Stayed Sep 14, 2025We enjoyed our stay here and got used to the walk to the various places in the city centre we wanted to visit. The walk is a bit convoluted but we found the shortest route by our final day. The apartment was more tired than we expected with stations in the carpet and couch but overall good value for our money. Kitchen was well equipped and two bathrooms was great. Not a bad place to share with friends.

Stayed Jul 12, 2025Flat was ok. I had no communication regarding check in so couldn’t find the flat or keys. Had to phone Vrbo and keep them on the phone while they sent me check in info. Flat smelt like Indian spices (like a kebab shop) so much so we had to go buy a candle and air freshener. Cheap toilet roll is no use either

Stayed May 14, 2025Damp and dirty towels left behind, dishes were dirty, sheets didn't fit the bed. This compounded by broken wardrobe door and mould around the shower alcove. The place was in better condition when we left. Location was OK. If you put the table up you couldn't move in the kitchen.

Stayed Apr 22, 2025We stayed here for two weeks and were pleased with our choice. Located in Canonmills it's convenient both to Princes Street/The Royal Mile and Leith. If you don't want to walk, you can take the Lothian 8 bus from the Rodney Street stop around the corner from the Tesco up to either St. James Quarter at Leith Street or South Bridge. The 36 from Broughton Road will get you to Leith, or you can head down McDonald Road to the tram station. Beds were comfy; it was nice and clean; the carpet and furniture a little worn, but that's to be expected and I've stayed in hotels with grungier furnishings!); and having an elevator was great since I use a cane.My only real complaint was that the window treatments don't do much to block the light. Not a problem in winter, but for late April/early May, we were up early with the sun. I'd suggest bringing a sleep mask if you want to sleep in!Communication with the host was prompt and clear, which was good because we had a broken closet handle that needed repairs. We knew when the engineer was coming, so no surprises. Also I appreciated not having to do a deep clean on our way out. Made our last morning very relaxed! So if you're looking for an Edinburgh stay that's a little off the beaten path but still easy to access Waverley and the major sites with some public transportation or walking? It's a good location. (I would get a cab to and from Waverley though - it's about a mile away over sidewalks interspersed with cobblestone streets.)

Stayed Apr 13, 2025From the moment we arrived, our time in this flat was awful! First, the keys were not where we were told and I eventually determined it was because the cleaning people weren’t done, so we got into the flat 30 minutes late. As we settled in, my daughter discovered the handle on her closet door was broken. I can’t understand how the cleaning people didn’t notice it. I tried calling the host to report the issue, but after being on hold for 15 minutes, I decided to email instead. It took 3 emails to get a response. The next evening, we returned from dinner and turned on the television. It has no service. We found a Netflix app, but the TV was so old, the screen quality was very poor. On our 3rd night, we were awoken at 3am when the smoke alarm went off and couldn’t be turned off. After considerable effort, I was able to disconnect the device so we could all get back to sleep, but that meant forgoing the protection the device provides. The next day, we did a small load of laundry only to discover that the dryer doesn’t work, so we had to hang our wet clothes around the flat to dry overnight. Every time we had a problem, I tried to call the host by phone and every time, I sat on hold and wound up emailing them. Responses to emails were slow in coming. I’m not sure why they even have a phone. They clearly don’t answer it. In my last email, I suggested a partial refund was in order. I was told they would review my case and I haven’t heard back.

Stayed Nov 21, 2024Our stay on Hatters Lane during our trip to Edinburgh was incredible. We were sufficiently close to get to all areas of London by taxi, Uber, or bus. O'Connors pub, a short walk from the property, had fabulous meals and there were two groceries in walking distance. This property was exactly as advertised and was greatly appreciated.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969There was plenty of space in this apartment accommodation for up to four ppl to stay comfortably. It was quiet for the most part as well as being safe and secure. Close enough to walk to St. Andrew Square and other downtown attractions if you are up for it-about a 20-25 minute walk. If not an Uber ride was about 7 pounds during off-peak times. The self-check-in process provided plenty of instructions, but I felt like I was on a treasure hunt. Could also be challenging after dark or for someone who doesn't have the greatest vision to work the combination lock to access the key box. Instructions could have been provided on accessing the wifi, working the electronic shower in the stand-alone bathroom, locking the door from the inside, operating the washing machine/dryer and where to empty garage or recycling. Unfortunately we just left it for the cleaning people, but this wasn't normally something I would do. The property seemed generally clean, but more attention to detail needed when dusting, felt uncomfortable using the utensils after finding a box of condoms in the same drawer. A few extra rolls of toilet paper, some paper towel and facial tissue would have been fantastic as well.
