Sunspot Villa 4 BEDROOMS Runaway Bay, North Coast Beach

Sunspot Villa is a wonderful home with warm, friendly, happy and very helpful staff. The spacious and meticulously cared for property sits directly on a sparsely populated beach. There are (4) comfortable, outdoor seating arenas to satisfy any mood, in or out of the sun, plus (8) chaise lounges and (3) umbrellas on the beach. The (4) rooms are comfortable in size, with Queen beds (would prefer 1-2 kings) and a roll-away single, if needed, we did, (for an additional charge). Both indoor and outdoor dining areas are comfortable and spacious (we were a party of 8 adults, and were very comfortable.) The best part of Staying at Sunset Villa is the staff. Erica is very knowledgeable, helpful in every way and happy. Matthew is nearly always present to attend to your daily needs: setting the table, searving food, clearing, moving furniture, bringing cushions, supplying the outdoor fridge and snack bar, bringing your morning coffee to wherever you happen to be sitting, etc. etc.

House is amazing. Food is utterly delicious. Beach is somewhat private and just lovely. Pool is the perfect beginning and end to every day. Rochelle, Samoy, Katieann, and Erica took such great care of us. They even went out of their way to throw a special birthday dinner. Book this place! You won’t be sorry! And we will be back with kids and more friends. Thank you for making our vacation so magical.

I am writing this review just 72 hours after my family and I stood on the beach marveling at the crystal blue water of Runaway Bay. We are back home now in Los Angeles but seriously longing to return to Jamaica as soon as possible. For anyone reading this review who is planning a trip to Jamaica, let me tell you about our experience at the Sunspot Villa. From the minute you arrive through the property's front gate and catch your first glimpse of the property's pool, garden, and beachfront, you won't ever want to leave. If you are looking for a private, relaxing place to kick off your shoes and call home for your stay in Jamaica, Sunspot is an ideal option. Erica (Property Manager) and her staff made us feel welcome and cared for from minute one. From serving excellent tropical drinks to building a magnificent bonfire on the beach, they literally catered to our every whim. The property feels quaint, yet spacious enough for a large family or group of friends. It boasts an incredible beachfront, soft sand, great swimming pool, reliable Wi-Fi, ceiling fans and air conditioning units that keep all of the rooms comfortable, and there's even a massive outdoor TV by the pool. Excellent! Also, the villa and its beach felt very safe. Really, you never need to leave the property. However, our family is pretty adventurous and traveled all over the island during our two-week stay. Sunspot is perfect for those planning to spend time between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, but is far from destinations like Negril and Kingston. I suggest arranging for a savvy driver if you plan to explore. Again, thank you to Wayne, Erica, and the entire Sunspot team for such great fun! Ya Mon!

Stayed during covid quarantine so was confined to property but it was a great way to be quarantined! Pool and beach access perfect for a staycation... Chairs and umbrellas were set up daily at the beach. Erika was absolutely the best! She came by everyday to check in and she was able to get all food/beverage requests for 11 very different preferences/picky eaters! Wayne was also great in responding and answering all questions quickly via email prior to the trip! A few extra details that would’ve been nice... drink/alcohol or snack service at the pool and beach. Staff was accommodating when asked!

Property lovely. Pool and proximity to beach spectacular. Foor over the top excellent. On the dow. Side was the noise from houses on either side. It was probably bad enough to keep us away in the future, which is unfortunate. On the housekeeping side we were perhaps spoiled by an experience we had two years ago when laundry was done daily at no extra charge and rooms were cleaned every day. This was a disappointment. All in all we had a great time, and hats off t Erika who always took care of small and large requests. She made a huge difference in our vacation.

We cannot say enough about our time at Sunspot Villa! We were traveling with 4 adults and 7 children (ages 2-10). As soon as we made our inquiry about the property, we knew our vacation was going to be terrific. Email communications were quick and responsive. We elected the meal plan, which is WELL WORTH it. And we were able to deal with allergies and food preferences in advance. We even raised a question about whether there was a pool alarm so that our littlest ones would be safe at night, and the owner loved the idea and worked with us to purchase an alarm that is now available to future guests at the home. We were picked up in a large van that fit us and our 14 bags, plus carry-ons. After a 45-50 minute drive from Montego Bay airport, we arrived. The entire staff greeted us on arrival and from that point we didn’t lift a finger for 7 days. The house is impeccably clean and has four bedrooms, plus a casita with two additional rooms. We all had plenty of space and our own bathrooms. There are two master suites with views, which made for a perfect set up for our group. The pool is right off the back of the house with an expansive and beautifully landscaped yard that faces the beach. Our kids played badminton and soccer and loved exploring the flowers and looking for wildlife. The yard is matched only by the beach with its sugary sand, turquoise water, daily visits from a group of local manta rays, and an amazing reef that we snorkeled in for hours each day. In a week, we managed to go horseback riding, take a cruise on a glass bottomed boat, buy souvenirs, body surf, paddleboard (our own that we brought along with permission), and more all without getting in a car. The food was amazing. We opted for traditional Jamaican cuisine and were delighted by the nightly array of seafood, hearty breakfasts (including delicious Caribbean porridge), and various stews, bbq and veggies at lunch. The staff anticipated our every request, cleaned our rooms daily, were warm and friendly to the kids, and made amazing drinks for the adults (and smoothies for the kiddos) whenever we asked. We loved having the property manager staying onsite (though back in a part of the property that we didn’t even notice). She woke early each morning and greeted us with coffee and was available for any questions or needs that came up. We finished our trip feeling pampered, relaxed and recharged. We definitely plan a return trip to Sunspot Villa!

This gorgeous beachfront villa on Runaway Bay, Jamaica was a perfect get-away for our large family gathering. It was nothing short of amazing. Our extended family of 13, including 5 young children had a most wonderful week. The villa is tastefully decorated, impeccably clean and is surprisingly large and easily accommodated us. The grounds are beautifully kept with an abundance of flowering shrubs and plantings surrounding the kidney shaped pool. Pass through the gate and there is the soft, sandy beach and turquoise waters of Runaway Bay. Wayne and Erica, our ever-charming hosts, and coordinators, took care of everything and made sure that our smallest needs were attended to. We felt truly spoiled. The staff was kind, friendly, attentive and took pride in their work. The meals were home cooked, delicious, beautifully presented and included kid-friendly options. We especially enjoyed eating many of them outdoors. This was a vacation that none of us will soon forget. Added features: our snorkelers loved the coral reef, which is a short swim from the beach. Our scuba divers took a dive boat to the underwater canyon and sunken ship. We did a walking tour into the surrounding hills and a day trip to Blue Hole. There was fun for all.

I can safely say that no one in my family of 11 was disappointed. Erica and Wayne have created a magical place filled with magical helpers. The house is clean and comfortable. The outdoor space is perfect, even on rainy days. But the most important factor is the level of service their staff provide. For a few brief days, I felt totally spoiled as did my granddaughters and my 92 year old mom as well as all in between. Chef Fred treated us to authentic gourmet Jamaican food which satisfied all of my foodie kids. Five stars to Sunspot, without a doubt!

We had such a memorable and enjoyable stay at Sun Spot. The house and grounds were gorgeous and the homemade Jamaican meals were far superior to eating at a restaurant. We had three young children and an infant traveling with us and the staff went above and beyond to make sure the kids enjoyed their stay too. Erica and the staff bent over backwards to accommodate picky eaters and helped make the adults’ stay relaxing. I joke that a vacation with kids isn’t really a vacation; however, a week at Sun Spot proved me wrong! It was a restful trip that we hope to repeat next year.
