The Villa Dama De La Sierra is set in a stunning position overlooking some of the prettiest whitewashed villages in Andalusia. Having spectacular views of the mountains and the coast from Malaga Bay in the West to Nerja in the East. As the sun begins to set, you will start to feel the fresher cooler mountain air and as the shadows lengthen, then give way to truly breath-taking sunsets. The villa is situated on the hillside in the National Park on the footpath to La Maroma, at 2069m (6,828ft)the highest peak of the Sierra Tejeda-Almijaral mountain range which towers over the villa. The setting is beautiful, very quiet with no background noise from any roads and is located by the side of a private lane. An ideal base from which to explore the area, go to the beach, walk-in the hills, or just relax by the private pool. Get the barbie on and have a glass of chilled wine with friends and family, you have found paradise.

We loved our stay in the villa, perfect for a complete wind down with stunning views. The owners have thought of everything and the villa does really feel like a home away from home. Top tip .. due to the villa’s location make sure you hire a car with a decent engine size , our first hire car couldn’t make the final bit of the climb and we ended up going back into Malaga to upgrade it.

The views and area around are what makes this villa a special place, actually breathtaking. Wonderful place to recharge your batteries. We were met in the local village by Simon who we followed to the Villa. I doubt we would have found it otherwise. He will meet you day or night which is a bonus and communicated promptly with us. The roads are a little narrow for the last kilometre or so but you soon get used to it although we didn’t venture out at night. There is a taxi service in the local village which is good for evenings out and a couple of restaurants. Competa isn’t too far, 20-30 minutes and reasonable supermarkets. Best to get your main supplies on the coast before you head up. The villa is well equipped, spacious and clean. It was quite dark inside but ideal in the summer heat I expect and it’s a little tired in parts but that certainly didn’t detract from us enjoying our stay.

Quite remote but worth the extra distance. A comfortable, clean and spacious villa with door-step access to the Natural Park. Excellent WiFi coverage and big screen tv for the cooler evenings (with Nexflix). Very prompt and clear communication throughout the booking process, a straightforward meet and greet with Vikki and Simon (who were helpful and responsive throughout) and the bonus of also meeting Anthony and Andrea. For those who enjoy poolside and patio lounging, a suggestion would be to have some slightly more comfortable (i.e. softer) furniture, but not an issue. Highly recommended for an away from it all escape.

We stayed at the villa for two weeks. It was splendid. The villa has everything you expect (and more). We enjoyed ourselves playing pool, games or swimming and sunbathing. An occasional hike in the backyard is a nice way to be a little active if you would like to be active. The views never stop to amaze and the sunset in the mountains is fabulous. This was one of out best holidays ever.

This is the first time I've used homeaway and was originally nervous about whether the property would be as shown. I had no reason to have been worried as it was perfect! Anthony has an amazing piece of Andalucia in Dana De La Sierra ? The contact from both Anthony and Vikki (our host in Spain) before we arrived was excellent. They ensured we knew all the plans and had everything we might need. The recommendation to shop before reaching the villa was definitely welcome as we just wanted to relax once we arrived. I honestly can't describe how wonderful this place is, with views you just wouldn't get tired of. We would absolutely recommend this villa especially if you love trail/mountain walks or running. Being on the edge of the national park we got lost for hours exploring. Thank you so much - highly recommended and would return.

Excellent villa, everything hoped for and more. Pool and table tennis tables well used. Access roads are tough, but it is more the distance to a local shop that makes you careful to make sure you have the essentials. Overall though it is an excellent villa and facilities and beautiful surroundings.

This was a fantastic villa. So spacious with lots of different areas to relax and enjoy the amazing views. The villa was really well equipped - beach towels, shampoo and even suncream. The kitchen was spacious and also really equipped with things like jars of spices and herbs. Really enjoyed doing lots of cooking - the gas bar b q was great too. There were loads of games for the teenagers - badminton, football, basketball. There was a great pool table but we didn’t use it much because it was so hot in the fames shack. WiFi was excellent and we made great use of Netflix. I totally recommend this villa to anyone.

From booking to leaving at the end of our stay, I cannot fault this villa. We had the most restful, glorious, joyful time. The days just disappeared in a haze of not doing very much really! This area of Spain, once you get away from the built up coastal areas is truly awesome. We loved the local villages, especially Competa for eating out and morning coffee! The villa is situated a long way up but it took us a matter of days to get familiar with the mountain roads. It was too hot to walk much but I should imagine it is a great walking area. As the villa is secluded it is important to have all you need and this one has it all! From toiletries to cooking staples to games room to every channel you need on the tv! The WiFi was excellent. The pool was cooling. The views never failed to amaze. Thank you Dama de la Sierra we had a ball!

My family stayed here for a fabulous week. Yes the drive there was hairy the first time, partly due to a faulty hire car! (Do take out the extra insurance as someone dented our second car with their car door!) When you arrive at the villa you just wanted to stand and look at the amazing scenery. The villa is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. Having a 20 year old & 15 year old the all important WiFi was great, better than at home. We brought some dvd’s with us but didn’t use them as Netflix was a great hit in the evenings after some board games. Vikki & Simon who took us to the villa were lovely and full of ideas of where to go and where to eat. They recommended the steakhouse in Archez which was great and also visiting Malaga old town. We loved Frigiliana which is very pretty and we ate lunch listening to a brass band. We loved the peace and quiet and the amazing views and were very sad to be going home, there is something special about sitting on the patio just taking in the scenery. Thank you for having us, I have already recommended the villa to friends and family and we hope to return soon.
