We were disappointed that there was no welcome pack, not even a teabag. The location is wonderful, but for the money paid, cleanliness wasn’t great. The dishwasher hadn’t been completely emptied, cobwebs visible, sofa corners - not pleasant & log basket wasn’t full for our first cold night indoors. The downstairs shower leaked water all over the floor under the glass side panel. But the house is lovely - just a bit more TLC.

Had a wonderful four days in this lovely old home. It felt like we went back in time. We enjoyed watching the sailboats go thru the locks in the canal. We only wish that we could read about the history of the house. We explored the area taking day trips… to Oban, Campbeltown, Southend, Tarbert etc.We give a thumbs up for having a full size washer and dryer. All the other places we stayed at had small washer/dryer combos or just a small washer and no dryer… that makes it hard when traveling for weeks. We highly recommend considering staying at the Shelburne Lodge!

We were two families, French and Scottish, we all had a great time! The location is beautiful, the house was full of unique qualities… the servants bells caused a lot of amusement. Full of character and history. Excellent place for larger groups. Excellent communication regarding keys etc.Had a wonderful lunch at Tayvallin..about 20 minutes away… delicious seafood! No complaints about the house, location or our hosts!! Recommend this lovely house and place!

The location was perfect for a relaxing break. The house had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable and clean. However, the overall cleanliness of the house was not good. The paintwork and skirting boards had not been cleaned and dust was present under furniture and in all corners. The grass had not been cut and weeds were growing around the front entrance and in the paved areas. The furniture and decoration were tired and in need of updating.

Beautiful, spacious, grand house, but warm, welcoming and well equipped for nine of us, with two beds to spare!! Art Nouveau features - I would love to find out more about its history. It also has a serving hatch and room service bells, if you can manage to fit your butler in the boot of your car!! Laundrey and kitchen facilities.excellent.

A great house with plenty of room for 7 people and three dogs. Well equipped kitchen and great dinning area. The beds are really comfy all bedrooms are spacious. Plenty of room out side with nice sitting area. Located on the Crain canal which is very picturesque. Would recommend shelboure lodge..
