The Gifford is a bright and cheery, lovely home with both breathtaking mountain and serene pastoral views. It is located on 3 acres in the town of Cornwallville, a peaceful corner of the Catskills in beautiful upstate New York. The first floor of this two-story Cape Cod has an airy country eat-in kitchen, complete with cooking and serving supplies. The family room provides games and a television with a selection of DVDs for your entertainment. The glass-doored woodstove in the living room provides added warmth for those chilly winter evenings, while the attached deck offers a wonderful view of our Catskill sunsets (complete with horses). The master bedroom has a queen bed and cozy writing nook. Two full bathrooms are also located on this floor, as is a laundry. The upstairs has three bedrooms; two bedrooms each with queen beds, and the third is the children’s bedroom room which has one bunk bed and two twin beds.

We are pleased to announce that we have recently installed Wi-Fi so those who would like to be connected are able to be.

We include a complimentary take-home breakfast gift basket with your 2 night stay!

On the Farm

Winter is a magical season here; it is a wonderland of snow-covered, majestic mountains where adventure awaits you. The spacious backyard has plenty of room for playing in the snow and a stone fire pit to enjoy s’mores or roasting hot dogs. There is a picnic table and chairs to relax on while taking in the star studded sky undisturbed by city lights. Bring your own gear or rent locally to enjoy access to our 300-acre farm to snowshoe or sled. In fact, it’s just a moment’s walk to the main farmhouse where we live and the hub of Hull-O Farms, which of course you’re welcome to explore and enjoy to your heart’s content. During your stay, you’ll be welcome to participate in any activities or ‘chores’ happening while you’re here, such as feeding the animals. You may be able to romp with the rabbits, cuddle the kittens, take a gander with the goats, ponder the pigs, sit with the sheep, or canoodle the cows.

I am sorry to say we never got to meet the property owners and spend time at the farm and we were busy at local ski races. This is a very comfortable house that is lovingly cared for. The owners have done a great job anticipating the needs of guests. The basket of items including pancake mix, maple syrup, jam and snacks was much appreciated, and perfect for our young athletes!

We loved staying at Hull-O Farms! Sherry was an excellent host. Jared was so great showing us the animals and having the boys help with the chores. We'll definitely return!

Dedication and love of their property, land, and guests were evident in every aspect of our experience. Three cheers for Ms Sherry, Farmer Frank and Jared and all of their animals! We will be spreading the word and coming back!

The plane was really nice. It was spacious, with everything working as expected. Sherry was really sweet and helped out with whatever we needed. It's very close to Windham, for when we went skiing, and the days we didn't the kids enjoyed interacting with the animals. I wish the kitchen was a little better stocked, but overall, everything was great.

My friends and I rented out Hull-o Farms Guest House for NYE and it was absolutely perfect. The house was so cute, super clean, and more spacious that I thought! The bedrooms were so cozy and each was decorated uniquely. There was also a wood burning stove that we had going the entire time we were there. It definitely felt like a nice secluded cabin in the country side. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots pans utensils everything! Sherry is a fabulous host and was so attentive to all of our needs. She offered to make us coffee tea etc in the morning and the house came with a breakfast basket including honey, maple syrup, Sherry’s own pancake mix, a dozen eggs, and some breakfast meat...all from their farm! Delicious! Overall my friends and I really enjoyed our stay here and I highly recommend this property! We will be coming back soon for sure! Thanks Sherry!

The house was lovely and comfortable, and Sherry was a gracious and attentive host. When we told her we had only had brought whole bean coffee she lent us her coffee grinder, and the breakfast package of pancake mix and sausage that comes with the stay is delicious! Unfortunately, there were a issues that made our experience less pleasant. The single toilet in the home seems to be on its last legs and stopped refilling for several periods during our stay. Although it always eventually started working again, it really needs to be fixed or replaced. In addition, the house is in a cell service dead zone. This wouldn't an issue on its own but combined with the lack of wifi it made any kind of communication within our group very difficult. Overall I'd say this would be a good choice for a family or small group interested in staying on a functioning farm who don't need to be able to communicate or make phone calls. Larger groups or those who need to be able to reliably communicate are better off with something else though.
