Gorgeous modern home! The owner was super easy to talk to and reasonable. No cleanliness issues at all. Although the functionality of the outdoor built-in speakers during grilling or ceiling speakers for films would have added to the experience, it did not impact the overall excellence of our stay. The views were incredible. Overall, highly recommend!
As soon as we stepped inside, we couldn't stop talking about how nice the house was, as well as, the view! The floor to ceiling windows throughout the house let so much natural light in and there was plenty of room inside and out for everybody to hang out.
We had a great experience with this vacation home! It's important to find a well-maintained property with all the amenities you need, but it's also important to find owners who are welcoming and helpful. It was the best of both worlds!
This luxurious property was exactly as pictured and provided our family of 12 an elegant and comfortable place to gather for a week in St. Joseph, MI. 5 bedrooms, each with their own bath was beyond words. Questions were answered promptly by our Premier Host, Bernadette during our stay. Wonderful memories were made and this might just become our annual future family meet-up destination.
The property was beautiful and had everything we needed. The owner was responsive. We only wish their was direct beach access from the property. We had booked thinking that it was that way, but there are many beaches nearby. We would definitely stay again!
The house was nice and modern with great view of the lake. The rooms and bathrooms were great for our party of five couples and the host was very responsive. The one thing to point out, you can’t just walk to the lake, but there are great beaches just a short drive away.
This is a very nice house, and we had no problems. However, we were left feeling uneasy during our stay due to inside/outside security cameras, an abundance of rules, and the recent negative reviews regarding damage to the property. It is stated clearly upon check-in that the cameras are off while guests are on the premises, but there is no way to be sure. We spent a lot of time on the back deck, and after a while, we just assumed we were being watched or recorded by the camera that peers down. The check-in/check-out process is clunky as it requires a garage code, an alarm code, and a code to retrieve the house key from a lockbox. After reading a few negative reviews about guests accused of causing damage, we purchased the VRBO insurance policy, just in case. We also felt that the cleaning fee was excessive, considering that the 10 of us spent 2 hours preparing the property for the cleaning crew according to the stated rules. Check-out is at 10 am, so be prepared to spend your morning getting the house ready for the next set of guests. The place is fantastic, and the views are great, but our group spent most of our time slightly stressed out about the cameras and all the rules.
We stayed the week for an adult family reunion. The layout was very group friendly with appropriate areas for privacy. It was Summer, so we enjoyed the back deck and backyard with the amazing and relaxing views. All rooms facing the back of the home offer breathtaking views of the lake. Every evening's sunset was an event. The rooftop is underutilized, not furnished I'm sure for high wind reasons. We kept a few camp chairs inside the doors for sunset moments. The kitchen is fairly well stocked for most menu preparation. Plan ahead, ask Bernadette about what's available ... she is very helpful. There is a Meijers 15 minutes away for everything not provided or needed. Lower level is very cold. Again summer in a 3 level building can have high variations. Luckily the top floor has a separate Nest control to keep things cool upstairs. The few small issues we had throughout the week were quickly responded to by the owner. We were very pleased with our environment, as family connections and making memories have been challenging during these Covid years. We were very happy with our choice!
We had a wonderful stay at this property. The house was great, and Bernadette was responsive and easy to communicate with. The only reason I didn't give a five star was a couple of things that I'm guessing they can easily remedy: could use a large skillet when cooking for a large group; outdoor furniture for the rooftop deck would be nice(it's a fabulous spot to watch the sunset and relax in the evening, but had to lug up lawn chairs that we brought), and finally some towel hooks or bars in the bathrooms would be nice for towels and bathing suits. Again, minor things that would make it ideal!! We loved Tiscornia Park beach; roughly a 10 min drive and just $7/day parking. Not very crowded, with plenty of space to play catch or fly a kite! We also enjoyed having a backyard to sit out and play yard games while looking at the water. Suggest bringing along lawn chairs if large group; seating for 8 on deck dining table. Great house overall!
The house was beautiful with amazing lake Michigan sunset views. My 11 friends and I had a wonderful 2 night stay. The house is clean, open, spacious with a great outdoor space. Bernadette was friendly and addressed my questions. We were disappointed that we were unable to use the hot tub on the second day, however we were able to make the best of it and make a fire instead. There was plenty of room at the house and enough levels to spread out although we primarily were on the main level enjoying the views and outdoor space. There were just a few things that were not as expected (which were likely just my misinterpretation of the listing but I still wanted to note these) 1- the listing states 4 single beds however there are 2 full beds in the basement bedroom and then a trundle bed in the open section in the basement 2- Currently there is not beach access as the stairs are under construction 3- There is hard water so the ice maker is disabled (so bring your own ice). We enjoyed our stay and the proximity to downtown St. Joe.
Great stay! Bernadette was very thorough with communication and got back to me quickly. Over all a 10
