Stayed Dec 28, 2016This is a simply beautiful estate with incredible views of Santa Barbara and the Coast. The outside patio with a fireplace and seating is a terrific place for a meal or snacks while enjoying the view. The bedrooms are all quite comfortable. The only downside is that the upstairs rooms with wonderful views have no drapes so you get full sunlight right away in the morning. If you wake up if there is too much light then this will bother you. The grounds are lovely. The kitchen is well equipped for any kind of meal prep that you want to do and there is a gas grill as well. The owner is very helpful and gave us some nice tips. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Stayed Dec 18, 2016The house, the host, the environs all collaborated to make our multigenerational stay terrific. Our host was very kind, available when we had questions, and made us feel most welcome. The drive way accomodated our three cars and a total of 8 stayed in the house. We all agreed we would want to visit again.

Stayed Oct 14, 2016We had an unforgettable stay at this wonderful estate. The views surpass the pictures by miles. The owner was very helpful and you really do feel as if you are in the Riviera of another country.

Stayed Sep 3, 2016Laurel was great, she has done an amazing job with this beautiful quintessential Santa Barbara home. It couldn't have been better, it was clean open airy with lots of beautiful gardens and patios for all of us to enjoy. We were two families of 4. 4 Adults and 4 older kids, 13, 17's, 21. Thank you Laurel we really enjoyed our stay and we will be back again.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969I read all of the reviews, and feel I can't say much new ... our story is much the same as the others ... a group of six girlfriends chose this house for a special 25 year reunion. The pictures do not do this house justice. Everywhere you look, there's something to feast the eyes on ... from the view that goes on for miles, mountains, Santa Barbara and ocean ... to the lovely paintings, antiques and Spanish Colonial feel of the house ... to the gardens that beg to be explored and sprawl out through the property. I had to pinch myself! While he house is older, which makes for quirky locks, and uneven floors, this only adds to the charm. The furnishings are incredibly cozy, and there are so many places to lose yourself, both inside and out, with a book, glass of wine, or to visit. We used every room ... coffee and wine on the terraces, breakfast al fresco and in the dining room, after dinner drinks in front of the fire. There are many classic books in the library, the kitchen is well appointed, and there are TV set ups, although with so much beauty, who had time? The only con is the location, as it is twisty turny up the hill, but it really turns into a pro as the view begs you to never leave. I'm counting the days until I can return ...

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Six of us ladies booked a few days in this magical villa. The whole property gives you the feeling that you are somewhere far away from all the chaos that is life. We relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed all the gardens and the patios. Every little space in this house holds another surprise. Laurel made us all feel so welcome, and the houses stunning! We will absolutely be making this a repeat destination.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Beautiful property. However, the 2nd bathroom upstairs had minimal lighting ( one sconce by door) and only a bathtub w/a handheld shower head which was not modern, comfortable, or practical.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Our family of four recently rented this home for the week between Christmas and New Year's Eve. We have rented many homes (probably 15, including 3 in SB) over the years & this was a standout. What makes it special? Here are our thoughts: 1) The small things: it is always in the details. We loved the wonderful books in the home, the nice toiletries in the bathrooms & the fabulous boogie boards that Laurel left for our children. 2). The view: it is as good as described in the other reviews. We had 5:00 sunset each night with a glass of wine on the patio. (There are multiple patios & we spent a lot of time outside.) 3). The home: The home is a classic...great architecture and beautifully, yet comfortably, furnished. The home that we rented (at a higher price) last year was not clean & this home was perfectly kept which we appreciated. We highly recommend this home. Our only thoughts are to expect a drive up (the beautiful view does require some work!) of about 7 minutes & expect to use your GPS. Also, bring eye-shades if you are not a morning person as there are no curtains in the upstairs bedrooms. (On the flip side, it is magical to wake up to the red/orange sunrise.) We would rent this home again...truly special.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969A group of friends stayed here for two short nights and it was a fantastic place. Classic old house perched on the hill, amazing view, great grounds. Laurel was great and easy to work with to set everything up. Far enough from town to be quiet and relaxing but close enough to run for more wine if needed. There's a great patio and fireplace and the views are ridiculously good. Definitely didn't want to leave.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We were in Santa Barbara attending a friend's daughter's wedding. I was in charge of finding a house for our group, this villa could be rented as four bedrooms, there is a studio outside of the main house. I was a little worried that our friends might find the house a bit old. The minute we walked in, everybody was going 'woo and ah, the villa is more beautiful than the pictures shown. The view is stunning, it feels like you are on the Mediterranean coast. We love sitting on the patio having breakfast and watch the fog dissipate, the ocean becomes clearer, we also love sipping wine outside in the evening, with the fireplace lit, watching the city lights below us and the stars above us twinkle. We all agreed that we would like to be back.
