Cosy retreat in Withypool on Exmoor National Park situated on the River Barle. Conveniently on the Two Moors Way so is a great place to stay overnight and have a restful time in preparation for the trek the following day. In Withypool there is a pub, village shop/PO and tea room. There are great walks from the door either on the moor or along the River Barle. In the Golden Triangle so the best place to see Exmoor at its best. Walk to Tarr steps or Landacre bridge from the bridge in Withypool. There are dozens of pretty villages and scenes to visit all over Exmoor. The annex is self contained with a kitchenette and ensuite shower. There is a sofa and a dining area in the room with clothes hanging space and information/books. The kitchenette has a sink,microwave, kettle,toaster,air fryer, fridge, cutlery and crockery. Tea and coffee plus cereals, fruit, yogurt, milk, toast, orange juice, is included. A cooked breakfast can be ordered at an extra cost. The shower room has a wc, basin, and walk in shower. All towels, soap, shampoo and loo rolls are supplied. Outside there is a seating area and off road parking. One small dog is welcome and there are baskets, rugs, towels, bowls and treats for them. Everyone staying here love the peace and quiet, the dark starry nights and all the delights that Exmoor gives. I can supply maps with all the best places to visit and a picnic to enjoy on your days out.

The famous South West Coast Path, which starts in Minehead and runs 630 miles along the coastline of England’s southwest peninsula to Poole, begins in the town and is just 100 metres from your door. Potter in the shops, dine out in Minehead’s choice of eateries and take the youngsters to Splash Waterworld, less than 1 mile away. Venture 0.5 miles to find yourselves in the magnificent Exmoor National Park, with its fabulous footpaths and roaming ponies that you may spot on the moorlands. Climb to the top of Dunkery Beacon, 7.5 miles away, to take in the panoramic views. Treat yourselves to an afternoon out at the National Trust’s Dunster Castle and Watermill, 3 miles away.brbrMake your way inside via the side door or the front door and hall, where you can slip off your beach shoes or walking boots on the flagstone floor and hang your bags and jackets on the hooks. Make yourselves at home in the stylishly finished lounge/diner, which can be divided to make two separate spaces by closing the bifold doors between the two areas. Switch on the chic wood burner effect electric fire (feature only, not used for heating) to bring a cosy glow to either area. Settle on the handsome furniture in the lounge to watch the Smart TV or gather for a game at the table in the dining room. From the lounge, amble through to the immaculate kitchen, with its tasteful deep blue cabinets and light work surfaces. Whip up tasty meals in here with the fresh Somerset produce you have bought in town, then serve up back through in the dining room. There is also a handy utility area and a downstairs shower room where you can rinse off the sand and salt under the rainfall head. All three of your bedrooms and a second family shower room can be found at the top of the gorgeous, honey-coloured wooden staircase. These bedrooms have been finished with an understated, calming colour palette. From the bunk bedroom, you will be able to see the sea. All the bedrooms have Smart TVs. Carefully climb the steep, narrow staircase to the attic snug.
