Villa Orchidea - Historical villa with pool

Beautiful Villa, we were a group of 13 and we had an amazing stay in June.

The villa was as historic as it gets. The views from the backyard were amazing. There was plenty of room for our family holiday of 8 adults. Everyone had their own space and bathrooms were plentiful. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked with plates, pots, pans and glassware for all. Communication with the manager of the property was A plus and they even helped us coordinate an amazing birthday dinner on property. On the downside, the property needs a lot of deferred maintenance. We were there during rain storms and three of the rooms and bathrooms had large leaks which made everything in those rooms wet. Also, the humidity was off the charts which did not allow us to wash and dry clothes because nothing can dry in those damp environments. Additionally, it seems the house must have been left open because there were bugs all over inside when we arrived (and we’re from Florida so we know bugs). Also, the weather did not provide much opportunity to enjoy the outdoor spaces and the mosquitoes were off the charts bad. The location was also quite challenging to find so following the written instructions was essential with a minimum 25 - 30 minute drive to most locations of interest. All in all, we had a lovely time together and enjoyed Tuscany as a whole. There is so much beauty.

Nice villa in a great location

The property is so beautiful and we loved the pool and the outdoor eating areas. The rooms were beautiful and the bathrooms are all updated and lovely. My only negative comment is that given how expensive the house is we were expecting to have soaps, hand soaps, toilet paper, shower gels, etc. I also suggest ensuring your guests have cleaning supplies in the kitchen and more than 2 dish towels. Additionally, laundry detergent for the laundry room. These seem like pretty basic things. We rent homes and villas when we travel and are accustomed to having these be well stocked wherever we rent. This was the only disappointment.

Generally okay but a bit of a hotch potch of unmatched crockery and glasses. No shaker to make cocktails, airconditioning units not working, bulbs missing or not working and often no hot water. Lots of trip hazards. Housekeeper very pleasant but we were a bit disappointed.

We absolutely loved our stay for a group of friends for a big birthday. the bedrooms were large and all perfect except the weird one with the twin beds. we added an amenity by adding a catered chef dinner one evening and it was 100% worth it - the meal and staff were amazing. great communication during check in and check out via whatsapp . wifi worked great. only issue was transportation - this home is not near the train station and there are not cars available in Certaldo . If you stay here your group will need vehicles.

This is a Beautiful property, with plenty of room for our family of 10 travelers. Centrally located in the hills above Certaldo, in the Chianti Region. Easy day trips to Florence, Siena, Lucca, Pisa, Cinque Terra by car or train. Great location for just relaxing as well. The management team was very accessible and kept us updated from the time the reservation made, to the time of checkout. Near by are local restaurants, and a well stocked grocery store. I would recommend this location and Villa to anyone.

Great place to be. Very spacious. Beautiful outdoor sitting and dining area. We would recommend to install an outside heater at the sitting area. Excellent. location. Well equiped kitchen.Bedroom Quality Good and spacious.Surrounding is beautiful. Certaldo has a good supermarket (Coop). Sienna, San Gimignano and Firenze are within a 45 minutes drive.Beautiful (large) pool. Very clean and well maintained!All bathrooms are well equiped, spacious and clean.property ownerreliable and good communication.

A fantastic place for the large family or group of friends to celebrate life in beautiful Toscana. We were 7 couples and enjoyed the privacy of own room and bathroom in combination with the in and out door facilities for us all. A place to recommend for sure. Remember to book the nearby restaurant (walking distance) for a quality meal at very resonable price. And dont forget to try a wine/olive oil tasting and a walk in the winyards. Many options around the area
