Nečujam with its latin name Vallisurda or the Deaf Bay stems from the very size of Nečujam bay, where any sound gets muffled and turned into a whisper. The tranquillity of the settlement, crystal clear waters, as well as never ending green vistas inspired some of the greatest poets of Croatian history. One of them, Marko Marulić, whose house still stands in the very center of the village. Nečujam bay is the largest bay on the Island, and according to many, the most beautiful one. It consists of numerous beaches and caves on both sides of the bay which you are free to explore.

In central village Grohote one can find a supermarket throughout the year. If you are planning to stay in Nečujam outside the summer months then it is recommended to have a car. You can easily rent a car at Split Airport or at Split Ferry Port.brbrA doctor or pharmacy on the island is located in central village Grohote all year long.brbrThe neighborhood:brŠolta island is the closest island to mainland. It's an ideal destination for quiet holidays, without having to give up visiting Split city in one day. The island of Šolta is near islands Brac and Hvar and the thirteenth largest island of Croatia. Šolta belongs to the central Dalmatian islands. The island is less known, but no less beautiful than other Croatian islands. The island has many bays and inlets and covers an area of 52 km2. On the island many small villages which are definitely worth visiting once: Nečujam, Stomorska, Maslinica, Rogač, Grohote, Gornje Selo, Srednje Selo, Donje Selo.brbrMaslinicabrIt's the only island's village situated in the cove or the western part of Šolta island.
