Mahan's HomeAgain Is our families historic home built in the early 1900’s. Purchased in 1958 for $11,000. There was a barn & outbuildings that were soon filled with animals plus a large garden! We milked a few cows, had pigs & chickens. A building sat in the field on the right of the house that Dad remodeled into a 1 bedroom rental. The highway changed from a 2 lane into a 5 lane as it is today. The little house was taken but our home remained on the back edge of the property .The spacious front yard is much the same, the beautiful flowering bushes & flowers were here when we made it our home! When you sit on the porch swing watching the clouds you could be ready for a nap, make homemade ice cream or fill up on a sweet juicy Cave City Watermelon! Dad made several tiny rooms in to larger ones, creating the large living, dinning, kitchen & master bedroom. The garage, bunk-room & front porch were added after he retired! They now had more space for entertaining family & friends. Our Home was the Holiday Destination! Mother was an amazing cook so Dad built an abundance of cabinets! You will enjoy our comfy house with sleeping room for 10. There is a full pantry with washer & dryer. Two full bathrooms & 2 bedrooms, plus the bunkroom that sleeps 6. The bunk-room has 2 large bunkbeds with double bed on bottom and single on top. The relaxing Master bedroom is complete with an adjoining bath & kingsize iron bed. Large closets for all of your extra fishing & water sports gear. A seating space for reading or conversation. The front bedroom (aka Ricky's bedroom) has a double bed & chair plus small dresser & closet. Larger doorways have been widened for a clear view as well as making the main area wheelchair friendly. This Beautifully redecorated open-concept space has recently been restored with wide openings for wheelchair accessibility. The front entrance to the front porch has a wheelchair ramp. Enjoy all that the Gassville & Mtn Home area has to offer when you stay in our Country Home. You will be 15 minutes to White River & 12 minutes to Buffalo River, for qyppppworld renowned recreation. White River is Trout Capital of the world. In addition Lakes Bull Shoals & Norfolk await for swimming, boating & fishing. Bring your boat or canoe & rest easy because you have room for parking on the almost 3 acres of land with the house.
Our home has been updated & refreshed with all conveniences. A perfect retreat for the budget minded family. Children & dogs are welcomed. Our family has had scores of guests with hundreds of meals since 1958! We love our home & hope you will too!

When we got to the house we have not received the door code. We finally got the code from Vrbo and got into the house there was somebody else there already. There was some kind of mixup with the host. We stayed at a hotel the first night and came home the next day after not finding a hotel room. We were supposed to be there two nights but decided just to go back home. We have used Vrbo quite a few times and will use again but this was a very bad experience. Just glad we were not too far from home.

It’s a beautiful house, very comfortable and the owner went above and beyond to make us welcome. I appreciate that there were condiments, butter and water in the fridge. A coffee maker and coffee. A nice sitting area and dining room table plus a cozy eating nook in the kitchen. The decor was lovely. I will definitely make a return visit here!

Host was welcoming, home was very comfortable and had everything we could possibly need!Easy to find on the main road but not noisy at all. TV had lots of options. Furniture was comfortable. Plenty of room for our family!

The house is a quaint, well loved property that was comfortable for our four-night stay. It had a couple of issues, but I am giving this property five stars, because Charlene was very attentive and even gave us a credit because the dishwasher was uncooperative. Charlene is a lovely lady who is very passionate about her childhood home and wants her tenants to have positive experiences. The property is located right off a main road, but surprisingly, you could barely hear any traffic noise. It was well equiped with a fridge, drip coffee maker and washer and dryer. It has three bedrooms, one of which has two large bunk beds. Thank goodness for the smart TV in the living room as we were able to cast our shows from our phones to the TV!If you are looking for an affordable, comfortable option for your stay, this is the place.

Nice property, needed a tv on a rainy weekend. Most people have streaming capabilities, all you need is a cheap smart tv, no cable or antenna.

This property is charming, and the host is wonderful. It is very close to the highway but because it’s located within a small town road noise is not an issue. Beautiful grounds with tulips, mature trees, and other flowers/plants that are home to owls, rabbits, and other wildlife that we enjoyed watching from the porch swing. The house is cozy and freshly remodeled. We had a great escape here and will be returning.
