This spacious, converted, shotgun double is a rare find and perfect for large groups! Spread out in five large bedrooms and three bathrooms. Pets are welcome and will enjoy the huge fenced backyard oasis, complete with a natural gas grill, covered patio, and plenty outdoor living to entertain your large group! The house is professionally decorated, each room with a different style. The house is centrally located just over a mile from downtown and a short Uber ride anywhere else in the city!brbr***Please Note*** As of May 2025, there is some construction going on with the house next door. Activity is sporadic - sometimes they'll work for a few days during the week and then not again for a week or more. If they are onsite, they will typically start around 7AM, and it's possible that noise can be heard inside our home. We've never heard them working on the weekends, though there's no rule against that in the city.br brThis home allows dogs (limit of 2) and they must be 25lbs or smaller. There is a nonrefundable fee for pets charged at the time of booking, so please be sure to include the pets on your reservation. Unauthorized pets will result in an additional $250 fine in addition to the normal fee. brbrThe house has five large bedrooms, three with super comfy king sized beds, one with a comfy queen sized bed, and the fifth with a full over full bunk bed that has a twin trundle bed nestled underneath. In traditional New Orleans fashion, this converted double is shotgun style, which is always a unique experience! There is a well appointed kitchen with everything you need to cook for all your guests. You'll find a natural gas grill right outside the kitchen in the expansive backyard space. There is plenty of outdoor dining, as well as a beautiful outdoor living room under a fully covered pergola. In addition to the backyard space the house also has a lovely front porch with a porch swing and additional seating.brbrThe neighborhood is transitional. It is extremely centrally located to everything that New Orleans has to offer. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. The Canal streetcar line is in walking distance as well. This means that instead of having hallways, the rooms are laid out one behind the other. For this home, you enter the front into the living room, then walk through each of the 3 bedrooms (the full/common bathroom is between BR 1 & 2 in a small hallway, the half bath is in the 2nd bedroom) then reach the kitchen, then walk through the dining room, then out the back door. Please see the floor plan in the photos for a better idea of this layout!brbrSpread out in this vibrantly decorated, spacious unit featuring 3 bedrooms and 1 1/2 bathrooms with two king beds and a queen with comfortable mattresses and linens. Experience the awesome charm of New Orleans and the sportsman's paradise of outdoor activities such as fishing, crabbing, and boating. With a lake view from every room, beautiful sunrises over Lake Catherine can be seen from your bedroom and balcony and sunsets over Lake Pontchartrain can be seen from the balcony or pier. This custom built house features a belvedere room on the third level which is said to be the highest elevation on the island and has 360 degree views including the New Orleans skyline. brbrThe 300 foot pier provides access to fishing and crabbing. Night fishing under the lights usually produces plenty of action and entertainment. Crab directly from the pier with the four crab traps that are provided. A couple of fishing poles are provided but it is suggested you bring your own fishing gear.brbrA boat lift is available along the pier and guests can lift their 22 foot or less boat out of the water to keep it in place while you come in to eat or relax. A marina with live bait and ice is located about one mile from the property.brbrA modern kitchen with a large island provides ample room for meal preparation. Seating for 12 guests is available around the table and island. Guests have the use of a refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, air fryer, coffee maker, and ice maker. A living room with two sofas provides plenty of seating to watch the 55 inch flat screen TV. The TV has a firestick so just utilize your own login information to any subscription service you have. Cable TV service is not available. Highspeed Wi-Fi is available. brbrTwo smaller guests rooms are provided on the first level and two larger bedrooms are provided upstairs on the second level. brOn the third level is a belvedere room with 360 degree views. This area is a great place to watch sunrises and sunsets and can provide a quiet reading space. A gas weber grill and charcoal grill are available on the ground level for preparing grilled redfish or a juicy steak.
