Stayed Apr 21, 2024Great property in the middle of a vineyard and olive tree orrchard. Really unique property that had fabulous views. We were there in mid-April and the weather was cool & rainy, but it was still enchanting. The on-site property mgr., Geanine(sp?) was very helpful and friendly. Only issue I had with the property was that the kitchen was large and inviting, but there was not much in the way of utensils. I don't know if prior guests had taken some with them, but not easy to cook with no tongs etc. That is nit-picking, because we would have loved to had stay there much longer. And, we're considering returning for a longer stay. The location is perfect for visiting Umbrian hill towns as well as the great vineyards of the Montefalco wine region. Definitely make some reservations at the local wineries for tours/tasting. There were six of us (parents, two children with their respective spouses). I could definitely see renting out the entire property for a week. I'm not sure how many folks you can lodge there, but would be probably around 20 or more comfortably. Would be great extended family retreat.

Stayed Jun 26, 2023Bacco was a lovely apartment, beautifully decorated and well equipped. The gardens and pool area were very attractive too, and the location for visiting the local area was perfect. Lorenzo the property manager was very helpful.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We have stayed in a few properties in this area in previous years but this one is a bit special. we spent the first week in Lavanda, a lovely, clean, spacious, bright and nicely decorated and furnished apartment, we were very pleased with this apartment. For the second week of our holiday we were in Torre a truly fabulous property, it was very, very clean, beautifully decorated with some truly lovely features, a really comfortable homely property. We really enjoyed our stay here, I would happily recommend this property to friends and family, the lovely pool was set in an olive grove and the surrounding gardens were well maintained and tidy with flowers and herbs. There are many interesting towns in the vicinity,Montefalco, Assisi,Todi,Spello,Orvieto all worth a visit and with plenty of restaurants and places to eat.Francesco and the staff at Fontesalla were most helpful, friendly and very informative, to sum up a truly wonderful property in a wonderful location, we will be back.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This was by far the best apartment we have stayed in. It is part of a beautiful old Italian villa set among vine fields and olive plantations, with wonderful views across valleys to the blue Umbrian hills. The apartment is spacious yet homely, full of local colour, extremely well-equipped, spotlessly clean and largely furnished with 19th-century pieces fitting the atmosphere of the house. The grounds are also very spacious and beautiful, with swimming pool and paths leading off towards the lovely open fields. The owner is an exceptionally friendly, courteous and helpful person, doing far more for us than could reasonably have been expected (for example when our hired car broke down 10 miles away, at about 10.30 pm, he fetched us back, arranged for the car to be towed away and later drove us 15 miles to the railway station so we could collect a replacement). There are several very beautiful and characteristically Umbrian villages/towns (Bevagna, Montefalco, Spello) within 10 miles, and further afield, but only 30-60 minutes' drive away, many famous towns/cities including Assisi, Perugia, Spoleto, Orvieto, Todi, as well as Lake Trasimeno and, a little further, Lake Bolsena, and of course wonderful mountain roads (we especially liked the one over Mount Subasio near Assisi). In most of these places there are paintings and buildings of world-class quality and importance. Many parts of the area (e.g. Montefalco and Orvieto) are also famous for their wines and olive oils - and Perugia for its chocolate. It would be a delightful place simply to relax in, but in order to look around a car is essential. I recommend it as strongly as possible and without any reservation.
