One of a row of terraced cottages built in 1836 for the local fishermen, Seadrift is now comfortable holiday accommodation for up to four people. On the ground floor as you enter the cottage you will find a double bedroom and the family bathroom with bath and shower over. The original old stone staircase leads you down to the lower ground floor and into the characterful living and dining room and through to the well equipped kitchen. The living room has original beams and a wonderful wood burner for cosy nights by the fire, French doors take you out on to the patio where there are two terraces on different levels overlooking the sea. Whether you sit inside or out, you will be mesmerised just watching the ever changing seascape and maybe see some dolphins! Upstairs there are two further bedrooms; a double room with a sea view and a room with a single bed.brbrJust a short stroll will bring you into New Quay itself, a quaint town and the inspiration for Dylan Thomas’s writing when he lived here. You can follow in his footsteps on a marked trail around the higgledy piggledy town. There are independent shops and a good selection of restaurants, pubs and café’s as well as the obligatory seaside fish and chip shops. Take your fish and chips or an ice cream down to the harbour wall and watch the fishing boats in the bay or take a dolphin watching trip to get closer to the resident pods of bottlenose dolphins. From the sea you will appreciate how New Quay clings to the rocks and you see the three resplendent town beaches, all with soft sand. You can take your dogs on two of the beaches all year round and it’s not just your pets that will have a great time; fishing and watersports enthusiasts will love it here too!brbrIf you can tear yourself away from New Quay there are plenty of other options for exploring, including 60 miles of coastline and the coastal path. There are secluded coves at Cwmtydu where seals come to have their pups in the autumn, and at Llangrannog you can enjoy the view from two coastal pubs. New Quay Honey Farm and tea rooms are worth a visit and the colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron is a 10-minute drive.
