I have lived in Sellwood for over 20 years and, in our opinion, it's by far the best place to be in Portland... welcome! If you are coming for work, to visit with family, or simply want to explore and relax, you are sure to find comfort during your stay!

The Space
The private studio is very quiet, offering a cozy space you will quickly settle into. It has been built to match the style of the bungalow home built in 1915. While it doesn't have a kitchen, everything is new... refrigerator, toaster, coffee pour over, and hot water pitcher. All the furnishings, linens, and Smart TV... all are new. Very clean and comfortable, naturally cool in the summer (fantastic insulation), warm in the winter... this space is settled in the magical town of Sellwood. Many have shared that this is the best VRBO they have stayed in. We are grateful for the overwhelmingly positive response.

Guest access
We have a seasonal garden, a terraced, outside space in which you can listen to the soft sounds of a water feature.
Other things to note
Netflix is available!

The room was very clean and the setting was private. The host suggested places to see and dine. I especially liked the tastefully decorated room and nice sheets.

The property was cute, cozy, and nice! The only issue I have is the lack of actual privacy. The curtains on the door are not blackout curtains, so you can see inside the entire studio very clearly at night. There are also three windows with no curtains, and two of those have a direct view from a neighbor’s window. This includes the bathroom. Said windows are high up, but I am 6’. So it was awkward getting out of the shower at night, and the doors are still an issue.

The place was perfect for my needs. Great location, very clean and private, had all the basic supplies, bed was comfy and the host was very helpful. I will definitely stay there again, especially when the weather is nicer. It’s super close to a great park! Only recommendation would be a light in the driveway as the area can be very dark. The sensor light past the driveway is very bright, which is great.

I had a great experience in this cozy apartment. Scot went the extra mile for me when I had a family emergency; making it possible for me to extend my stay unexpectedly. I am thoroughly familiar with Portland, OR and always prefer to stay in walkable locations like Sellwood. It is my favorite part of town for its easy access to food, boutiques, and nature. This apartment is just a few minutes on foot to all of these things. I highly recommend staying here if you have the opportunity.

The property was in a great neighborhood. Near shops and restaurants. The host was very available to answering questions and telling us abt the location. We were visiting family so we did not stay at our room most of the time. There was not a sink in the area Of the microwave and refrigerator but the bathroom sink worked fine for us since we weren't fixing meals there. A pleasant experience.

Hosts attentive and accommodating. Location within walking distance of a fantastic bakery, a ramen restaurant, a bottle shop, coffee shop, a park with walking trails and a bike path along the Willamette River. The cottage is comfortable, quiet, private. Hope to return to this special place.

Nice, quiet place. Great for relaxing away from the hustle & bustle of the city but a short drive to everything. Walking distance to center of Sellwood and two great parks. The only thing about the unit is the lack of a sink to wash dishes in, rinse out coffee maker, etc.Otherwise, terrific place.

The place is private, cozy and in a good spot. I didn’t have the best stay though because the studio is attached to a “working garage”. The owner was renovating the garage and was banging, sawing, drilling and making a heck of a racket (enough to shake the knobs on the armoire) . The owner did advise that they were renovating the garage but not until after 2 days of constant racket. Then the roof started leaking and almost on the bed. That’s when I decided to leave. All that said, I thought the host was very nice but this place needs updating . Several boards collapsed off the fence while I was there as well. I feel that this place has a lot of potential but good lord don’t be hammering and banging when I’m trying to rest. It went on one night til after 9:15.

Myself and my partner stayed at Scot’s place in Portland for a few nights - and it was amazing. He was super communicative and helpful, and the space had everything we needed for our stay. Not to mention, the location was GREAT. Food, coffee, retail - all within walking distance, so we barely had to drive at all during our stay. Highly highly recommend staying here :)

The place was neat and tidy. The only water in kitchenette was in jug with a spigot. Big city water usually is not desirable to drink so this most likely was a plus. My only complaint ( and mostly my carelessness) when i went to my inbox to get the check in code that I had not made a note of elsewhere there were at least 100 if not 10,000 ads with the label VRBO and. I couldn’t isolate the one I needed. After about an hour it finally popped up!! Like I said that was not Scot’s doing. I loved the location!

This was a perfect place to stay for my Portland visit. a standalone studio; roomy, enough kitchen amenities (kettle, microwave, mini fridge), comfortable bed, and room to sit and enjoy a moment. Thoughtfully appointed with everything I needed. Spent the first part of my stay solo, them my partner joined me. Plenty of room for both of us. And the location couldn't be better, near parks, running trails, health-food store, and great food!

My daughter(21) and I stayed at this absolutely charming property during a recent visit to Portland. Scot and Trish have gone out of their way to make this studio homey and comfortable; the perfect relaxing landing pad after a day of adventures. The property is located in a cute neighborhood that is very walkable with a large park just up the block, with lots of Pokémon(in case that’s your thing 😁). We both really enjoyed our stay and hope to stay here again in the future

Great place to stay for a few days. All I needed was somewhere to stay the nights, to change clothes, and to clean up after a long day. The rest of the time, I was a short walk away having fun at Oaks Park for their annual Oktoberfest. This studio is quiet and comfortable, tucked away in a wooded garden. I always ate out, so I do not know whether bringing food in is convenient. This is just the perfect place for what I needed.

For such a small place, it didn't feel one but small. We already live in small area, (450 sf) but for some reason, because of the openness, it seemed larger. Owner listed some great places to eat and took advantage of his suggestions.

This was my 2nd stay here and my only regret was that I couldn’t stay longer! The hosts were so accommodating when I requested to leave my luggage a few hours before check in time. I had a lot of expensive medical equipment with me that I needed to get out of my car on a very hot day, and they bent over backwards to make it happen. Thanks for everything! Hope to return next year!
