Stayed Jun 16, 2022This property really is like a fairytale property due to the fact of just how beautiful it really is. Catherine the onwer of the VRBO was quick to answer my questions and was an incredible host, I couldn't have asked for a better stay. Perfect for a couple getaway or for family time. The best part is going to Antigua for the day and coming back to the house because it's so comfortable to stay in. This is a great place to stay!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Catherine’s home was a great home base for our family for the month of June. It’s about a 10 minute drive through coffee fincas to Antigua and the house has gorgeous views of the volcanoes. We loved sitting on the large upper deck and watching the lava flow from Volcan de Fuego on clear nights. The gardens surrounding the home are lovely and the caretakers are kind. Please note that you must be willing to drive to stay here as Ubers will drop off at the property but are rarely available to pick up at the property. Catherine graciously allows her guests to rent her (manual) vehicle for a nominal fee. Catherine was kind and easy to communicate with and gave us detailed information about the property before we arrived. Catherine also kindly arranged a ride from our hotel in Guatemala City with Roberto for $40, and we later hired to take us on a trip to Tikal at the end of the month. We highly recommend Roberto and he speaks English fluently. This is a great place to stay if you plan to spend time in Antigua.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969A very safe and private enclave that allows a family the tranquility needed along with easy access to Cuidad Vieja and Antigua. Layout of property is excellent and wood fired sauna is a big hit. Catherine is expeditious on her replies and having the two bodyguards (Kiara and Barley!!) made our stay that much more enjoyable. If you love dogs, you will love these 2. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a well maintained home with easy access to Antigua

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My wife and I stayed in Catherine's home for two and a half months while we explored and volunteered in Guatemala. It was incredible. The location of the home is about ten minutes outside the city of Antigua in a very small town called Cuidad Vieja. The small town is much quieter, cheaper and less polluted then Antigua. The property sits in fields of coffee and avocado trees where my wife and I along with Catherine's two dogs explored for up to two hours a day. You can see volcanoes from your bedroom balcony. There are horses on the property. Beautiful gardens. We plan on having large family gatherings here in the future if this property is still available. If you are tired of being in a city and want to get away to relax go to Catherine's home. Don't waste your time paying for hotels in Antigua. You'll forget about all the things in life that you think are so important and start appreciating all the incredible nature on this Earth with the ones you love. That's what its like being at Catherine's house.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Catherine house was a very relaxing place to stay. We were lucky to be able to stay at the house before and after the delivery of my baby girl helping me and my husband to be tranquil and get prepared for the geat day, with the beautifull views of the volcanoes and the contryside, and with the special presence of the two charmy and clam dogs (Barley and Kaira) who accompanied us for long walks which helped me a lot. Catherine and her employees were always available during our stay at her house, they always were accessible for any questions that we had. I really really recommend to stay in that magical and spectacular house. I know that you will not regret it.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This villa and its surroundings are even more beautiful and peaceful than the pictures reflect. It is large, but feels cozy (the fireplaces are perfect) and elegant, with a rustic touch. It can serve as the perfect escape from the world (I arrived solo), a romantic getaway, or family home base while traveling. It is extremely safe and private. It offers amazing views and nearby paths to walk the countryside. The best view might be from the master bath tub, which you will use often. If you are looking for a luxurious stay in the Guatemalan countryside (but not far from Antigua), this is the place. I would pay twice as much to stay here!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Congratulations, reader! You have just discovered one of those treasures that can transform your vacation from a nice trip into an unforgettable experience! My family just spent six wonderful weeks in this lovely home and every day of our stay was such a pleasure. Words can't describe the beautiful location, spectacular views and gorgeous grounds. The house is meticulously maintained by the very gracious and helpful staff and Barley, the lovable resident dog is a totally charming host. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and it is great fun to explore the local markets and then return home to cook up a Guatemalan feast and enjoy it on one of the many pretty patios! Having access to a car was a great advantage and we really enjoyed getting to know Ciudad Vieja, Antigua and other nearby villages. The owner was unfailingly helpful, providing great information and going above and beyond by generously arranging airport transport and assisting us in finding child care services. Book this amazing property now! You'll be treating yourself to a truly delightful adventure and, if you're like us, your first stay won't be your last one.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My family stayed in this beautiful home for 2 and a half months during the summer of 2011, and all of our expectations were exceeded. The home is away from the tourist hustle and bustle of Antigua but close enough to drive in to shop and enjoy a nice meal. Our favorite part of the home was sitting out on the deck at night and watching lava explode from the Acatenanco volcano. The house is comfortable and the gardens are absolutely fantastic. Although the house is away from it all and in the middle of the Guatemalan farms, we felt safe and well cared-for by the onsite staff. We would definitely stay in Catherine's home again. Thanks for a great summer!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This is a beautiful Tuscan villa style home with amazing gardens visited by lots of birds. I can still see in my mind the morning light that made it a joy to awaken. The tub with a view was my favorite thing. That said, some people would not appreciate the glass door on the bathroom (which allows the light). WiFi worked but no cable tv so if you need tv not so good. Distance from Antigua is a drawback but you can rent the owner's car very reasonably. For about 2 blocks the road to the house is lined with garbage so all but driver should close eyes. The house and grounds were spotless and the cleaning lady a joy. The owner was very helpful. The amazing views in every direction made up for any inconveniences.
