The location is amazing- in the jungle and facing the river. The property is clean and well maintained. Our room had a foam pad instead of a mattress, so too soft for me. I don’t know if all the beds are that way.

Our stay was comfortable, the view was beautiful. I found a hammock on the patio which was a fun place to relax. There wasn’t much fancy or extra but it was good enough for a good sleep and relaxation when we were there. We didn’t try to cook there. It does have a large refrigerator and jug of bottled water. Communication and how to check in was a little slow but we figured it out just fine. It was fun going across the little river on the makeshift bridge. The river trickling right outside was nice, the mountains and all the beautiful flowers were our view. We loved hiking to the hidden beaches.

Overall an average stay. The place is spacious, and the balcony is nice to have. However, there are a few negatives to mention, and hopefully they can be improved.1) The listing says there is laundry, however when we were there we were told there is no laundry. Given that we are a family with kids, we planned our laundry days in this apartment, and it was disappointing not to be able to do it. However, the building does have laundry, but we were told that previous guests did not maintain the laundry and therefore the laundry was not allowed anymore (but some other guests were allowed to use them while we were there, which was odd)2) The kitchen utensils/plates/glasses can be improved significantly. There were 2 glasses that were leaking, and most of the plates were damaged. The stove top provided was extremely hard to operate.3) The communication with the on-site property manager and the approach was odd at times. Our kids are slightly scared of large dogs given their age, but the dog of the property manager was off-leash and roaming around the building most of the time. It was clear that the kids were intimidated, and I had to tell for the dog to be kept on leash. Also when asked for questions for local help, such as how to get a taxi, and which beach to go to, there wasn't much help4) My view is that this property has seen better days, and hence the existing rating reflects that past, but it no longer deserves that rating. The printed guide mentions things like hot-t

Property you have to cross a small bridge. A real pain in the rear.

This is our second stay at La Posada Pacifica. We love it and hope to return again and again. This is an excellent location for our preferred vacation, which includes lots of opportunities to hike and travel by bus to neighboring areas exploring. We hop on the bus and go to Puerta Vallarta or Mismaloyor or El Tuito to restaurants. This location is so central, that iseasy to travel by bus or water taxi. We come to Boca to take a slower pace in life. We enjoy the views from the balcony of our open air suite. The suite is shaded for most of the day and we love the view of the Riveria del Rio, the Sierra Madre mountains, and Banderas Bay. We sit and can experience the simple life in Boca from our balcony. Unfortunately the bridge across the river was destroyed in a hurricane and Boca is busier with cars than we remember, but neither affected the enjoyment of our stay. Cynthia, Pierre and Antoine are the perfect hosts, and it's reassuring to know they are always available if needed. If you want to relax and enjoy travelling on the local bus and making your own experiences, then I highly recommend staying here.

My husband and I just spend a month in Boca de Tomatlan. The accommodations were perfect for us. We loved the hiking trails, beaches, and local bus accessibility to Puerto Vallerta and other surrounding towns. Thank you Cynthia & Pierre to make our stay memorable. See you next year! We visited Boca for 5 days and would have stayed longer. We loved the breezy balcony and open rooms at the Posada, and enjoyed getting to cook our own meals. Boca was a fun spot to explore - our young daughter could play in the stream every day, and it was easy to hop on a bus or boat to nearby spots for adventures. The hosts were always helpful! Thank you.

We needed a one night stay before catching a water taxi to Los Chonchos. This property was the perfect answer for us. The listing was accurate, Cynthia and her family were very helpful with our bags at check-in and check-out. It was easily accessible to the local restaurants for dinner and the pier to get the water taxi the next morning. Beds were comfortable, AC worked well, and the room had a nice view to the river. Thank you for a great start to our vacation.

I want to just say good things, but there were a few that were not. This place is hard to find as a first timer. Although we were given directions, it was still confusing. It was surprising to find that there is a precarious, makeshift bridge to cross with luggage. There is also a swinging cable-plank bridge, but there is no longer a concrete bridge. Boca has its charm, but is chaotic and dusty and confusing on the weekends, if you happen to arrive there like we did. Our posada was okay, but for instance the pans were old and had no lids. Beds very soft. There are not any little kindnesses there like salt, sugar or cooking oil, but maybe that is due to Covid. No toiletries provided. The toilet itself had a seat too small for the stool, which could be dangerous for a bigger person, and was annoying to say the least. The owners need to completely update their information packet and perhaps their online info too. Cynthia was helpful when asked for info. We had no interaction other than that, but would have liked to. It was nice that they let us use the laundry, such as it is. The laundry and the room next to it with the books could use a good cleaning. The vibe is very chill, which is good, but the FYI, environment is loud, with roosters, dogs, vehicles and boom boxes blaring. Viva Mexico! We enjoyed the hike to Las Animas, but be warned that it is difficult and somewhat dangerous. The waiters at the beach cafes were wonderfully kind. We loved the Jardin Botanico de Vallarta. All in all, it was okay, but my opinion is that this hotel is expensive for what it is. We have traveled extensively and have stayed in many types of situations in many countries, including other parts of Mexico, and we are not looking for luxury or special treatment by any means. We love nature and the outdoors, so this seemed the right place. We purposely look for little posadas like this one, as we are not the all-inclusive resort types and generally enjoy local ambience. I am just giving my personal opinion of the experience, as someone who has stayed in a variety of situations. I hope the owners will take it as constructive criticism, and not personally! I do thank them for providing the opportunity to visit Boca de Tomatlan.

My husband, myself, our two young boys, and two dogs, stayed at this wonderful hotel for one month. The location is amazing, overlooking the river, surrounded by lush vegetation and flowers. The beach is just minutes away, which made it so easy to take my boys swimming everyday. Just a 5 minute walk across the bridge, you will find little shops and a convenience store with everything you need. The hotel itself is beautiful, full of character with spacious units. Every unit has a balcony overlooking the river, bringing a fresh cool breeze inside, which we just loved. Sitting on our balcony was one of our favourite things to do during our stay. The beds were super comfortable! The unit was nicely decorated, furnished and very clean. We truly felt like home while we were there! The owners, Cynthia, Pierre and their son Antoine, were simply amazing. They were very friendly, kind, generous, and made us feel so welcome! They constantly went over and above to make us feel at home. Although the location in Boca De Tomatlan, as well as the gorgeous hotel were paradise on earth for our family, it was the owners who truly made our stay extra special. Thank you so much, Cynthia, Pierre and Antoine, for giving us the vacation of a lifetime, and for treating us like family! We will definitely come back!

This property is very well managed. It's clean, secure and in a fabulous location. The hosts are responsive and friendly. They went out of their way several times to make sure I had everything I needed. We will definitely be back, and I highly highly recommend staying here.
