* This space is a patio apartment located in a half-basement with tons of light.

*There is an additional unit above this rental in the same home. If you happen to be traveling with a larger party, we'd be happy to coordinate a rental to accommodate your friends or family.

*The bathroom of this space adjoins Ladles Soups' kitchen. Occasionally a sound or two may be heard emanating from the kitchen; however, this space is completely cordoned off and separated from this very tasty soup, salad, and sandwich shop.

* All Charleston homes in the historic footprint of the city - which this rental falls into - must abide by strict renovation mandates. As such all of our rentals must feature single pane glass to reflect the look and feel of the original home dating back to the 1800s. As such, noise does travel and we ask that all guests who rent from us here and at our properties adjacent please be respectful of neighbors at all times and especially watch noise levels when coming and going after 10p.m. for the enjoyment of all guests.

* Loud noise and partying will not be tolerated.

Beautiful room with endless little details illustrating its charm. If you’re looking for 1-2 nights close to everything on Kings St. this is your spot.

The place and location were amazing. Exactly what we expected and looking for. The post was transparent about the stairs and size. You need to understand that you will go down a spiral staircase with luggage. You need to understand that the room and shower is smaller than a standard hotel room. If you understand and accept those items, the place is amazing. If you don't have an understanding of them, you could be disappointed. We loved the place. It's a great vibe and in a great location - close to King St but away and quiet. We would 100% go back. Thank you for a great stay.

We probably should have booked a larger room, but we had everything we needed and then some. This is a very well thought out listing and a beautifully located and appointed room.

We love this place, its our second time here. Ladles, the soup and sandwich shop at the front of the house is awesome and Southbound a gourmet restaurant nextdoor was also incredible. Try to get at the chef's counter. About 3 blocks to King St. Bring your bike's and park your car.

We did not receive any check in information and therefore had to call the property manager to get in. He was wonderful and right across the street but we felt we should have been given the information before hand. The unit is TINY - small would be too large a word but it is beautiful. I would recommend it for a single traveler with an overnight bag. There is no room for clothes to be hung up (no closet space). The water never gets above warm (we called and a plumber came but did nothing to help the temperature). We had to park behind vehicles for three of the four nights we were there because there is only room for three vehicles and the parking is shared with other units. Lastly and likely the biggest disappointment was that there is NOT a hot tub or a spa as advertised. Downtown is not what I would call walking distance but it is a short drive. This was my husband’s birthday and we gave up a room at the Market Pavillon right downtown to stay here. It was a fine stay but we can’t help but feel it would have been so much better if we stayed in our original spot.

We loved our stay, especially the location. It is within walking distance of some great restaurants. Our favorite was the one located in the basement that serves homemade soups and sandwiches. It is a small space but has everything you need for a romantic weekend getaway. The owners have done a beautiful job restoring the historical home.
