Very welcoming and responsive hosts, comfortable bed with nice linens and lots of bath supplies, everything we needed and more. We enjoyed sitting in one of the gardens at the end of the day, location is nice and a great base for daily trips. Photos are accurate.

The Stinson Suite was small but adequate for our family of 4 (note it is not for tall folks). The place was furnished with a lot of thoughtful additions like soaps, coffee, creamer, sugar, snacks and extra toiletries you may need. The kitchen was fully equipped and we were able to cook our Thanksgiving meal there. The gardens around the house are beautiful and there are nice sitting areas. The laundry room was free and they provided soap as well. The place was very clean and I felt comfortable there.

Such a lovely place to stay. It was truly a home away from home. Many restaurants were within walking distance and most main attractions are less than 5 miles from the property.

This is such a cute little place! They have a nice set up with many rentals. It is in such a convenient area. We loved it! We want to try other of their rentals too! This one is in the basement. If you are very tall you may have trouble! My husband 6'1 and his head touched the ceiling in the smaller bedroom. I'm 5'9 and my head was right at the shower head. The bigger bedroom's bed was a little saggy in the middle. Kind of a hammock feel. My back was feeling it.It was very clean and well maintained. They supplied coffee and snacks and some extra bathroom supplies were there of needed. Such nice people too.

The basement suite was perfect for a family of four with young kids (there was a small step into one of the bedrooms, but no one ever tripped). While the June weather was hot and muggy, the basement was consistently cool and comfortable. The kitchen was easy to cook in, the beds were comfortable, and the location was convenient.

Overall, the stay was nice. We didn’t stay in the house much since we had a lot of activities planned in the area, but it was comfortable and quiet when we’d come back to rest. There were very minor things about the cleanliness of the rooms we stayed in, but nothing worth complaining about, it’s an old home, it’s to be expected. Our stay was upgraded to the upstairs apartment/suit area due to a small error. I think we would have preferred staying in the listing we originally picked for privacy preferences. The upstairs is split into 2 private suites/apartments with a shared kitchen and living room space. Being 3 women, it was a bit uncomfortable not knowing that’s how our situation would be staying there, but no one was booked in the suite next to us luckily. The owners are nice and communicate very well. It is a cute property with a cozy outdoor space to enjoy. Thank you for having us at your property.

The apartment was adorable and very clean. The snacks and coffee were nice touches. The biggest problem was the weather, which pretty much wiped out any plans we made. The other issue was the location of the Stinson Suite. I do not recall anywhere in the VRBO description that said the apartment was down a flight of stairs. My husband is 82 years old and has great difficulty walking. The stairs were extremely difficult for him. Put this location in the description of the peoperty. We left a day early due to weather, but enjoyed the ambiance of the apartment while we were there.

Best location if you are touring around Chattanooga. 2 minutes to the Incline Railway, less than 10 minutes to Ruby Falls or Rock City. The apartment was decorated for Christmas and it was just adorable with special little touches throughout. Primary bedroom was large enough for a pack n play with room to spare. Two points to know before you stay: it does require steps to enter and a few steps to enter the shower and the second bedroon. The ceilings are low, so my 6'4 husband could not fully stand in the shower or second bedroom. We loved it and would definitely stay again!

My sisters and I rented the Stinson Suite at The Bear House 1890, and it was perfect. Mr. Sherfey, the owner, met us on arrival, helped with luggage, and showed us around the 2 bedroom apartment. It was very cute and comfortable, and they had thought of everything. There was a snack basket for us, and there was candy dishes full of all kinds of chocolate treats through out the apartment. The beds in both bedrooms were very possibly the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on. Amazing!! The place was clean, nicely decorated, and within walking distance to restaurants and the Incline Railway. We loved it!

My family of two recently stayed in the Stinson Suite and loved it! The owners thoughtfully stocked the kitchen and bathroom with everything we'd need for our stay. There are so many nice touches that make it feel like home. The den is comfortable with a nice TV (with cable). The beds are quite comfortable. We also enjoyed being in the St. Elmo neighborhood. It was convenient yet quiet. I'd gladly stay here again in the future.

My husband and our two children (4 and 6) stayed in the Stinson Suite for 4 nights. The property was great and the kids loved exploring the grounds (talking to Big Foot and riding scooters in the driveway). There was a playground right down the street which we enjoyed and the house very close to Lookout Mountain to visit Rock City and Ruby Falls and go hiking. Not in the center of downtown, but a quick 15-20 minute drive. We preferred the drive over being in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. The suite itself had everything we could have needed and was right next to the shared laundry which was convenient. 2nd bedroom was very small with low ceiling, but our kids slept in there so it was a non-issue.
