An easy 25 minute drive from Cairns City, Palm Cove is one of the most loved resort beach towns, it`s bounded by the lush tropics of Macalister Range National Park, and its palm-fringed esplanade and patrolled swimming beach graces many a postcard. Combine this with boutique shopping and world-class dining, and you have one destination you will be in no rush to leave. br brThe best places to explore from Palm Cove: br brOne of Australia`s biggest drawcards, the Great Barrier Reef traverses a whopping 2,300 kilometres and can be seen from outer space. The colourful marine life and reef system can be explored either by boat or up in the air, but our advice is to gear up and dive in with one of the many operators in and around Palm Cove. Quicksilver Group offer a variety of tours that will take you snorkelling, diving or for a cruise amongst the islands. br brThere is no better way to explore this region than by water. Join a tour or go-it-alone, it is a water wonderland that is just begging to be explored. There is a tonne of options to choose from, but local operators, Palm Cove Watersports, have several tours to pick from, such as their kayaking and turtle tours, sunrise tour, and kayaking and snorkel tours. You can also hire a kayak (singles or doubles) or paddleboards. br brTwo-hours north of Palm Cove is the Daintree Rainforest, and it makes for an incredible day-trip. There is so much to do, from Saltwater Crocodiles spotting along Daintree River to hiking the tropical lowland rainforest. Daintree also has Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture in abundance and Cape Tribulation is where the rainforest meets the reef. A picture-perfect sight that you will never want to pull yourself away from. Jump on a tour and soak up natures finest. br brPalm cove local highlights: br brSpa Treatments brPalm Cove has a variety of spas offering Indigenous inspired treatments and natural, tropical products in treatment rooms overlooking the Coral Sea. One treatment is never enough! br brDining brFrom small beachfront cafes to 5-star a la carte restaurants or private on-beach dining, including three of Australia`s top 200 restaurants, the only hard part about eating in Palm Cove is choosing where to go. br brBicycle Paths brHire a bicycle and explore Palm Cove and surrounds using the network of smooth bike paths connecting the Cairns northern beaches. br brSwimming brAustralian Surf Life Savers are on duty daily and safe swimming nets make Palm Cove Beach an ideal location for year round fun in the sun. br brAttractions: br brThe Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest are all within easy reach. Enjoy swimming or sun bathing at a local beach or try jet skiing, sailing, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding to nearby islands or fishing. brStroll along The Esplanade or take a swim in the man made lagoon. Cairns is also the home of SCUBA Diving in Australia and there are a number of companies offering dive trips and dive courses. br brOther local attractions include the Botanical Gardens, Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and Scenic Rail to Kuranda, Cairns Kart Hire and Laser Tag or try cable skiing at Cairns Wake Park or if you dare AJ Hackett`s Bungee Jump. Visit and feed the crocodiles at Hartley`s Crocodile Farm. br brIf you want to explore further afield you could visit Paronella Park, go wild water rafting at Tully, Sky Dive, tour the Tablelands or simply take the beautiful scenic drive to Port Douglas.
