Toscana 5 - FromHometoRome

Roma, Roma, Italy

Via Toscana is part of a grid of streets around the American Embassy in Rome, with buildings designed and completed in the early years of the 20th century.brbrThe building dates back to this era and the careful renovation has preserved some of the elements of that time, such as the original ceilings and the cementine tiles (concrete and hexagonal, very sought after in the original). At the same time, the owners have contrasted them with modern furnishings and details that will appeal to a traveler looking for the real Italy, away from the stereotypes of TV... and social media!brbrToscana 5 has three bedrooms and can accommodate up to 8 people: one of the bedrooms even has a double sofa bed (a queen size) that can be used if you're traveling with small children, for example.brbrThe kitchen is equipped with everything you need should you want to prepare your meals from scratch, including a dishwasher, oven, induction hob, fridge and freezer, a Nespresso machine, a toaster, and a kettle. A washer and dryer is also available for all of your laundry needs. One of the two bathrooms has a shower, while the other has a bathtub.brbrRich in natural light, Toscana 5 comes with independent heating, and air conditioning in all rooms. Our guests will be able to connect to their favorite streaming service (if available in Italy) through a Smart TV. A free Wifi connection is offered free of charge. The complex is equipped with an elevator (the apartment is on the third floor).brbrWe kept for last the really unique feature of this apartment: the common terrace shared with the neighbors, complete with tables, lounge chairs and more, on top of the building. You’re free to use it during your stay between 8 am to 11 pm every day.brbrWe’d like to point out how From Home to Rome is not in any way responsible for the access to the terrace, which could be closed on occasion depending on the arrangements of the building manager.brbrRoof terraces were historically thought of as social spaces, and this building has brought back a long-standing tradition of using them as places for meeting other residents. While they were usually accessed to hang one laundry or to have cookouts, now they’re mostly an extension of one’s apartment, and in this particular case this becomes an extra living room, just… in the open! This explains why certain rules have to be observed: appropriate clothing, opening times, for instance, refraining from making excessive noise, and respecting quiet hours and the building’s residents.brbrBy placing an advance request, the terrace can also be reserved in the evening at a special rate, but keep in mind that the schedule could be already full, as this outdoor space can be rented out for private events. Drop us a line if interested, we’ll be happy to get back to you as soon as possible!

Toscana 2bis - FromHometoRome

Roma, Roma, Italy

In this context, FromHometoRome has been successfully managing several apartments in the same building on the quiet Via Toscana, a few minutes away from a number of embassies (Indian, United States, Indonesian, Japanese and others). Now a fourth apartment has joined its neighbors, once again in the same early twentieth century building. The newcomer is located on the first floor of an elevator-equipped complex.brbrToscana 2 is a one-bedroom apartment that has been recently renovated in a decidedly mid-century modern style, while preserving some of the original features of the accommodation, such as the hardwood floors. Guests enter into a dining/living room/kitchenette that includes a comfortable double Murphy bed, which effectively means that this space can sleep up to four people. The master bedroom has a large wardrobe.brbrThe kitchenette has all the essentials to prepare a quick meal or a hearty breakfast, and it comes complete with an oven, induction hob, fridge and freezer, a microwave oven. A washer is also available for all of your laundry needs. The one bathroom is equipped with a shower.brbrRich in natural light, Toscana 2 comes with a small balcony in the main bedroom, independent air heating and air conditioning in all rooms. Our guests will be able to connect to their favorite streaming service (if available in Italy) through two Smart TVs. A Wifi connection is offered free of charge. We regret that this apartment is not suitable for smokers.brbrAs mentioned, FromHometoRome already manages a number of apartments in the same building, which makes Toscana 2 ideal if you’re looking to travel with a larger group but are concerned about privacy (example: you’re traveling with your parents, or with a group of friends….). As such, get in touch to inquire about availability: we may be able to have you all together!brbrWe kept for last the really unique feature of this apartment: the common terrace shared with the neighbors, complete with tables, lounge chairs and more, on top of the building.
