Apartment with Ocean View, Downtown Reykjavik

We are family of 4 , Two adults and 2 children. Stayed in the property for just one night. Everything was very good . Location is excellent, close to everything. We asked host for early check in and unit was ready 2 hr early. Apartment is clean and very good maintained. 100% Recommend for your stay in downtown area

Such a perfect spot in the city! Gorgeous views, cozy house. My family enjoyed our stay very much. The communication with the owner was incredibly fast, and helpful. Would definitely stay again!

This is a lovely furnished modern apartment. IMHO it's in the best neighborhood of downtown Reykjavik. The harbor views right from the apartment are priceless. One block walk to gourmet restaurants was incredible. Even the boat for our northern lights tour was one block away. The two major groceries are about a 12 minute walk. Harpa was about a 15 minute walk and safe at night. The apartment was very nice but for me the exceptional value was in location. Tip: city bus stop 15 is a block away, but tour pickup stop 15 is farther. Go to the rotary, take the first right, and walk toward the maritime museum.

Perfect location in downtown Reykjavík, easy access to everything. The apartment is comfortable and fully equipped. We had a wonderful time. Highly recommend.

The location is perfect and the apartment very comfortable. We will be back in May.

My first experience using VRBO. The apartment was okay, and the communication was okay. What was not fine was a 10am check out (standard check out everywhere is 11am) and all the absurd fees after the stay, totaling 600 on a three night stay, including 200 for sleeping on the couch (!?!) What a rip off and a sad end to an otherwise nice stay in Reykjavik. I enjoy taking layovers in Reykjavik, but I wouldn't stay here again.

A refined, modern apartment in the perfect location in Reykjavik. Inga is a superb host, and is responsive, professional, and considerate. The apartment is within minutes of excellent food, shopping, tours, several city and tour bus stops. We had a faboulous stay here, and hope this property is available for our next trip to Iceland!!

Apartment needs a dryer. Better/clearer instruction for trash drop at end of stay is advisable.

Beautiful property! There is no on-site parking, but we were able to unload our items and use the elevator to the apartment. Parking is on the street where you can find it. Very clean property with beautiful view of the harbour. Close to everything. Loved you were within walking distance to everything. Would stay here again if we are ever in Iceland.

The location was perfect. Coffee on the covered deck overlooking the harbor was a treat even on a cool rainy day. The description was right on. Highly recommend.

The floor was very dirty and hadn’t been moped. Dirty white socks and bare feet.

Great apartment, location, and communication - I would stay there again!

Charming, scenic, well equipped, and well located. However a little loud if you have people sleeping on the pull out in the living room. People were working on ships in the boatyard across the street until 10PM and then the street traffic starts up early in the morning. Also, was told the Flybus airport shuttle drops off across the street, but in actuality it was 2 blocks away. Not a big deal, but just FYI.

No problems with Check-in and Wi-fi access. Kitchen facilities were adequate for our needs. Conveniently located to neighborhood restaurants and shopping.

Nice apartment with a view of the old harbor. Close to several restaurants. Short walk to everything in the city center. The owner (Inga) was very responsive & helpful. We appreciated having a washing machine after several weeks of hiking in Iceland. We didn't cook in the apartment, but the kitchen appeared to have everything necessary to prepare basic meals.

This rental was right by the harbour and very convenient for our visit in Reykjavik before we boarded our cruise ship. The rental was perfect for our group of 4!

The property was perfect for a family of four with adult aged kids. We were within walking distance to most everything we wanted to do. The view was beautiful and the deck was especially nice to look at the harbor and see the city too. It was convenient to have a kitchen and the sleeping accommodations were comfortable.

We stayed 3 nights in this property during our visit to Iceland. The property is in a great location with an amazing view of the water. It is also close to the city center and bus stops needed to get to the main bus station. The property was clean and well appointed, we had everything we needed for our short stay. The apartment is just as they describe. There’s a nice view of the old harbor and the burger place, literally across the street, is very good and reasonably priced for Iceland. The apartment is in a less touristy part of Reykjavik, so you don’t step out your door into throngs of people. The center of the city is about a 10 minute walk, and you are in the throngs about 5 minutes after that. Supermarkets are about a 15 minutes walk to the end of the old harbor. Nice place. No complaints.

Everything about this stay was amazing. We had the best time. We didn’t have a car so it was the perfect location. The place was very comfortable and nice as well.

The apartment was perfectly located with a beautiful view! All of the essentials are provided and the host was very responsive to any questions we had. Finding parking was not an issue either and relatively inexpensive. We truly enjoyed our stay.

I spent countless hours trying to find the right place to stay in Reykjavik for my family of three (me, spouse and 20 year old daughter). Somehow I landed on Inga Oddson's apartment in the old harbor of Reykjavik. It looked great in the listing, but until we arrived, I was not aware just how fortunate we were to have found this apartment. It was perfect for our one week stay! We rented a car at the airport and found free parking in a lot not far from the apartment. Keep in mind this was lower tourist season so finding parking was not a problem. Having a car gave us freedom to drive outside of Reykjavik, but it was not necessary to have a car if not planning to leave downtown as everything was within easy walking distance from the apartment. There were several great restaurants and two grocery stores nearby, the boat tour departure spot was visible from the apartment, and we walked into town several times as well as to the BSI bus station for a Golden Circle tour. There is a tour bus stop close by the apartment, too, and our tour dropped others off there on the way back, so we were able to hop off and go straight to the apartment.The apartment is spacious and comfortable! It had everything we needed for our stay. Inga was so communicative and helpful, too. We really enjoyed our stay and will enthusiastically recommend this apartment to others who are traveling to Reykjavik.

Very good set up and amazing location right by Old Harbor. Our host was very thorough with instructions and useful tips. She was very responsive when we needed a bit of additional info. Only minor drawback was traffic noise from the busy street at rush hour. All in all it was a fantastic stay.

A lovely clean and well laid out apartment very close to tourist attractions and just a short walk to the main streets. We had some trouble finding it initially and I would have been helpful to know it was opposite the pub. Using the phone to find directions when you have big bags and children isn't so easy! We enjoyed our stay and time in Iceland but we had to leave in a hurry so I forgot my laptop charger and a little lunch bag. I asked the owner if these could be returned to me and I would pay for the postage but she was unable to arrange it. This made for a disappointing end to our stay.

We LOVED our stay here, thank you so much! We stayed for 10 nights; the location is perfect for exploring Reykjavík but also for getting out and about on tours to see more of Iceland, which is what we did almost every day (just 3-4 minutes’ walk from tour bus stops 15 and 4, which was a godsend for some of the earlier starts!) It was just me and my 9-year-old son staying, and my son has additional needs, and we both felt very safe in the apartment and the local area. 2 of the popular lower-priced supermarkets are just 10 minutes’ walk away and there are ample local restaurants to choose from - we particularly enjoyed our bagels at Deig! The property is beautifully presented and, most importantly for me, extremely clean! The apartment had everything we needed for our stay and the washing machine was fantastic (plus, clothes dry in less than 12 hours on the air-drying stand). Night times were quiet with little noise around and we loved seeing the harbour from our window. The key box was appreciated as it meant I didn’t have to risk losing the keys on long days out! Within Reykjavík itself, the harbour location is great, and all main Reykjavík attractions are walkable within 20 minutes or so. This is a fantastic apartment! Thank you again.

The positive reviews are true, this is a great condo in a great location. Clean, spacious, and convenient to restaurants and shopping. If you never left the city you'd have access to everything you need. If you rent a car and explore this is a great place to come home to each night. Parking is tight but not terrible, and we only ever needed to park a few blocks away at most. We loved the hot springs feel of the geothermal water in the shower, and the patio is great, both for the views and for safely trying hakarl!

This was a great place for our first trip out of the US. The location was incredibly convenient, all our needed bus stops and restaurants and museums were never anymore than a 15 minute walk max. The place itself had a great view, great kitchen area and comfortable beds. The check in was easy, I always got a quick response to any message. The washer was great for washing light clothes and thermals. Also we had a little cat friend outside to greet us most days, he wasn’t apart of the vrbo but we loved seeing him. Recommend this place!

Very nice and well equipped flat right by the old harbour of Reykjavik. The contact with Inga, the owner, was always very quick and uncomplicated. Everything needed for daily use was provied for. Right opposite the street there are many restaurants and the way into the city centre is close. Unfortunately, the street ouside ist loud (especially in winter when the cars drive on studded tyres). To open the windows during the night was therefore not possible. Nevertheless, we fully recommend this place!

Our stay in Reykjavik was made so much more special due to this wonderful spot. Easy walking everywhere and a beautiful view!

The property was exactly as listed with the exception that one of the suggested large free parking areas was blocked off with concrete. We were still able to find free parking close by. We got 1 parking ticket for miss reading a sign so be caeful, they don't play. That said the location is exceptional. Close to many attractions, a great jumping off point the golden circle and walking distance to countless restaurants. Coming again in the summer!

Property is well maintained, clean, comfortable, and quiet. It is centrally located off the harbour/main road and is close to 2 city/tour bus stops.Plenty of restaurant options a stones throw away, or choose by looking off the balcony.If you are staying here you may need no vehicle due to proximity to local transportation system. I kind of forgot I didn't actually live there, the stay was that comfortable.

The apt is exactly as advertised. Perfect location in old harbor. Excellent communication with owner. Easy check in. Comfortable. Highly recommend. A little bare bones on amenities. Very little creature comforts. It would probably be better to have no ‘artwork’ on the walls than the worse kind of odd pictures. A few lights that didn’t work. Tiny things. Close to bus stop, great food, city center, beautiful views.

The location was perfect. We had a view of the docks and ocean. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and included everything we needed for our stay (could have used a couple extra bath towels and pillowcases). We will definitely stay here again!

Great place to stay, right near the main downtown area and close to the harbour. Easy check in process and the host was great at communicating. Overall an awesome place to stay if you are visiting Reykjavik.

Clean, great little place to use for a launch site. Easy walks to a bunch of sites, museums, tour companies, restaurants. Full kitchen, with pans, utensils, and dishwasher, which we used to cut the cost of eating in Iceland. If we are back through there in the future, we will definitely be checking for availability. Inga ( host) is a great communicator. And even a friendly black & white cat living somewhere nearby that likes to greet you, and be petted.

We scheduled a 3 day stop over in Iceland on way to Switzerland. Host responded quickly to all questions. Very clean and spacious unit with all amenities. Great to be able to do laundry. Walking distance to restaurants and grocery store is 10 min walk . Highly recommend.

The apartment was in a great location with beautiful view of the water. It was a real treat to wake up to that each day and enjoy a coffee on the balcony each night. It's near loads of great restaurants and all the boat tours so it'swell situated. Parking is on the street and you have to pay

We were looking forward to staying at this property so much. The owner, Inga, was easy to communicate with and easily accessible. Unfortunately, our flight had mechanical issues and we only got a layover in Iceland vs a couple day stay. I would definitely look at this property in the future. It was a bummer to lose the payment, wish it could be used in the future.

We stayed at this property from August 11-15 and enjoyed it immensely. The location and view are unique and we really made use of local bakeries and restaurants. The owner Inga and her on-site designee were communicative and helpful both in advance and during our stay. This was especially important when we could not figure out how to use the clothes washer the night before we were to vacate. Some written instructions would have prevented the need to call them for help. TV instructions would also be useful. These are minor points, however, and we'd highly recommend this apartment.

We had a great time walking to everything we wanted to see in downtown Reykjavik. We had breakfast in the apartment and sometimes another meal. The place was comfortable.The location was really good and the owner very helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again! It was very clean and comfortable, and the location is perfect! You can walk to everything! The pull out bed is the most comfortable I have ever slept on, so that was a bonus! We will be back!

We spent our last few days in Iceland at this pleasant apartment. Loved the Sky Lagoon, renting electric scooters and just walking around. Here are some tips from our June 2024 visit: If you have a car, park at the free lot across the road by the ship yard. Then you can avoid the dreaded Parka pay app or having to move your car every morning to avoid paying. For groceries, skip Bonus and head to Kronan Granda. The hot water is sulphur powered. If you can't take the smell, you'll be taking cold showers.
