For example, you can head to Gilchrist Park on any Thursday evening and enjoy the weekly guitar army which features local musicians entertaining the public in an acoustic collaboration.



Schools in Punta Gorda are administered by the Charlotte County Public School system. There are five public schools located within the city limits: Charlotte High School, Punta Gorda Middle School, Sally Jones Elementary school, East Elementary school, and Baker Pre-K Center.



There is one private grade school and Punta Gordon, Good Shepherd Day School and Florida Southwestern Collegiate High School is the district’s only charter school.
