Our fairly basic and compact studio has a queen size bed, clothes rail, a few 'cube' style drawers, a sofa, coffee table and an en-suite shower room.
There is a tall table and stools where you can eat inside and a bench table outside.
Freeview TV, CD & DVD player.
The kitchenette is equipped with: kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge, sink and utensils (please note there is NO oven).
The heat pump has been temperamental so we've put in a panel heater with a timer, for the colder months.
Ranch slider doors open onto a patio where there is an old BBQ you can use; if you use it, please use the black BBQ vinyl as the grill is rusty & clean up as best you can afterwards. It isn't brilliant, but it is there. Thank you :o).
The garden has views across to Labyrinth Rocks.
The spiders who frequent the patio erea are prolific, you will be able to marvel at their work. We try to give them a fresh palette frequently, but they love to make fresh cobwebs.
Theatrical scripts have been written in the chalet, so don't be surprised if you feel the urge to create. There seems to be something in the air which inspires. Well, it inspires me anyway.
A perfect relaxing holiday retreat or a base for more extreme relaxing.
Nothing flash, and priced accordingly. We have many returning visitors who love it.

The rooster next door was a distraction, but apart from that nothing was a problem.

we found the hosts very thoughtful in providing small items that most holiday makers dont carry , eg. washing machine powder , pegs , small food containers , plastic bags and games.

Nice quiet location. However, microwave & TV didn't work. We felt the response to these issues was poor as they had been reported by a visitor earlier the previous month and nothing done about them. The owners were away and didn't not have a backup person to help out.We stayed for 4 nights, 5days, and would have appreciated a change of towels however, there was no other towels available. We were able to wash the ones we had, but there was minimal washing powder provided.A very cluttered unit with too much furniture. Very clean unit.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place was more spacious than expected, very clean, and the bed and pillows were comfy. It was great having the kitchenette which was equipped with everything you could need. Having a washing machine I’m the bathroom was a bonus! The place is situated in a beautiful garden (the lemons are the best tasting we’ve ever had) with farmland around, but only a few mins drive into Takaka town. We didn’t meet the hosts in person but they were available on messages and checked in on us to see that everything was ok. Overall a great stay and highly recommend

TV, air con / heat pump, microwave were not working. No milk , only 2 tea bags. No hair dryer, no clothes pegs, no face washers. No way to contact hosts or book a bach - we sat in the car on the street for over half an hour then went into the neighbour's and were given a phone number - then the combination for the lock box. No security stays on the windows. It was however, nice and close to to town.

We enjoyed our stay for a few days in this house immersed in the garden, with birds singing and citrus fruits around. The house is close to Wharariki beach and Te Waikoropupū Springs, which both are wonderful places to visit. Just double check your arrival time as the road through Takaka hill might be closed (it is the reason for the three stars attributed to the location).

We spent only nights there as we're with a wider group. It was great to go back to peace & quiet to sleep! ☺️ Unfortunately the long weekend rained heavily which made everything a little damp however there was plenty of heating if needed - as we did, to dry out towels . Ali was in touch with us over the weekend and was very generous regarding the rain. In fine weathe

It was all we wanted. It was rural, quiet, and handy to Takaka, was within walking distance. Would go there again.
