Just 500 yards from the South West Coast Path and the golden sandy beach of Porth, this cosy and comfortable mid terrace bungalow stands in an elevated position with partial views of the sea between the rooftops. Set in a quiet residential area, the accommodation is fully double glazed offering a comfortable and well equipped home from home at any time of the year, just over a mile north of the bustling holiday resort of Newquay. The Mermaid Inn, seasonal shop and large sandy beach offering easy access and safe bathing are only a five minute walk down the hill. The nearest supermarket is in the village of St Columb Minor, 5 minutes by car, where there is also a traditional pub. There are a wide selection of indoor and outdoor attractions including a boating lake, zoo, aquarium and cinema in the resort of Newquay about 1.25 miles away. Golf, horse riding and ten pin bowling are all available nearby as is coarse fishing at Porth Reservoir. Mawgan Porth and Watergate Bay are two and four miles respectively with Padstow is a 30 minute drive. Stay - The Accommodation... A gently sloping path leads down through the front garden and three steps lead up to the useful entrance porch with the front door opening into a small lobby with laminate wood floor and an adjacent bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath. An inner glass door leads directly into the light and airy living room with comfortable lounge seating facing a gas coal effect fire, a circular pine dining suite and a neatly fitted galley kitchen to one side, all enjoying oblique coastal views from a large picture window. The apartment has been recently decorated with new flooring and furnished to a tasteful extremely high standard, with modern comfortable sofas, large 55 inch curved screen TV, music system and many extras. You will need to use an electronic key fob to gain entry into the block along with the added benefit of allocated secure parking for one car in the basement The apartment has a large open plan lounge/kitchen/diner fantastic bi-fold doors that fully open onto a delightful balcony overlooking the sea, giving you a feel of complete open space, where on warm barmy nights you can sip your wine. the apartment is equipped to the highest standard, with everything you could possibly need. The kitchen is fully equipped with white gloss units, oven, ceramic hob, Integral washing/dryer machine, integral fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, etc. and beautiful granite worktops and games for the children. Free Wi-Fi for the guests. The luxury bathroom and en-suite are both fully tiled and have power showers, plenty of storage space and soft fluffy white towels provided. Please bring your own towels for the beach. Should the need arise the apartment has underfloor heating with thermostats in each room. The bedrooms have fully fitted mirrored wardrobes, and there is a utility room for the storage of you cases. There is also a surf cage in the car park for use to store wetsuits, surf boards, etc. The apartment is situated on the ground floor, in a non smoking complex, with the choice of stairs or a lift if coming up from the underground car park or a ramp if entering from the road. Although in a quiet location it is easy to reach many of Cornwall's main towns and attractions. It is an excellent base for exploring Cornwall. Although you don't have to go far as so many fantastic beaches right on the doorstep, the apartment is situated opposite Whipsiderry Beach, and just 4 mins walk to Porth Beach. There are numerous places of Interest locally including many National Trust properties, St Michaels Mount, Landhydrock House, Trerice House, Bedruthan Steps, Crantock Beach. On the other hand you are only minutes away from Newquay with it's wonderful Surfing beaches - Fistral where the international and national competitions are held, golf club, pubs, spas, wine bars, restaurants and Newquay Zoo. If you are feeling energetic, you can always hire a bike [electric bikes now available at Porth Beach] and cycle the Camel trail. Across the road from the apartment are magnificent cliff top walks, and turning to the left you can walk across to Porth Island a bronze age burial site or turning right you can walk to Watergate Bay approx. 1 mile. I can highly recommend a stroll along the cliff in the morning, or evening and watch the amazing sunsets. You get a feeling of complete safety and relaxation whilst staying at the apartment. Newquay Airport is 2.8 miles away should you wish to fly down also Newquay Station is approx. 1.5 miles away with links from London, Watergate Bay is approximately 1 mile away, where you can join the Surf school or dine overlooking the beach. Locally there are numerous restaurants, and a good choice of major supermarkets in Newquay. A fantastic spot for exploring Cornwall. The apartment is cleaned after each guest leaves.

Towan beach is accessed from steps down from the green and when the tide is out you can walk across to Newquay Harbour and watch the fisherman unload the boats or buy fresh seafood. The beach can also be reached from a set of steps immediately in front of The Old Edwardian.brbrThe penthouse apartment has an amazing view of the Island House. Island House has some very interesting history and was sold by Lord and Lady Long in 2012. Lord Long was a government whip in the Lords from l979 leaving in 1997 when John Major was defeated. Walkers are also perfectly placed to enjoy the very best of the South West Coastal Path, and you can set off on long walks in either direction straight from the door. Trains operated by Great Western Railway run all the way from London Paddington into the centre of town, with only one change at Par. Additionally, Newquay also has an international airport which is around a 20 minute drive. You can either get a taxi here or rent a car for the rest of your trip. brbrThe nearest car park to the apartment is St George’s Road which is about a 2 minute walk away. It has a mix of paid and free parking depending on the time of year and day. From 1 November to 31 March, the charge is £1.20 from 9am – 4pm, and free from 4pm to 9am. Between 1 April and 31 October, from 9am to 4pm the charges are £1.70 up to 1 hour, £3.40 for 1 to 2 hours, £4.90 for 2 to 3 hours, £6.60 for 3 to 4 hours or £8.70 for 24 hours. From 4pm to 9am it is free. The car park is pay on exit, so you don't need to worry about constantly returning to get a new ticket!brbrThere are also many other paid car parks in Newquay as well as free on street parking in certain areas, though finding a space can be difficult in busy periods.brbrOther Things to Note:brThe apartment is centrally located in Newquay, right in the heart of the town. This means all the local amenities are literally on your doorstep, but it also means there is potential for noise. Please be aware of this before booking.brbrAdditionally, there is a bar in the courtyard below, which may occasionally host events.brbrThere is an open surfboard storage area in the communal area which guests can use for their own equipment. However, the store also contains other residents' surf gear.
