The Rampart house sleeps 6 guest very comfortably and offers a truly New Orleans style living experience.brbrWe are in a historic classic New Orleans neighbord, the Faubourg Marigny. Some house date back to creole days in the early 1800s. Our house was built in the early 1900s, likely around 1915. It was orignally a shotgun double (meaning you could fire a gun from the front door through the house directly out the back). It was designed for two families. In 2008, after Hurricane Katrina we rennovated the house and changed to a single family home, combining the two sides of the house into one more modern floorplan and maximizing the space for today's living. In the 1940s a camelback or second floor was added. It is a studio apartment now and is accessed through the side alleyway and back courtyard. It is NOT part of this rental. This listing is just for the main floor. brbrPublic transportation is just a 3 minute walk and just 1 block away. The streetcar originates and terminates on the corner 1 block from the property. BEST of all, there is a full-service grocery store across the street just steps away. ROBERT'S FRESH MARKET. It has everything you need. We are surrounded by local pubs and neighborhood fine dining eateries. We will provide you with that list at time of booking with us.brbrThis is our personal home, we do live there when we do not have guest. We enjoy sharing our home with our guests. We just ask that you treat it like it was yours! Due tot the new Short Term Rental Laws in New Orleans, our house can only have a maximum of 6 people. We can't host parties, events, gatherings or additional overnight guests beyond the 6 max occupancy. We must enforce this or we will lose our license. No smoking or drugs are prohibited! We just ask to keep all gates and doors closed, locked and secured at all times. For your safety, as well as our homes saftey! We do live in a great well lit, friendly neighborhood.brbrThe Rampart House has central air & heat, Cable TV, phone & internet/WIFI. Plenty of outside lighting. The outdoor courtyard patio area has plenty seating outside as well as a 8ft privacy fence for our guest to enjoy! This area is shared with our upstairs Courtyard Suite property connected to The Rampart House. We call that, the camel-back. br br The Rampart House has a spacious double - Parlor living area. A double sided fire place splits the room into two areas. A large body mirror at the doorway entry, a table with chairs to sit, chat or to play a game of cards, while waiting for others to get ready. Behind the 2 sided fire place is the The sitting area, a quiet space from the rest of the home. A large 3 seater couch as well as two swivel chairs.brThe dining area offers a huge 6 person sit down table and chairs, for that formal dining experience.brbrThe primary suite provides a new and comfortable king-size bed. It's own private bathroom. Two vanities with mirrors, private restroom, its own ( room ) with a closing door. There are 2 regular shower heads, with hand shower wands, and 1 rain fall shower head, for a total of 3 shower heads. A huge private/shared laundry room with 2 washers / Dryers. We supply dye-free detergents, fabric softer, and dye free cling free, dryer sheets, all complimentary for your use. brbrThis room also has a walk-in closet and 2 ceiling fans. A wall mounted SMART tv is easily viewed from the comfort of the bed. Also a large dresser with mirror, side tables on both side of the bed.brbrThe second bedroom has a queen-size bed, a dresser, and a make up mirror stand/desk, for those needing a place for to beautify! as well as a easy access to the 2nd full bathroom in the front of the property. A SMART on the fireplace that can be watched from your bed.brbrOur 3rd bedroom,also has a queen sized bed, walk in closet dresser as well as a SMART TV, to be watched from your bed. a mirror on top of the fireplace mantle. As well as easy access to the bathroom in front of the property. brbrThe Rampart House has a full-size kitchen with new cabinets and granite countertops. Stainless steel appliances include a full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, gas stove, double ovens, and microwave. The rear door of the property gives you access the the private courtyard that is shared with our upstairs Courtyard Suite. (owner occupied )br brbrHair dryers are provided in all both bathrooms, as well as in the half bath, totaling 3 blow dryers. A iron and ironing board, large umbrellas are provided also for those rainy days. Just bring them back please! This is the house for relaxation, quiet time, and is close to everything. brbrWe just ask: We live in a neighborhood where our neighbors are less than 6ft away on both sides of our property. Please respect New Orleans city ordanace noise from 10p-7am. Our Courtyard closes for all guests at 10pm. Please respect our policy. We want everyone to have a pleaseant stay!
