Surrounded by Nature | Pool, Ping Pong & Views

The house itself was lovely, clean, well-equipped, lovely outside spaces with lots of options to sit and relax. The pool was great, we paid extra to have it heated and the whole family were in and out all week. Location was good, you need a car but there’s plenty to do in the area. Biggest bonus though was Eva and her incredible hosting, we arrived in the evening after a delayed flight to a beautiful home cooked meal, homemade cake and ann incredibly well stocked fridge. So completely beyond anything I’ve seen from a host before. She also provided a wealth of recommendations for places to eat, where to park, the best beaches to suit our young family. And even suggestions of what to do based on the weather. Thank you so much Eva for making our holiday super easy!

The property was spacious, clean and well equipped. The beds were comfortable and the linen was cotton. The outside area is very well equipped and there are several shady places to sit. The pool was clean and a perfect t temperature. Towels were provide for both the beach and the pool which is very helpful When travelling light. Communication between Etouri and the owner were was excellent. We were contacted regularly to see if we needed anything and Eva the owner went out of her way to make suggestions for day trips and restaurants. They could not have been more helpful.

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Athenaea. Great location, pool, AC in bedrooms. Hosts provided extensive starter pack of groceries and several rounds of baked goods. Private.

Eva was a prefect host. The villa was lovely and beautiful views. Pool was large and great fun. Had a fantastic holiday which we shared with a wide age range. Everyone happy and enjoyed themselves. Eva was very kind thoughtful.

We stayed for a week - 2 teens, 2 65+ and 1 adult at Villa Althaea in Loutra, a 10 minute drive from Rethymno. The listing is very accurate. 2 bedrooms (incl master) and a shower room on the first floor, kitchen/diner and lounge on ground floor and downstairs large twin room with bathroom. Ping pong table also outside on lower floor. Covered parking and secure gates made you feel very secure and private. The villa was appointed with everything we needed, including shampoo and shower gels, towels for pool and bath. The communication with Etouri the villa company was first class - immediately after reserving and until checkout. They also offer an excellent complimentary concierge service and made us restaurant reservations etc. In addition, the villa owner Eva was so welcoming. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her. She welcomed us personally at the villa and had made homemade lasagna for our dinner, stocked the fridge with wine, milk, bread, butter and even ice creams in the freezer! During the week the pool and cleaning service came - fast and efficient and very friendly. Eva supervised again and even bought us more treats! And then she checked us out and was flexible with the time of our departure. We’ve never experienced such attention and service at any villa we’ve visited previously. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and stay again. The restaurant up the road deserves a mention - food is great and very reasonable, service friendly, portions huge.

The villa exceeded expectations! It was very clean when we arrived, and was cleaned multiple times during our stay (fast, efficient and friendly cleaning staff). It was very private and secluded. The rooms were very comfortable and homey. The best part of this Villa truly is the host we had, Eva. Eva is the definition of perfection! She was beyond accommodating, super sweet and friendly, saying she went above and beyond would be an understatement. Eva insured we felt at home and like family from the moment we walked in, all the way through our stay, and sent us off as a loving family member would. I would 100% pick this place again next time I visit. Thank you Eva!

Villa Althaea was perfect, very clean, had everything and more you could possibly need. Loved the extra touches including a homemade lunch and cake left by the owner of the property welcoming us to Greece. So nice to have our very own private pool. Very sad to leave this beautiful villa. Only 1 restaurant within walking distance, so took a taxi to the beautiful Rethymno old town where there was loads of great restaurants and bars.

Arrived at Villa Friday evening, and greeted by hostess Eva who gave us a tour of property and had left us a meal and a bottle wine which was gratefully received as our outbound flight had been delayed. The Villa has stunning views of the countryside down to the coast. It is fully equipped with all that you need for a great vacation. During our stay Eva kept in touch and ensured we had all we needed, she gave us tips on restaurants and places to visit. The pool was amazing and was cleaned during our 7 day stay. We would definitely recommend the Villa. To fully make the most of stay and easily explore island I would recommend hiring a car. Although Rethymno town is a short taxi trip away - we paid €20 e/w

Our first villa booking and extremely pleased we chose Villa Althea, Eva the owner was fantastic and very informative. We stayed for two weeks 30/07/23 to 13/08/23. The villa was cleaned on Tuesdays and Fridays including the pool. The property is modern airy and an extremely good size over 3 floors. With aircon in bedrooms. Everything you need is there a dishwasher, washing machine, iron, fridge freezer, bbq, table tennis table sun beds, list goes on. Eva treated us to may Greek cakes etc wont list as we were really surprised and I wouldn't want to spoil your surprises when you book. I say when as you won't be disappointed. You will need to hire a car though which you can park behind an electronic gate in the grounds:) The villa even has wifi netflix and prime so overall home from home :). There is a main road next to the property which occasionally produced road noise but not worth worrying about, we had a fabulous time.

This is the second time we have stayed at a villa in Rethymno with the Etouri service and we would definitely do so again. The villa itself was exactly as listed, beautifully presented with everything needed and a great size for a family of 4 / 5. We spent hours by the pool and in the outdoor space relaxing and enjoying the fantastic sea views, and very quickly felt at home as all the rooms are very comfortable and well equipped. It is a little out of town which gave it a more relaxing feel and a car is preferable (and easily parked in the secure car port) but there were regular buses and a taxis can be easily arranged. There is also a lovely taverna about 5 mins walk away with a beautiful terrace, good value menu and a family feel. Eva the owner was the perfect host, making us feel at home from the outset with delicious homemade food awaiting us for our arrival and a well stocked fridge. She had great tips and was very responsive to any issues or questions throughout our stay and her farewell was as kind as her welcome. The Etouri concierge service provided the usual excellent service and were equally responsive and professional from booking to departure, giving that extra sense of security. If you’re looking for a lovely villa in central northern Crete to relax in, which comes with great service from the owner and the added peace of mind of a first class travel service, you will struggle to find a better one.
