Just inland, St Peter's village stages award-winning heritage tours with guides in period costume. You can catch a film at the tiny, olde worlde Palace cinema or take on the windmill at Lillyputt mini golf.brbrAround the headlands, you’ll discover six other sandy Blue Flag beaches; head to Joss Bay to learn to surf, or rural Botany Bay to saunter amid towering chalk stacks. Keep on walking or pedalling to Margate or Ramsgate and further to join the 25-mile Viking coastal trail.brbrIf all that sounds too energetic, you can hop on the Loop bus (or the open top bus in the summer) to explore the vibrant arts and music scene in Margate and the harbour and pubs of Ramsgate.brbrThere’s always a festival on in Broadstairs:brBlues Bash in February, Dickens Week in June, the Bandstand musicians throughout the summer, the Water Gala in July/August, Folk Week in August, and the Food and Drink Festival in October.brbrAt The Lookout, you'll be enchanted by the views, tempted by innovative tastes, and braced by exhilarating cliff-top walks. The hamlet of Reading (formerly Reden or Redyng) Street was established by Flemish refugees in the 17th century.brbrYou will have the entire apartment to yourself, you will also have access to the beach through the bottom entrance and the promenade through the top (main) entrance.brbrUpon entering Beach Lookout you find yourself opening the door into a secure hallway with a telecom to the communal front door and automatic lighting so no need to put your bags down when entering to turn on the light. The first door to the left is the lounge/kitchen/diner which has a bay window overlooking the beach, gardens and pier. This is my favourite spot during a stormy winters day, inside in the warm watching the world go by, the waves crashing over the pier and indulging in a book. brbrYou have a fully equipped kitchen, so you can cook your own gourmet meal, serve up a take away in the crockery and cutlery supplied or walk up the 10 or so steps up onto the promenade where you have a host of fantastic restaurants within a 10 second walk or so. For this season we will be trialling tea/coffee/milk & sugar in the apartment too.brbrWe are constantly improving so at present we have a new sofa in the lounge and are on the hunt for a new table and chairs not to mention additional seating in the lounge which will be completed by July 2026. We have already replaced the televisions, bathroom, completely new bedroom furnishings. brbrIf you follow the hallway to the end you will find your way into the Master Bedroom, upon opening the door you can see the carefully thought out space, with the light bouncing off the newly decorated walls. Your eyes will instantly be drawn to the French doors that lead to that fantastic balcony overlooking the bay. Out here you can sit and enjoy a drink, breakfast or I even like to sit out here on a summers day and read to the sound of the birds and waves lapping the shore. We now have a Super King bed!brbrBathroombrLocated off the hallway we have recently modified the bathroom, with a new shower and all accessories. We include towels for interior use (not beach), a flannel, hand towel and bath towel will be supplied per person. There is also toilet roll and hand soap too.brbrRailwaybrWe are so lucky to have the HS1 High-Speed Railway straight into Broadstairs, so you can be here in 1hr 9mins from St Pancras/Kings Cross on a good day. Slower trains run between the towns 2/3 times an hour.brbrBusbrWe have a fantastic bus system locally called the loop that circles the island and you are never more than 20 mins away from a bus stopping. In the summer they offer open top guided bus tours too.brbrWalkingbrWalking is an easy option, its great to fill your lungs with fresh sea air too but please be careful of the tidal areas between the towns.brbrBicycle Hire/RoutesbrThere is an amazing trail called the Viking Coastal Trail, locally you can hire bikes and information of this too will be ing the apartment.brbrWe require guests to respect the fact that we have neighbours and to be respectful at all times.
