Stayed Sep 2, 2023Perfect vacation for 60+. Some steps but no problem. To have a car is smart - there are long distances to tourist attractions.

Stayed Jun 24, 2023We had a lovely, relaxed stay on Lake Orta. Mariagrazia and her agent were very communicative and eased the handover on arrival. The property was spotless and faultless in all respects with ample living space indoors and outdoors, and the kitchen was well stocked... the kayaks and table tennis in the basement were a bonus. We enjoyed swimming in the lake and walking to the local restaurants and bars. Bravo Mariagrazia!

Stayed May 27, 2023This was my third visit to the hidden gem - Lake Orta. It was the second time I have stayed in the lovely Villa Pinni. The home has a wonderful view and excellent location.

Stayed May 6, 2023Mariagrazia is a most gracious, kind and welcoming host. Villa Panin is magnificent. The house is beautiful, comfortable and well appointed. Morning espresso and afternoon aperitivo on the patio overlooking Lake Orta were glorious bookends for our days. The village of Orta San Giulio is a precious jewel frozen in time and only a short walk away. The location was perfect for visiting vineyards, the other lakes and even a day trip to Switzerland. Having travelled to Italy numerous times, I can say that this visit touched us most deeply. Mariagrazia, Villa Panin and Orto San Giulio are etched in our hearts and minds and we definitely look forward to returning. Mariagrazia, thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us, thank you for your kindness, warmth and generosity. Until we meet again. Ellie

Stayed Jul 30, 2022What an amazing two weeks in this beautiful villa. The views from the terrace are simply stunning and it’s actually quite hard to drag yourself away to do anything else! However, the beautiful town of Orta San Giulio is only a few minutes walk away with plenty of lake view opportunities along the way. Lots of restaurants and cafe/bars and definitely not to be missed at night when it’s quite magical. The villa itself is extremely comfortable, spacious and spotless. It’s very well equipped with everything you need for self catering. It is a stone’s throw from the lake with a small bathing area and we swam most days. The provision of the two kayaks allowed us to make the most of the lake and was great fun and added to the overall enjoyment of our family holiday (6 adults). The villa is ideally placed for trips slightly further afield and we drove to Lake Maggiore which was well worth the trip but we always enjoyed coming back to the little haven of peace and tranquillity of Lake Orta. Mariagrazia and Enzo were very friendly and helpful. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

Stayed Jun 4, 2022A few minutes walk to the center. We even came back to the jouw once with water taxi ;) .Lovely time spent on the terrace. Space enough so the rest of the family could come to dinner. We couldn’t have asked for more.

Stayed Aug 10, 2019What a lovely family holiday, great location and beautiful villa. The kids loved the canoe and swimming in the lake. The trip to the island was certainly worth doing and the restaurants and bars in Orta were great. We ate at Villa Crespi one day which is very close to the Villa less than a 5 minute walk! If you like the Michelin star experience its definitely worth booking before your holiday. Great holiday.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Truly breathtaking Italian lake scenery with short idyllic strole to historic town center of Orta San Giulio. Luxurious, well equiped villa. Great place for the outdoors: swimming, bicycling, kayaking. Charming and helpful host. Do not forget your mosquito spray.

Stayed Sep 8, 2018Villa Pinin is about one hour's drive from Malpensa airport and it's easy to find. The owners greeted us, showed us how everything works and made us feel welcome. The main living areas are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen is adequate. There are 3 bathrooms, so no problem with queues for a shower. The ladies would have liked some full-length mirrors and the towels supplied were definitely due for replacement (hence 4 stars rather than 5). The best feature for us without doubt was the terrace and lawn. We liked its elevated, South-facing position with views over the lake. It isn't overlooked by other properties and the derelict half-finished hotel behind the property doesn't make its presence felt. A small beach and jetty (there's a canoe in the garage) are a short walk away and it takes only 10 minutes or so to stroll into the lovely town of Orta San Giulio. This can get busy, especially at weekends, but once the day trippers disappear it's a charming place to spend some time, with a good selection of restaurants and bars. Our favourite excursion by road was the Simplon Pass but probably the best day out we had was when we hired a small motor boat from a place in Pella and were able easily to see the entire lake in our own time. We also enjoyed the Alpyland ride at Mottarone -- it's closer to Orta than to Maggiore but you need to go to Stresa to catch the cable car, however the drive to Stresa across the mountains is beautiful and well worth the effort. The Sacro Monte above Orta San Giulio can easily be reached on foot; a weird place but we found it interesting. We were very lucky with the weather but if it had been cold or wet there were cards, games a TV and WiFi to keep us entertained (although the WiFi is a bit iffy and had to be reset once or twice most days). All in all, we were very pleased with Villa Pinin and would recommend it.
