Apartment Carmel Offers Luxury Old Town Apartment With Balcony

The apartment was very centrally located in Dubrovnik's Old Town. Pros: well-furnished overall, good air-conditioning, Ivana was very helpful with respect to hiring porters and logistics of checking into the apartment.Cons: very loud music from nightclub next door that went on most nights until 2 pm or later along with crowd noise outside; unpleasant smell from the bathroom drain(s) that lingered throughout the apartment; host asking for more money after checkout even though we did final walkthrough with Ivana prior to leaving the apartment and nothing was ever mentioned why we should pay more. Also the bed is extremely hard giving back pain for days.

The apartment is spotless, the location is perfect, and we enjoyed our stay very much. The two drawbacks are loud music from a nearby bar played most of the six nights of our stay -- sometimes until 1:30am. We turned our bedroom fan on high and that solved the problem. Also there is a foul smell that appears from time to time from the drain in the bathroom. Otherwise, everything else was what we hoped for and expected.

Not only did Ivana prepare a lovely apartment for our stay, all of the accommodations were well thought out and were equipped as if we were at home. The location was wonderful and it was so nice to have the balcony and lovely plants. When we arrived there was a nice bowl of fruit,wine and beer. Hopefully, we will be able to come back next year to enjoy her lovely apartment.

This apt would definitely work for some people but just not for us. The communication with Ivanna was fantastic (nice woman and very helpful) and there were a couple of thoughtful touches (wine, beer, instant coffee, fruit bowl etc etc) that were really appreciated. The apt is very clean and spacious and located in the heart of old town. However, there is a persistent unpleasant smell in the apt (aside from the bathroom which smells bc it’s an old building with old plumbing). It can get noisy at night both from diners but also there is a club close by. We opted to stay here because we had been in Croatia for over a week and we needed to do a little laundry to tide us over till we got home. The dryer that was listed is actually a drying rack so the clothes need to be hung and then placed outside to dry. Whilst we fully appreciate this is a European thing, it was not something I had planned, nor wanted to do on vacation. Whilst there is soap and shampoo and other items, they are of low quality, and there are only a few old, dried out towels for usage. The sofa and bed are both hard and uncomfortable. Given what we paid for this apt (high season) we feel we could have stayed in a 4 star hotel just outside of old town and had a more quiet and comfortable experience. My recommendation is that they upgrade the bed and bedding, the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner and the sofa. A few upgrades would go a long way for a pair of creaky, set-in-their way old 50 year olds haha

We did a 3 night stay here. From start to finish, the communication was outstanding. Ivana had an immediate answer to all of our questions and was very helpful throughout or stay. The apartment was as advertised and there were no surprises. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.

This apartment was very comfortable and lovely. The manager was very helpful and communicative. There was fruit, wine and beer on our arrivalthe apartment had several thoughtful items, ie sunscreen, lotion and beach towels.

This was a great apartment, located steps away from the sights and restaurants. Ivana was a very good host. She communicated with us before our arrival and met us to show us the apartment and give us the key. She recommended restaurants and places to visit. She also arranged for us to store our luggage on our last day. I highly recommend this apartment.

A very well located flat with everything you need to enjoy a wonderful stay in Old Town Dubrovnik. A small balcony invites early morning coffee before the sun gets too hot! Loved the washer (and drying rack) as well as the chilled beer upon arrival! The bed is firm but comfortable and the air conditioning was excellent. I stayed during a heat wave so a/c made all the difference. Also, Ivana is extremely friendly and resourceful with anything you need. I had to store my luggage the day of departure near Ploče Gate which worked well. I also bought tickets for the bus from the Cable Car to the airport. This apartment was so close to everything. I felt very safe as a single traveler which is definitely not the case at home in Baltimore! I hope to return one day. Dubrovnik is a magnificent city.

Wonderful experience. Great apartment and perfect location. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to enjoy Dubrovnik!
