The Space:
<br>Welcome to Brick & Beam, an intimate luxury garden residence tucked inside one of Savannah's historic treasures.

Built in 1855 for George S. Gray, this remarkable brick residence has stood in the heart of Savannah's Historic District for more than 170 years. Today, its garden apartment offers something increasingly difficult to find: a stay that feels authentically historic, genuinely luxurious and unmistakably Savannah.

This is not a generic vacation rental dressed to look old.

The history is quite literally all around you.

Massive exposed timber beams stretch across extraordinary wood-plank ceilings. Original brick walls bring warmth and texture throughout the apartment. Historic fireplaces and architectural details speak to the home's 19th-century origins, while carefully selected furnishings, brass accents, beautiful lighting and an impressive collection of artwork create the feeling of a private designer residence.

The home is owned and curated by a high-end designer, and that sensibility is apparent throughout. Antique-inspired pieces sit comfortably beside contemporary furnishings. Historic textures are celebrated rather than covered. Artwork has been collected and placed intentionally, creating rooms that feel layered, sophisticated and residential rather than staged.

THE LIVING ROOM

The living room may be our favorite space in the apartment.

Exposed brick surrounds the room while enormous original-style timber beams and a wood-plank ceiling create an atmosphere you simply cannot reproduce in new construction.

A historic fireplace anchors the space, while comfortable upholstered seating, curated artwork, warm lighting and polished brass details create an inviting place to settle in after exploring Savannah.

Curl up with a book, enjoy a glass of wine before dinner, or simply look around. Brick & Beam is a home where the architecture itself is part of the experience.

THE BEDROOM

The bedroom continues the home's sophisticated, collected aesthetic with a beautifully dressed bed, layered textiles, statement artwork and carefully chosen furnishings.

The mood is intentionally quieter here, creating a comfortable retreat from the energy of downtown Savannah.

THE KITCHEN + DINING AREA

The kitchen blends modern convenience with the home's historic character.

Warm cabinetry, stone countertops, stainless appliances and thoughtful lighting sit beneath dramatic wood ceilings and exposed beams. An adjoining dining area creates an intimate place for breakfast, takeout from one of Savannah's exceptional restaurants, or a bottle of wine before heading out for the evening.

One of our favorite details is the historic preservation recognition displayed within the home, a subtle reminder that you're staying somewhere with a real place in Savannah's architectural story.

THE BATHROOM

The bathroom carries the same elevated aesthetic through rich finishes, beautiful hardware, warm wood tones and carefully considered details.

It is polished and modern without feeling disconnected from the historic residence surrounding it.

YOUR PRIVATE GARDEN COURTYARD

Then there is the garden.

Step outside and Brick & Beam opens into a beautiful private courtyard reserved exclusively for this apartment.

Historic brick walls surround a secluded outdoor retreat filled with mature greenery, tropical plantings, oversized planters and comfortable furnishings. Bluestone paving and multiple seating areas create an elegant extension of the apartment itself.

Start the morning here with coffee beneath the trees.

Come back in the afternoon for a quiet break between exploring Savannah's squares.

Pour a glass of wine before dinner.

Or return after an evening downtown and enjoy the stillness of your own garden in the middle of the Historic District.

Unlike many downtown properties, this courtyard is not shared with other guests. During your stay at Brick & Beam, the garden is yours.

Guest Access:

Guests have private access to the entire Brick & Beam garden apartment during their stay.

Most importantly, guests also have exclusive access to the furnished private garden courtyard shown in the photographs. This is not a communal courtyard shared with other rentals.

The apartment has its own private living spaces, kitchen, bathroom and laundry facilities, allowing you to settle in and experience Savannah more like a resident than a hotel guest.

Self check-in makes arrival easy, and once you're here, one of the greatest luxuries is how rarely you'll need a car.

The Neighborhood:

Brick & Beam puts you in an extraordinary pocket of Savannah's National Historic Landmark District, surrounded by some of the city's most beautiful architecture.

The residence sits beside Monterey Square, one of Savannah's celebrated historic squares, laid out in 1847 and centered around the Pulaski Monument. The square is also home to the famous Mercer-Williams House and sits along Savannah's beautiful Bull Street corridor.

Just south of Monterey Square is Forsyth Park, while immediately north you'll find Madison Square and some of the city's most celebrated architecture, shops and restaurants.

And only a block away is Jones Street, frequently regarded as one of Savannah's most beautiful streets.

This is the kind of location where the walk to breakfast becomes sightseeing.

Within roughly a quarter mile

You have an extraordinary amount of Savannah within just a few blocks of the front door.
