 to celebrate my 30th birthday. We kept in touch with Lin & Jim over the next several years, and in 2014, met family and friends to spend a week there. In a nutshell, these are the some of the great things that make Lin & Jim’s getaway in paradise worth coming back to: Surroundings • Authentic Mexican vacation experience – a refreshing departure from cookie-cutter resorts that are catered to mainstream American tastes. • Breath-taking tropical surrounds on a protected cove with one of the best swimming beaches we’ve ever been to. • A quiet, down-to-earth villa, where “party” is defined as evening drinks on the beach and night swimming with family and friends. Those who want a more social scene can easily get a cheap taxi to the adjoining towns for a little nightlife. Accommodations • If you’re into architecture, home remodeling, and the like, you’ll drool over all the artful details of Lin & Jim’s lovely Casa (including its beautiful recent addition with a slightly more modern take and a HUGE patio for BBQing and parties). They are happy to give you a tour. • Rooms are in traditional Mexican style, comfortable, and have the kitchen basics so you can stock up at the market and cook at home. The beds are traditional as well, which for me means very firm – don’t expect pillow top. • Beautiful tropical plants surround the yard, which faces directly to the beach, so you can feel like you’re hanging on the beach in the privacy of your own yard. Lin’s work doing animal rescue is another aspect of Casa Contenta that makes it feel like it’s a Home Away from Home. As dog lovers, it’s so nice to have some 4-legged friends on site to mingle with. During our recent trip, I loved getting to know sweet little Uki. We look forward to our next trip, where we hope to meet friends and family again to stay in the new suite.
