The property was ideally located to be able to walk into town but not be bothered by the hustle and bustle. The property was clean, easy to find, had everything we needed.

Home was in a great location and well within walking distance to the train station, bus station, and the rest of the core region of Edinburgh. Since its at the end of the royal mile, there's considerably less foot traffic, but if you are sensitive to road noise you may not like staying here as its right at the end of a busy roundabout. Its light and roomy and the kitchen is a really nice bonus. The only cons about this home were the bed and bathroom amentities. The mattress was extremely firm and only one piece of bedding is provided. If you’re exhausted after a long day of touring it wont matter much, but don't expect to nestle into a cozy and cushy bed. The pillows were also the cheap and hard fiberfill kind that are thin and flat. Also bring your own shower supplies as this flat does not provide their own (aside from a shampoo/shower gel combo I found a few days into the stay). I was disappointed that after 24 hours of traveling I still had to go out and buy my own shampoo, conditioner, and soap (which I left behind for the next guests) before settling in for the night. Overall I'd stay at this flat again and would recommend it to others looking to stay in the area.

The flat was beautiful and spacious, the kitchen and living space was clean and had everything I needed to cook, and the location was perfect to get to and from the city centre! Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Although a good location, I would describe this flat as shabby. On arrival, the lock box was difficult to operate and it looked as if others had struggled with it too. The mattress on the bed ( my first concern) was worn out- soft and lumpy. The sheet, duvet and mattress pad were threadbare. The bathroom towels were minimal. The entry had not been swept in weeks, there was no door mat to wipe your feet and not a carpet in the place. The floors were clean to begin with but became grubby. The flat needed to be repainted and the kitchen cabinets were damaged. One coffee maker was broken and the other had a filter that had not been removed and had molded. It’s sad because the bathroom was updated, the kitchen was well equipped. It was quite a contrast to other flats that we have rented in the past. We were disappointed and would not recommend this flat. MJ

The title sums it up! What the images and description indicate are accurate. This space would be craped with more than 2 adult and a child, but its perfect for solo travellers or couples. Nice distance to everything youre likely to habe at the top of your must see list in Edinburgh. It was a little noisy outside while we were there, but it is the high season and right across the street from Holyrood. Noise would be present anywhere in the downtown area. The novelty of having an honest-to-goodness castle out your front window is fantastic. Would recommend to others.

I don’t like leaving negative reviews so I’ll start with the positives:Unbeatable location at the bottom of the Royal Mile Well equipped kitchen Good supply of essentials like coffee and toilet rollGreat WiFiNegatives:The traffic noise is the big one. I had to buy earplugs to sleep after being woken at 5am the first morning. The lock on the front door was a bit flimsy. I didn’t feel comfortable leaving valuables in the flat. Saying that I was there for 10 days and had no issues with security. No washing machine although that was made clear in the listing. The nearest laundry is a 20 minute walk away minimum. There is a lovely jacuzzi bath but the plug didn’t work so I couldn’t use. I admit I didn’t report this and it may have been fixed immediately if I had done. This place has a lot of good reviews and lots of lovely comments in the guest book so it was maybe just me. I live in a very quiet place and have very good hearing so maybe the noise bothered me more than most people.

This city apartment has a cottage feel with all the amenities of home. The location is close to all the sights, especially the palace. We happened to be there during Holyrood/Royal Week and enjoyed watching all the garden party guests arriving in their royal garden party best.

Decent spot, as advertised, price point good for location - did find a lack of good dinner spots in the area unless you hiked back up the hill. Grocery decently close if you are looking to cook though...

Our stay at Canongate was great. A little bit of a further walk than most places on the Royal Mile, but it worked perfectly for us and allowed us to see everything from end to end. The flat was EXACTLY as listed.

We stayed at this flat for 6 nights in mid October. We could see Hollyrood House from the front window! It is a great location for wandering around Edinburgh and seeing all the historic sites. The apartment was clean and nicely laid out. The kitchen and bathroom were well equipped.

Property was great if you want to be in a an easy walk right off the Royal mile. You are right at a busy traffic circle which was noisy during the day. Kept our blinds closed all day because people were walking by all day. Living room furniture is tired but the rest as fine. Accommodation was very clean.

Couldn’t fault the location of the property for easy access to the attractions on offer in Edinburgh. Good size of property for 2 people. Well equipped & comfy bed but the recliner armchair has seen better days. The main drawback for us was the outside noise of others during the night. The secondary double glazing fitted to the bedroom window obviously helps mitigate to some extent but does not resolve the issue entirely for light sleepers such as ourselves. Blackout blinds would be better in the bedroom, as would a small blind at the front door window to reduce the impact of streetlights. This didn’t however detract from the enjoyment we had visiting Edinburgh.

Great location but be prepared for pedestrian and traffic noise. We enjoyed being able to step out the door and walk up through Old Town and up to the Royal Mile. Lots of restaurants, coffee shops, souvenirs shops. Nice quick walk to hike Arthur’s Seat and Jacuzzi tub for after all the walking.Little kitchen with everything you need. Nescafé machine and coffee maker but you’ll need to buy coffee as there is only instant coffee. Bed is comfy. Nothing too fancy but a good place to stay.
