The beach at Henne is very popular, and here you will also find Henne Strand Tropeland. From the 64 meter high dune, Blåbjerg, you have a very nice view of the whole area. Take a trip to Ribe, Denmark’s oldest surviving city. Its Viking Museum, which covers the period from year 700 to 1500, is especially recommended. The St. Catherine’s Church and Abbey were founded in 1228 by Dominican friars and is one of Denmark’s best preserved abbeys. Ribe’s City Council dates from 1496. The magnificent Cathedral lies in the centre of the historic town. The museum in Esbjerg, Fiskeri- og Søfartsmuseet, shows the old street and town environment and also holds an amber museum. If you are interested in fishing, the Fiskeri- og Søfartsmuseet has a fine collection of fishing tools, ships and vessels.
