Stayed Mar 17, 2026The VG Villas Management team was very helpful. The villa was a perfect place for 3 couples...nice private bedrooms and bath, as well as large commen areas. Very comfortable home. Good location, close to Spanish town ferry dock, Riteway grocery, The Baths and many really good reataurants. It is best renting a car in my opinion for flexibility.

Stayed Nov 1, 2025The villa was perfect. Very clean. It has the best view of sunset on the island. That’s not hyperbole. It literally has an unobstructed view of the sun setting over St. John. The 360 degree views are unreal. The view from the master closet is better than most views we have ever encountered. The back side of the villa faces East and is surrounded by enormous boulders. The villa incorporates the boulders throughout the property. There is a resident iguana that comes out around 12 pm to sun. He’s pictured as well. Honestly, couldn’t have asked for more in a place to stay. Make sure you hit Coco Maya for dinner. Tapas style and everything is really good. If you are in town for a full moon, go to Little Dix for the beach party. It is open to visitors from outside the resort (fire dancer pictured). I suggest having dinner or going to the Full Moon Party to see this resort. It is the nicest resort in the Virgin Islands. We were married there 20 years ago, so we are biased, but it has won best resort 35 years running. Best views of Moskito, Necker, Saba Rock, and North Sound Harbour can be had at Hog Heaven restaurant. We went for lunch and dinner and did not regret it. We used Speedy’s for our Jeep rental and they were great.

Stayed Jul 8, 2018Christi ensure that all our needs were met during our stay. From greeting us at the ferry, arranging car rental, to escorting us to the villa and stocking the frig with bacon,/eggs/OJ/bread/cream/butter & coffee for breakfast the next day. The villa is situated on Windy Hill -appropriately named for the non stop breezes from the water. The 360 degree views were magnificent! Sunrises and sunsets second to none. The kitchen is well stocked with table & cookware. The villa has 3 huge bedrooms with ensuite and AC. The outdoor back patio is very large - large dining table to accommodate 14 plus. Grill, refrigerator and multiple seating areas make this an ideal location for gatherings. The island was easy to navigate - despite minimal street signage. We explored the island easily in one day. Three beaches we visited several times - Savannah Beach, Spring Bay and Pond Bay. Spring was our favorite. The Baths were also magnificent. The island residents are still recovering from the devastating hurricane in 2017. Despite the challenging conditions that many homes, stores and establishments are still facing the residents of the island are lovely, pleasant and friendly. The Bath & Turtle, Top of the Baths and CocoMaya were our favorites eateries. Waitress Sharon at Bath & Turtle was pleasure to meet! Highly recommend Villa Somoya.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This beautiful home is an absolute gem. One couldn't ask for a more comfortable abode or more mesmerizing views of the surroundings. The house is situated at what is probably the highest point of the southern end of the island. At night, we enjoyed soul stirring views of the moonlit water, the lights of the surrounding islands, the milky way, and shooting stars from the beautiful, expansive multilevel tiled deck. With the windows open, one is lulled to sleep by the smooth sound of the breeze from the trade winds. During the day, gleaming sailboats and even five-masted sailing ships drift along the sound with the entrancing backdrop of the neighboring islands. There is a magnificent sunset every evening from the back deck, and a beautiful sunrise and a staggering view of Taylor Bay from the front. One could not ask for a more ideal location on the entire island. The house is very conveniently located to access points for several spectacular beaches, comfortable and casual dining / drink spots, and not far from fantastic fine dining, night clubs, yacht clubs and more. I feel fortunate to have found a place that exceeded my expectations in every way. Villa Somoya made for a tremendous, comfortable, satisfying vacation. It was beyond difficult to say good bye to the place when it was time to return home to reality! You will NOT be disappointed with this gorgeous, relaxed, luxurious yet unpretentious, comfortable, well appointed and well designed vacation villa!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Stayed at Villa Somoya for a couple weeks over Christmas/New Years. This house has it all, the view, amenities, the solitude and privacy. The huge patio on the Tortola side of the house is unbelievable, you could just almost live outside. The patio and deck on the other side of the house has a dreamy wind that blows all day which helps to keep things cool at night and during the day while just sitting or reading. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need for cooking and entertaining, plus a large outdoor grill and a beverage refrigerator on the large outdoor patio. The owners have thought of everything. The house is within a short drive to food shopping, the beaches down at Spring Bay and an assortment of restaurants. Beach chairs, an umbrella and plenty of beach towels are available for your beach day pleasures. Pack light, Villa Somoya has a washer and dryer at your disposal. Sit out on the lower patio at night with all of the lights off and look at the stars, quite a sight. Make sure you plan some evenings out to Coco Maya, Che Bamboo, Sugarmill and Hog Heaven. For lunch make sure you go to the Mad dog for sandwiches and cocktails, tell Edith that Charlie sent you. Christy will make sure that you are acquainted with the amenities in the house and Margaret will help you keep it clean. Take a day trip out to Anegada to see the pick flamingo's and some of the largest unspoiled beaches you will ever see. If you are adventurous, rent a boat over at Leverick Bay Watersports and go island hopping, you can get a captain if you need one, visit Foxy's and Soggy Dollar over on Jost VanDyke, go snorkeling at the Indians, visit the Willy T, Peter and Cooper Islands. All in all, if you are looking for a great place to stay on Virgin Gorda, whether you want to sight see, go to the beaches or just relax and do nothing, Villa Somoya will not disappoint.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My wife and I had stayed on Virgin Gorda twice before, both times in Nail Bay. Villa Somoya was a really nice change of pace being much closer to Spanish Town and The Baths. The views in any direction are great, Tortola, Gorda Peak, road to North Sound, airstrip (will get to this later), Fallen Jerusalem, The Baths, and the Valley are all within view. There are literally two sides of the house, the windy (east) and the more still (west) on the patio. There was only my wife and I but this house could easily accommodate 6-8 people. We never used AC the whole week because the breezes provided the best cooling. It's convenient to many restaurants in the Valley but is also stocked with everything you would need to cook at home. Bring your ipod with favorite music. The villa is at the top of a hill but if you like to run, it is convenient to all the roads or just do hill repeats. The back terrace is also a great place to practice yoga. Now to the best features. The house is surrounded by, and includes, the same type of boulders that typify VG. The ones in the front (windy) side provide great climbing and views of the airplanes arriving and departing from the airport. Watching and filming the planes coming in and out was one of our favorite activities. Have I mentioned the outdoor shower? Great shower outside the second master bedroom. It doesn't drain that well but damn, it's an outdoor shower. If you want a place to chill, entertain, or be in a central location on VG, this place will likely fill the bill. If you don't absolutely require a pool, there is one at Top of the Baths restaurant and there is also Spring Bay, then you will love this place. Lastly, I just want to thank Howard for getting us acquainted with house and Margaret for helping keep it clean and appointed. I am missing Virgin Gorda so much right now.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We booked a trip to Virgin Gorda for a special occasion - our third anniversary. The outstanding service began at the airport when we were met by Howard, the property manager, who had arranged for our rental car to be waiting for us as soon as we walked off the plane. Howard was funny, friendly and knowledgeable about the best beaches, restaurants and grocery stores on the island. After the quick drive from the airport we pulled up to the house and I have to say I was floored! The house is on top of one of the highest spots on the south side of Virgin Gorda. We had seen the photos, but in person the views were even more amazing. Walking up to the front door of the villa, all you see is the Caribbean, all you feel is the breeze. It was the perfect welcome after traveling. Howard showed us all the amenities and fixtures in the villa, however I sort of zoned out after I saw the world’s best hammock. Off the main outdoor space (which includes super comfy couches and a top of the line outdoor grill), there is a macrame hammock that provides a view of both sides of the house. Look left and you see the ocean, look right and you see the lush green of Virgin Gorda with a backdrop of sky and sea. Absolutely incredible. Seeing as it was our anniversary I had to share, but I hogged as much hammock time as I dared! What was so nice about staying in the villa, as opposed to a resort or hotel, was that it really was like having a home away from home. The kitchen had every cooking instrument I could ever want, and we were able to cook a fair amount of our meals. The house was a quick three minute drive from a grocery store, so it was easy to stock up on the basics. We elected to have Margaret, a woman recommended by the owner, prepare a home cooked West Indian meal for us one night. Having a taste of the local flavor while watching the sunset over the island is a memory we won’t forget! Virgin Gorda itself was such a wonderful, friendly, beautiful place. Having a home base and really exploring one island was really special. We were so relaxed and really enjoyed driving to all the different beaches, learning the Island. When all is said and done, I can’t wait to book our next trip down! Highly recommended!!
