Dottie's Place a 2 bdrm private space. Gorgeous views of the valley from the Master bedroom and the open adjoining living and kitchen space includes a warming fireplace. The master bathroom has a jet tub, with abundant natural light. The kitchen is equipped with pots, pans and utensils. There is a hideabed for additional guests. There is another rental onsite, as well as our home attached to Dottie's. We are between Blanchardville and New Glarus, with plenty of local attractions.
April raises heritage hogs. 2 times a year there are piglets on the ground. We are eco-groovy foodie folks that love nature and do our best to respect the natural world and live in harmony. The linens are hung to dry. There is no need to bring bottled water, our well is tested annually, and the water is exceptional out of the tap.

Most of the land here is being restored to prairie by Steve, along with a few acres where the pigs pasture. Rare songbirds choose our property to nest and fledge from each year. The bees and butterflies are abundant seasonally. Because we live in the country you might find some of the outside world has found its way inside such as spider, flies, pollen or a woolly caterpillar. The trout stream is tiny and evolves throughout the year and always offers a soothing sound.
Please let us know ahead of time if you need coffee, would like to purchase fresh farm eggs or sausage. We do allow pets, have a pet policy and fee we share when folks let us know they want to bring their furry friends.

The place was beautiful! Every night the valley filled with fireflies and was magical. The walks around the grounds were really fun and beautiful. The place itself is lovely. April and Steven were friendly and helpful. (The beds were a bit soft, but that may just be personal preference.) Really a fantastic place. Thank you!

The property is very pet friendly. Loved the natural beauty of the land and seeing the Milky Way at night was a big treat! It was great fun learning about pig farming and experiencing the momma pigs and two week old piglets! We found the small town community very welcoming & fun to explore. Big thank you to April & Steve.

Extraordinary. We loved everything about the stay from the pigs to the porch to the space to the surroundings. It was a true privilege to stay on the farm. We loved sitting on the porch and listening to the bees, humming birds, and birds. Waking up in the morning to the silence of the prairie was especially special for those of us from the city. One of our most favorite stays in all of our travels. We will be back!

We were suprised to learn that the host lived in the same dwelling that we were staying in. We didn't realize it was a duplex.

Wonderful Rustic farm setting. You can sit in the living room or the window seat in the master bedroom and look at acres of prairie and woods. Deer dashing about and birds flitting around eating seeds on the native plants . There isn't a TV so bring your Laptop or several good books to read. The owner is very likable and down to earth. If you want a quiet setting with beautiful views this si the place to stay.

There was no sign at property entrance to identify it as a VRBO. Very rural country road, it was easy to drive right on by. The unit is an old mother-in-law's apartment, attached to the owners house. The only entrances were through a cluttered garage or through a lockable shared bathroom/laundry between the unit and owner's house. Since there is only one outside entrance we question the legality of this as a rental. (The fact that this unit is attached to the owner's home should have been disclosed in the listing.) There is no TV or other entertainment (radio, DVD or CD player, or games). The view of the valley was beautiful, but only from the bedroom and living room windows. Since the area around the building was overgrown by grass and weeds the only outside viewing area was from the driveway and then only if we had provided our own lawn chairs. After surveying the situation for about 20 minutes we informed the owner that the property was not acceptable and that we were leaving. No refund was requested, and none was offered by the host. If this had been our first VRBO experience, it would have been our last. Fortunately we have had many really good experiences in the past at VRBO properties.

We thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful setting. There was plenty of space, and the beds were comfortable. We even enjoyed the pigs! We spent some time in nearby New Glarus. If you want a quiet getaway, this is the place for you.
