Bear House 1890, Sherfey Suite, Perfect Getaway, Walk to Cafes, Outdoor Activity

We stayed in the very cute and comfy carriage house. The unit was well stocked and had a wonderful variety of Kcups, hot chocolate and some snacks. The unit was decorated for Christmas with a tree and other pretties! Definitely recommend and we will definitely stay there again!

They thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. Everything was clean very well maintained. Best shower, EVER!!!

Great location

It was close to a lot of restaurants and sites. Manager was extremely helpful in guiding us on were to eat and things to see.

If you are looking for a place very clean, and with a wonderful atmosphere, that's the place! We loved the suite, and the owners were very kind. The house is located in a great area, and near to one of the best restaurants in Chatanooga (1885 Grill).

The Sherfey suite was absolutely sweet! It’s located in a beautiful neighborhood with great restaurants within walking distance. Rock City is right up the hill, Cloudland Canyon State Park just 20 minutes away, downtown Chattanooga and the river walk are 3 miles away. The accommodations were comfortable with too many amenities to list. The garden was lovely, with many seating areas. The hosts were so helpful with recommendations for food and entertainment. Truly a unique and pleasurable stay.

We liked absolutely everything down to the specialty soaps, provided snacks and coffee, and the fully stocked kitchen. Every detail was taken care of by the wonderful hosts. We lacked nothing during our stay. We will return to this property.

The bathtub set-up was dangerous - the shower/tub was on a high platform and a slipping danger getting in and out of the shower was there. The rooms were decorated nicely but there was no extra blanket for one colder night.

Absolutely the cutest little apartment. The pics make it seam bigger so that’s why I didn’t give 5 stars on the description and price. But everything else is definitely a 5 star! The gentleman checking us in had to show us the apartment which I thought was unnecessary. It was very self explanatory. But I did enjoy his conversation. The tub/shower is raised up on a high step that I didn’t notice in the description and that could be a problem for other renters, especially if they are older or handicapped in some way. We had to be very cautious getting out the shower. The pillows are Fabulous! I must get me a set. And in the description there’s no mention of cleaning fees but we were charged 60 for cleaning. So the discount Verbo gave us, we didn’t really get. That was disappointing. Our overall experience was great. I would definitely like to come back.

The location was a the foot of Lookout mountain. Wonderful experience. Host..steve was friendly and very knowledgeable.

Great location, in the heart of St. Elmo. Two blocks from VA Ave. Ideal space if you’re traveling alone or with yourself.

Everything was clean and accessible. They thought of Everything. There was even an animal statue scavenger hunt that my daughter had a blast with! Private area but within walking distance to many restaurants and shops. The water pressure in the shower alone would have me booking again! The hosts were kind and helpful. We would recommend this stay for anyone.

This was a cute place, comfortable and well stocked with coffee and snacks.I was only in the Chattanooga area for a couple of days and found so much to do right in the St. Elmo area, so convenient.

We really enjoyed this place and location. Had extra little things like candy and breakfast bars. Perfect in every way Definitely will be back.

This is the second time that my wife and I have stayed on this property and it likely won't be the last! Great location, comfortable accommodations with a lot of character and personal touches and the Sherfey's are great people!

Quiet, clean, close to everything!

The owners are friendly and welcoming. The grounds are beautiful and the location to walkable restaurants and to Lookout Mountain, Point Park and Ruby Falls is excellent. The Sherfey Suite provides a comfortable first floor access with many amenities.

We stayed at the Bear House for Covenant graduation weekend as our son and his fiancé both graduated. Both of our families stayed in the spaces at the Bear House and enjoyed being together for meals on the lovely garden patio and playing games. Beautiful gardens and nice place to be together.

I stayed in the Sherfey Suite for a long weekend. The location was wonderful, and the hosts were incredibly kind. I forgot to text or call when I got close as they had requested, but check-in was still very quick and easy. I felt this was going above and beyond of the hosts when I had completely forgotten their instructions.I was given a tour of the space with everything pointed out, and there was an amazing listing of places to visit in the neighborhood. I was lucky because that weekend there was a corgi parade within walking distance. Other attractions are a very short drive - I went to Ruby Falls, and I liked it so much I went to another cave attraction the next day.The space itself was immaculate, the TV was easy to use even for an old luddite like myself, and it was very quiet at night even with other guests upstairs. The check-out process was very easy, and the instructions were easy to understand. The check-out is also quite late, which is very nice if you want to sleep in. The grounds are also beautiful, and you might just see Bigfoot. . Be nice to him, he's shy.All in all a wonderful stay, can't recommend enough.

Very clean and well utilized space for this one bedroom and bath carriage house. Well stocked amenities. Many outside areas to relax and enjoy the peaceful property. St Elmo is a quaint lovely town. 1885 Grill for cocktails and meals is a must! The property was convenient to every venue we had planned on visiting. I highly recommend.

Very cozy place, good bed. Lots of extras provided. We especially loved the electric fireplace! Great location!

Place was clean and well maintained. Bed was comfortable and sheets were so soft. Kitchen was well supplied with necessary items. (Nice touches throughout, like snacks, water, chocolate) Easy access to Lookout Mountain area and Chattanooga.

Perfect location for a quick weekend getaway to Chattanooga!

Beautiful setting, quiet neighborhood, within minutes of attractions. We plan to come back during other seasons. The check in was a little confusing but the host was available on the phone to help. The apartment was very well stocked, clean, and and beautifully decorated. My only complaint was the upstairs neighbors were easy to hear, even snoring at night, so I would prefer the upstairs for our next visit. heardeocorared.

St. Elmo is a gorgeous neighborhood with a small town feel, located at the base of lookout Mountain. Our room was clean and well stocked with everything we needed for a short visit. The court yard had plenty of comfy spaces for relaxation. There's plenty to do on Lookout Mountain and a handful of nice casual restaurants just a few minutes away. Just a tip, read signs in the parking lots before you exit your car. Some lots require payment through a 3-D bar code that leads you to a payment website. We didn't notice the signs and ended up with a 20 fine. If you go downtown, download park mobile. Free parking is rare in St. Elmo and in Downtown Chattanooga. Other than the parking ticket, everything was great.

This is a beautiful, historic carriage house in a quiet neighborhood. We felt safe to walk around after dark.The location was absolutely perfect. Easy to get to amazing food locations, as well as all the attractions Chattanooga has to offer.The hosts were lovely. Showed us around and were readily available, but otherwise we never saw them.The price was excellent for the location, and we would love to stay again if we return to Chattanooga.

The Bear House is really cute, comfortable with all the amenities we needed, as well as being located in a historic neighborhood but close to attractions. We had a great time!

We thoroughly our stay at the Bear House. The place was just the right size for the two of us, it was extremely clean and well stocked with coffee/tea, snacks, soaps, lotions, etc. We were in town for a kayak race and this place was the perfect location. Host was very friendly and welcoming. I am hoping to book again for next year.

This property was an excellent choice as we were close to a lot of places to eat and was right next to look out mountain.Very comfortable bed with plenty of necessities and extras on the property.

We had a day to enjoy Chattanooga-Lookout Mountain and Rock City were both an easy distance from the house. We also did the Chattanooga Duck Tour which was fun. Our hostess was gracious when we arrived later than expected Friday night. Everything was clean and comfortable and checkout was easy. Thanks so much for a lovely stay!!

We met Steve when we arrived. The Bear House is located in historic St. Elmo, surrounded by the mountains and accessible via steep, windy roads. The carriage house is old but lovely. Everything was clean and the hosts provided more amenities than most places we have been. The coffee bar was fully stocked, along with breakfast bars and, in the bedroom, a stash of chocolate. It rained most of our stay, so we weren't able to fully appreciate the lovely grounds. Flowers and landscaping were bountiful; different garden rooms were set up for one to enjoy. We also enjoyed going down the hill and visiting the local restaurants. They were all so good! A most memorable and enjoyable time for sure!

The Bear House was a perfect 2-day stop on our way to Destin. Mr. Sherfey welcomed us and gave us a brief tour of as soon as we arrived. The house was cozy and comfortable, convenient to restaurants and attractions, and stocked with coffee and snacks. We're definitely adding this to our list of favorites the next time we're in Chattanooga!

Our stay was even better than we anticipated. I wish we would have planned for a longer trip to enjoy the garden and outdoor area. Everything was very nice and the property had everything we could possibly need. There were snacks and plenty of coffee too. The house is located in a lovely residential area. We really enjoyed our stay!
