Come to this newly renovated, light-filled apartment with private parking and private deck in the heart of Portland's most sought after neighborhood, Munjoy Hill.

Your quiet apt is located directly across from the Portland Observatory and at the top of the hill overlooking all the best neighborhoods of Portland including downtown Portland, Washington Avenue and East Bayside.

Located in an historic building, the apartment is a short walk from the Eastern Promenade Park and Green Trails with their spectacular views of Casco Bay and the Islands. You'll feel like you're in Paris when you awaken to the scent of pastries and croissants from Belleville, the authentic French Bakery next door.

This elevated first floor unit showcases historic high ceilings and architectural features with a designer mix of contemporary and vintage furniture and offers both privacy and bright natural light throughout. The original pumpkin pine and maple wood floors are newly refinished and the spacious bedroom includes a queen size bed and closet. The generous living room features cathedral bay windows with a desk overlooking the pedestrian traffic of Congress Street. Contemporary appointments include TV access to free streaming services, high speed fiber WiFi, and electrical outlets throughout. A Washer & Dryer is provided in the large bathroom newly refurnished with vanity, cabinets and shower. An elegant modern kitchen spacious enough to accommodate eat in dining and entertaining comes equipped with stainless steel Dishwasher, Gas Range, Microwave, and Refrigerator. The kitchen also accesses a private deck for outdoor dining.

Even the most baggage-laden traveler will find sufficient closet space here.

You will find Munjoy Hill's (and Portland's) neighborhood attractions easy to access from this secure building. Award-winning restaurants, bars, coffee houses and bakeries offer a variety of culinary options.

A 3-minute walk takes you to the HIll Arts/ St. Lawrence Arts Center or continue to stroll toward the ocean and take in the phenomenal views of Casco Bay. Take advantage of a variety of biking and walking trails, the nearby East End Beach or tennis courts, visit a host of food trucks, or seek out kayaks and paddles board for rent.

A quick walk towards town brings you first to Portland's trendiest foodie neighborhood of Washington Avenue with many of Portland's finest restaurants and boutique shops. A little further still takes you to East Bayside with its multiple galleries and breweries, and finally you reach into downtown Portland and its quaint cobblestone streets, sophisticated bars, award winning restaurants, and theatrical and musical venues.

You also enjoy easy access to neighborhood food markets, Portland's Whole Foods Market and Trader Joe's, and the Portland Food Coop. And you are a 15 minute drive to beaches in South Portland and Cape Elizabeth.

You are a close walk to all of these great restaurants;

From the NY TIMES 36 Hours in Portland, Maine:
After dinner, take a short stroll up Munjoy Hill, which dominates the eastern end of the city’s peninsula, to enjoy not one but two incredible views. At the end of Marion Street, follow the stone steps up to Fort Sumner Park, which looks west over Portland’s Back Cove. On a clear day, you can see the peak of Mount Washington and an exceptional sunset. From there, walk up Quebec Street to arrive at the Eastern Promenade, a 78-acre park that looks east over Casco Bay. Lounge on the grass or head back downhill on Congress Street to sit outside at Oxbow, one of the many Maine breweries that make beer in Portland or have outposts here, or choose from a long list of ciders on tap (from $7.50) at the Basque-inspired Anoche.

This is probably one of the best Vrbo’s I’ve ever stayed in. The location was perfect, we were able to walk everywhere that we needed to. The host was extremely communicative and helpful and responsive. The location was cozy, accessible, comfortable, and we had no issues with any appliances, heaters, fans or safety.

We absolutely loved our stay. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful. The property is very well maintained, bed is comfortable, blankets are warm, we enjoyed a night in grilling and sitting on the porch. The bakery next-door is charming and delicious and there’s a convenience store across the street with wine and some produce and other essentials. The location is perfect. Quiet and tucked in right near eastern promenade where we enjoyed many runs and morning strolls and walkable to old port and safe for an evening stroll back home. Highly recommended.

1 North Street is ideally located in the heart of Munjoy Hill, a bustling, friendly community featuring three bakeries, two taverns, two restaurants and easy access to the Eastern Promenade and Fort Allen overlooking Casco Bay. Our apartment was spacious and perfect for two people. Off street parking was a welcome bonus. We enjoyed our daily walks through well maintained older neighborhoods. This Munjoy Hill gem is a must when visiting Portland, ME.

We stayed 3 nights and had a great time walking along the water, walking to the old port, visiting lighthouses and the observatory. So much to do and many within walking distance from the apt. The apt is very clean. Brian was a great host, super responsive and helped us out more than once. Would definitely recommend this rental!

Jocelyn and Brian were great. Our other accommodation for our wedding cancelled with very little nice and Brian got right back to us about his place and made a stressful situation so much better! The place is beautiful and perfectly located in the Munjoy Hill area. Easy to get to and a lovely place to walk around.

My wife and I enjoyed a three night stay and were able to get to the venues of Portland easily from this location. We found the apartment to be well equipped with all of the necessary items. There is a market across the street and a coffee shop just a few blocks away. Private parking was a plus. The hosts were most accommodating by allowing early check-in and responded promptly to inquiries. The apartment was a great choice for us.

Our stay was great. The place was bigger than we expected and the parking was right in front of the patio. It was raining and cold when we got there but the two large unit heaters warmed the place up fast. The amenities were everything you would need and the bakery is right there for in the morning. You can literally walk from the place to every great restaurant in Portland. I would stay here again in a heart beat.

Very nice quiet place within walking distances of small quaint restaurants and cafes. A very good introduction to Portland; close to great seafood restaurants and across the street from the Portland Observatory-highest elevation of the city and a great view of the harbor and the city. Very safe neighborhood and lots of people walking with their dogs on cobblestone sidewalks

What a lovely place! We visited Portland for our honeymoon, and we're so glad we chose to stay here. The owners were very thoughtful about everything and skimped on nothing. We felt like were staying in a suite at a hotel. This beautifully renovated apartment was perfect for the two of us. Owner communication was phenomenal. If there was any negative, it was out of the owner's control. It was unusually warm, so using the window air conditioner located in the kitchen was a little noisy and caused the kitchen to be a bit cool to ensure that the other rooms were adequately comfortable. Also, there was very early construction on the home next door, but I would imagine that it would be completed before too long. The bakery located right beside you is open Thurs-Sun, and while they can be a bit loud at times, it is delicious! The location is perfect - minutes away from everything, but it feels like you're miles away. We will be back to take in all that Portland has to offer and enjoy this wonderful accommodation again.
