Its elevation in the hills creates views of the glimmering ocean & neighbour islands with a secluded feeling. BUT you'll be just 550 yards from Long Bay's white-sand beach & oceanfront bars & restaurants

LIVING AREAS:
Activate 'holiday mode' as you enter Solaria through the grand wooden doors into the tropical plant-bordered courtyard. It's the perfect introduction to your own little slice of paradise. The villa is split into 3 pavilions and you'll find the living areas in the main house.

The front door leads into the heart of the house with ocean views everywhere you look. The living room is furnished comfortably for 6 or more, with breezes flowing through windows and doors on 3 of the walls. The 55 flatscreen with local FLOW box is there if you need it as is the AC. A set of screened French doors leads to a small porch overlooking the ocean while 2 more sets of French doors lead directly onto the screened-in porch for relaxed dining al-fresco any time of day or night without the bother of mosquitos...I know some of you out there are very attractive to those little bugs!

The kitchen is well-equipped with stainless steel appliances and plenty of space for more than one chef in the house... The kitchen has a hatch making it easy to pass through to the screened-in dining room, and it has double doors leading to the indoor dining room which is decorated with a selection of pretty, eclectic pieces. Leave the French doors open for breeze or close and turn on the AC.

BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS:
It's actually rare to find a villa with 3 such comparable bedrooms so that couples sojourning together don't have to pull straws over who sleeps where! Each bedroom is fully screened, has a comfortable and beautifully dressed king-size wooden bed, an en-suite bathroom and French doors leading to a private balcony with seating, ocean breezes and mesmerising views of the azure waters

1) The Primary suite is in the 2nd pavilion just short sunlight filled stroll past the pool. It's a lovely room furnished with Balinese teak furniture with ensuite bathroom and a balcony that's the perfect spot for a little reading, surrounded by the lush foliage rustling in the breeze.

2&3)The 3rd pavilion is to the right of the main entrance and houses two more bedrooms. One bedroom is upstairs with a 33'' flatscreen TV with local FLOW box and a shower and tub in the bathroom; the other down a small flight of steps from the courtyard ensuring everyone has their privacy.

STEP OUTSIDE:
Solaria is at the perfect elevation for the ocean to take on that glassy, serene appearance as yachts cruise by, and yet you can walk to Long Bay beach below in just minutes. The L-shaped pool and surrounding deck is the prefect spot to admire these views with a drink or book at hand with plenty of areas for both sun or shade-bathing. A secluded alcove behind the pool deck offers a built-in gas BBQ for grilling up some local Anegada lobster, and the deck is furnished with a 2nd option for al-fresco dining.

WIFI: There is Wifi

GENERATOR:  the automatic-start generator is a great plus for any pesky power outages

HOUSEKEEPING: is once midweek. All linen and towels will be changed and a general cleaning will be done. Daily housecleaning can be arranged at your own expense.

PARKING: There is driveway parking for you convenience - no long slog with grocery bags or suitcases!

ACTIVITIES: You may see the Long Bay Resort amenities in some of the photos. Enquire with Long Bay Resort to purchase passes to the gym, tennis & pickle-ball courts. You can also purchase a pool pass for the day ($100 pp incl $75 food & beverage credit & access to the pool. Under 12's are free)

NEARBY
Solaria is found in the exclusive but welcoming hillside estate of Long Bay in the West End of Tortola. It has a friendly community feel with a good mix of residents and tourists in the area. It's elevated enough for gorgeous views but low enough to walk down to Long Bay's beach and restaurants in 10 mins (the walk will take longer on the way up as it is quite steep!).

LONG BAY (550 yards away)
At Long Bay you’ll find a mile-long stretch of white sand and turquoise waters and a selection of beachfront refreshment options - 1748 Restaurant, Tropical Fusion, Johnny’s Beach Bar and 1748 Coffee Shop. If you’re feeling energetic there’s Long Bay Beach Resort’s Tennis and Pickleball courts. A day pass will buy you hours of fun! There's also gym passes available and a spa for a little pampering. You can also purchase a pool pass for the day ($100 pp incl $75 food & beverage credit & access to the pool. Under 12's are free)

APPLE BAY (0.7 miles away)
A little village with world-class winter surf and a handful of bars and restaurants (Sebastian’s Seaside Grille, Sugar Mill, Tramonti) for all occasions.

SMUGGLER’S COVE (1.3 miles away)
Smuggler’s Cove is idyllic and perfectly sheltered by its vibrant reef which provides sensational snorkelling and is home to Patricia’s laid-back beach bar. *cruise ship passengers sometimes come here so check out the 'BVI cruise ship schedule' online first.

CARROT BAY (1.5 miles away)
A charming village where you'll find local fisherman, fruit stalls, North Shore Shell Museum and D’Coal Pot restaurant.

WINDY HILL (2.5 miles away)
Head to Stoutts Lookout for a chilled beer with an incredible view over the bay or Banakeet (Heritage Inn) restaurant for one of the best dinner spots to watch the sunset on island.

SOPER’S HOLE MARINA (3 miles away)
Here you’ll find West End Ferry Terminal (where you can catch boats to fellow British Virgin Island Jost Van Dyke and US Virgin Islands St John and St Thomas) and a great selection of waterfront restaurants (Omars' Fusion is great for curries, Omar's Coffee House for breakfast, The Admiral Pub for beer and pizza) a well-stocked grocery store, boat charter companies, shops, Driftwood Spa, water toy rentals (Island Surf & Sail) and more.

CANE GARDEN BAY (3.8 miles away)
Cane Garden Bay is a hub of nightlife with plenty of places to eat, drink and be merry. To name a few, there’s Indigo House, Myetts, Elm’s Beach Bar, Paradise Club and Quito’s Gazebo for eating and drinking right on the beach. Many of these also have live music nights and fun events. Bobby’s Marketplace has all the essentials for stocking up on groceries.
For beach activities, there’s plenty of beach bars you can rent a lounger from (or just setup on the sand). The water is calm and clear and underfoot is sandy so it's an excellent place for swimming. If you're feeling adventurous, there is a shipwreck a very short swim out from the North end of the beach which is great to check out with a snorkel. There are also jet skis, paddle boards and kayaks which can be rented along the beach. Callwood’s Rum Distillery is a great place to check out to see a local family business that has been running for over 200 years and to try some of their delicious tipples. *all these amenities mean that the cruise ship passengers come here so check out the BVI cruise ship schedule online

This was a beautiful option for our stay! The view is spectacular and the accommodations were very nice. The kitchen had a lot of stocked items which made it easy to cook! We were shocked at the items and condiments that were available. A cleaning crew was suppose to come on Friday, in which we would be out of the house, but they didn't come until Saturday while we were still there and trying to dress to go somewhere. A bit of inconvenience but it was doable. If there was any complaint at all, it would be upon making the deposit, we were charged some kind of fee for 4 people staying in a 3 bedroom property. After asking about this, it was explained that it was just a charge VRBO has. It really doesn't make sense to have an extra fee for 4 people when you have a 3 bdrm house. I could understand if it was a 2 bdrm home and we had 6 people. Just beware, maybe all VRBO's charge a per person on top of the actual rental fee. We loved our visit and will gladly recommend or rent this beautiful home again.

Wonderful stay at Solaria over New Years. Breathtaking views morning to night and fun villa layout. The team coordinating everything (mostly Sharlene for us) were great at getting back to you on questions, help, recommendations, etc.

We spent a week at Solaria in May 2025 and had a fantastic experience. The house is very comfortable and well-equipped. The bedrooms are all separated, providing tons of privacy. Booking was easy and Sam was great about communicating with us. The house is just beautiful and the view is spectacular. Its a great base to explore Tortola.

Solaria is an outstanding choice for 3 couples or a family. View is exceptional and the villa is well appointed. Location is great. Near the beach. A relatively short walk , but steep trek returning to the villa. All in, I would highly recommend.

Sam, Sharlene and Pinky are the most welcoming hosts we've ever met. The villa is large, with private bedrooms and en suites for each, so families can have together time as well as alone time. Air conditioning throughout, including in the family room (a BIG bonus in our book). The pool is in the central part of the villa and overlooks the sea. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need to prepare a meal or bring food back from any excursion and enjoy on real plates rather than paper/takeout. Check-in/check-out is a breeze. We rented a vehicle (make sure you stay left and watch for cars on the switchbacks/curvy mountain roads), but also had Eric (Eric's taxi) take us into Road Town for shopping and lunch - he knows every road in Tortola and how to get to anything. Plus he's just a downright super nice person. Solaria is such a beautiful place, and perfect for families with teens/older kids.

What an amazing house. We traveled with all adult family members and were overwhelmed with the beauty. Rosy was there cleaning and happily gave us a tour of the home. We got lost coming back from the store and called and got turn by turn directions while on the phone. You will likely want a car but man oh man it’s a steep drive. Used the pool more than expected and absolutely loved our time at Solaria. We will be back and highly recommend this home. Also our first trip to Tortola did not disappoint. What a lovely place with equally lovely people.

My family of 5 had a great week of vacation at Solaria. The 3 bedrooms allowed for privacy while the living area was spacious enough for the whole group. The house was very well equipped with everything we needed. The location was really great. It’s close to several restaurants and close to the Smuggler’s Cove beach. The communication with the owner and house manager was great as well. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Tortola.

Five of us shared Solaria for two weeks and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. The villa layout was perfect, giving each couple privacy when needed. The kitchen and common areas were well appointed and we had everything we needed for a nice day at the beach. Of course the best thing was the location. The views were absolutely amazing and we could even hear the waves from below. The drive up is easy and quick. Having stayed in many places throughout the islands on all sorts of roads this was a plus. We walked down to the restaurant for coffee in the morning plus a walk along the beach. Other restaurants were very close by. Communication with owner/manager was quick. Overall, we would stay here again in a heartbeat!
