Stayed Dec 31, 1969The Alloro apartment at the Zampugna estate was the perfect place to settle in for a few days and discover Tuscany. The beds were comfortable, the apartment well-furnished and Ricardo was a helpful and gracious host. It's definitely country living (a mosquito coil was included in the basket of welcome items) but even during a hot spell the stone walls kept the interior cool enough that, along with fans provided, the evenings were fine for sleeping. The pool is clean and refreshing, and the washer was a welcome convenience. The location is just enough off the beaten path to be quiet, but still reasonably easy to get to and just a short drive to Montepulciano in one direction and Pienza in the other. Ricardo provided some basics to get us through the first few days, along with an excellent bottle of his own wine and great suggestions for restaurants and wineries to tour in the area. Definitely a place I recommend!
